I'm almost done in completing the components for Ember so I can build my Inquisitor (Ember + Tarans) and I mostly play Free-For-All for I hate TDM and don't want to blame others if the team lost the match. Anyway I have a Fury (Level6) sitting around for quite sometime and I fitted it with ONE Dragoon (Level2) and pair of Zeus (Level7). Now with Workshop 2.0 I can build 2 more Dragoons to complete the setup OR Grind to build Scourgasari (Bulgasari + 3 Scourges) (longeeeerr wait time) I know with my favorite play style Scourgasari is the way to go but sometimes I play other modes too like 1 in every 10 games, I just need a mid ranger. PS: I can't remove the pair of Scourge in my Kumiho as it's the best kill stealer in Free-For-All

Ok, seriously, both setups are as good as they get, top leauge material. Now, it all depends what gamestyle do you prefer.
IMO: - Bulgasari is a brawler, tons of hp, strongest shield in game, and 3xScourge in close proximity can vaporize anything in matter of seconds - Fury with 3 Dragoons is a support medium range setup, i gues it's the best there is in that role, deals crippling damage from safe distance in short time.
Personally, i wouldn't build any of those. I hate scourges because they are just brainless, skilles, sound distrupting, overpowered and in general one of the stupidest idea one could implement in game. Fury is just boring.

I actually get more kill streaks with my Dragoon Fury than my Scourge Bulg. That's because of the abundance of short ranged killer bots like the Orkan Spectre and STD's running around. (ok thats my new nickname for the ST Spectre. Short for Shocktrain Descent). For new players though, I would still prioritize the Scourge over the Dragoons simply because the pre NE, the Dragoons were brutal to upgrade. I can't imagine what they're like now.

Scourgasari gets my vote. Fury Dragoon is awesome as well but Scourgasari is the king of versatility. There is no map / mode that Scourgasari isn't great for.

Just recently i was in 1v1 figth vs scourgasari with my gust persuer, i was circling around him, gunz blazing, made him loose target lock on me twice, but obviously, somewhere behind me, inside 600m were my teammates, so in that brief time he should of loose his lock completly, his lock just jumpped on a target behind me and he managed to correct it and continue to shoot at me and kill me... I thing scourge needs to be rebalanced, in a nerf it way...

Scourge 101 - Use a teammate to maintain lock It's all in the article in my sig When facing a scourge in stealth do NOT get between them and a team mate. This is one of the last of the Skill-based mechanics in this game, it does NOT need to be nerfed.

yeah, i have read some of your articles, pretty good work. But i honestly think this scourge feature is in fact a bug... If target lock need 3 or 4 seconds to lock on to a target, then it must need 3 or 4 seconds to lock on target, period, no workarounds... maybe it's just me

It's brilliant and adds depth that is sorely lacking from this game.

I think you should take rooting into consideration.
Peps already report rooting Bulg often, so imagine what will happen when the new shotguns with the spread proliferate. It's problem is that the shield is small, and shot keep slipping in. Rayker will affect it also. You just need 2-3 sec for the dragoons to kill, and if you are suppressed back to cover. Scourge takes time.
Perhaps nothing will happen, but the point is simple.
The nonsense that is to proliferate in the next 3 months, affect Fury way less than Bulg. So, I think it's a safer investment.

Fury on the other hand, is stuffed once they are rooted.

Here's a thought. Why not go for a Pulsar Bulg instead? That way, you get the best of both worlds. Less overall firepower, but same range, root and shield. Personally, I think I'm going this route once I get my second Shredder. I'll devote some resources to get 3 Pulsars.
In this day and age of OP short range bots, the energy shotguns will just make that worse. Plus, Scourge is getting harder and harder to use what with all the stealth bots jumping and running around. I think I'm going to change up my playstyle and move further back and play at range again. There's no way I can compete in raw firepower so I have to play smarter.

Fury on the other hand, is stuffed once they are rooted. I typed affect Fury less Bulg . Cause of the playstyle. Fury Drag, stays at 600-600+, covered and needs to pop out for 2-3 sec. That's all. If you need to relocate, you stay at 600+ which is close to your native, and outside the reach of any root. On the other hand, you don't build a Bulgasari scourge to stay at 600m covered, cause as you know the scourge receives significant handicap at that range. Indeed Bulg has a shield, but if we are compare both at the 600m : 1. Area control is better with Drag 2. Damage is way better, since scourge at 600m is -77%. The great advantage of the Bulg+Scourge is the beacon capping, brawling aspect. This in turn, moves moving in, means exposing yourself etc, means welcome to root and Rayker land. On this part I'am not sure how it will play out, with this rooting non sense.

When you aren’t focusing on FFA, you can temporarily move your Scourge to Bulgasari. Others have elucidated why Bulg is so good, so I just will add that although Drag Fury is powerful, it’s slow movement is quite a deficit imo, so much so in fact that I’m giving up that power for mobility by moving the Dragoons to a Carnage and a Strider.
With the Spectres massive leap, it is able to close distance on a target very quickly, and with the typical load-outs of Shocks or Tulumbas, the Fury is way too slow for evasion. In particular though, the mobility of these other two bots allows not only greater ability to evade, but repositioning allows you to land more hits than a slow Fury can accomplish. I’ve played Fury and Bulg extensively, so if I were to go back in time, I would not have acquired and built 3 Dragoons personally.

Dragoon Fury isn't a good bot for FFA. Skill in playing it, is not about movemant, aiming and shooting but about positional awerness, patience and and anticipation. If you see someone 400m away, hiden, not moving and no ancile, it's probably spectre waiting for jump. You should hide yourself and anticipate where will he jump. If you teach yourself that, you'll score more dmg on average than in scourgasari. I know because I use them both.

Just my quick and simple opinion. 1. if you dont have "it" dont get "it". upgrade times and costs are insane. 2. Scourge, even thought some dont like it is about the only way you will counter other scourge players. cant beat tem join them. Being a purest may help your ego but it wont win the game. JUST my opinion.

Scourge Bulgasari is more multi-dimensional that can play both medium range and short range.
Dragoon Fury is a one trick pony.

i Had to change my vote, with the new damage resistance crap coming out of the PIX mill, the Bulga may get nerfed and Fury may get buffed in as much as they respond to different methods of attack. My poor Bulga which I love to run with scourge may get mothballed.

I wouldn't go for Dragoon Fury at all.
Dragoon Bulwark is better. There's not big difference for you, as instead of one New Economy Dragoon, you'll buy New Economy Bulwark - so cost for you is similar. Trust me (and my Bulwark is only lvl 9 with 7/10 Dragoons) - this thing is unkillable. It deals less damage, but it doesn't matter, because you don't need to worry that you'll die after one minute.
Also, you can later switch Bulwark to other weapons, or put 2 Dragoons on some other bot, like Weyland. But if you level up 3 Dragoons, only Fury can use that much, so your resources will be wasted if you try to change anything.

If you play FFA most of the time, I will get Scourgasari for sure. Dragoon Fury is great when you have teammates slowing down the reds (Orkan, Taran, Scourge etc) getting in range. But when a Orkan/Taran Spectre spawn right next to you in FFA? You will prefer a Bulgasari with Dash....

I will just refer you to this one. www.dreamslayer28.com/war-robots/dragoons-what-the-heck/I am an active user of Fury Dragoons and I climbed to Masters in no time. Take note though, if you want to brawl, then use the Scourgesari build. Otherwise, if you can withstand being at 600 meters (or you like a very safe setup), use the Fury Dragoon.
