I've been thinking about how to equip my Mender to be a full-support bot.
The best build I've come up with so far is:
Gust - keep enemy Anciles down Shredder Pulsar
The Shredder and Pulsar stagger each other pretty well just by pressing the red button so you can get some constant suppression and hopefully some lockdowns from afar while keeping anciles down w/ the Gust.
What do you think? Would you make any changes?

I am farming one at the moment. Halos and a Corona for me.
Heal the team and lock the enemy down.

I was thinking Spiral/Hydra.
Safe behind cover, healing point for teammates, dealing some damage and annoying the 「dookie」 out of opponents.

Scourge spark shredder gives range and versatility. Not to mention the lock down works perfectly with the load out.

Right now the biggest problem is most random don't utilize mender so you end up chasing down weak players or just go it alone. That will change soon enough as more hit the field. I use shotties now and if I can't find a lance or haechi I play it like a stalker and try to keep my self alive using resistance and heal. When enough players realize what a game changer it is the first thing they'll do when spawning is look for it then loadouts will be less of a concern. The other way I've played it is to find LR and stick to them but that's a bit boring.

Thanks ranchpig I’ve only had mine a week or so I’m not completely sure how I want to play it. Definitely agree on randoms. I look at clan tags for those I know are higher skilled champs. I figure they may know or like to work with mender. All I can do from a random start.

I am collecting a mender too. I was wondering about an ECU on one light slot and thinking about scourge and a spark as I already have a couple of unused MK1 12 Scourges. Opinion about using an ECU on this guy?
edit: can the ECU HP be healed?

edit: can the ECU HP be healed? From what I understand, only bot base HP can be restored to a certain %age. Shields (and weapons) can not.

I am farming one at the moment. Halos and a Corona for me. Heal the team and lock the enemy down. Yeah after seeing predators pursuer video, I realized the halo especially is great for midrange considering it's a shotgun. Has very little spread and the upgraded corona on the mender makes for slightly more damage than pursuer That's my next "dream build" (not competitive dream build just a fun one like vortex spectre)

Finally got my Mender to lvl 11 and am rocking MK1 lvl12 Halo, MK2 lvlv 12 Shredder (both I won of a Pixonic contest) and lvl 12 Taran and it mows through bots and helps teammates. Probably my favorite bot to play next to lvl 9 Bulwark with lvl 11 Tempest and MK2 lvl 12 Kang Dae. The Tempest just peppers them and every 5 seconds that Kang Dae hits them in the kisser.

I’ve been trying pulsar-gust. It seems pretty decent — 600m range of pulsar gives it some ability to freeze bots from a safe distance and two gusts are good enough to be used to either knock down ancile shields or to finish off low-health enemies. The non-point blank damage output is pretty crappy though.
One of my clan mates uses vortex plus aphids and she swears by it. I also ran into the clan formerly known as HEAT (if I remember correctly) once on Springfield TDM—two sets of long/mid range bots with a Mender with spiral/hydra keeping them alive for ever and ever and ever

trying out a shredder/pulsar mender right now. I tried a halo/corona but the spread didn't let me help my team lockdown reds from a distance. i've found the pew pews to be very effective from behind especially when supporting my orkan/taran-teammates

I ran mine as Aphex for a while. More utility than Spydra, but dies faster too. I've also done Taran/Magnum and Shotgun. So far, my best seems to be Pulsar/Shredder because this build forces me to stay in the support role and gives me some decent range too. The Pulsar and Shredders do decent damage per shot, but lack ammo capacity, so I'm not tempted to knife or kite or otherwise stay exposed too long to get that last little bit of damage. As I start moving weapons around, I'm thinking of trying the Orkan/PInata, even tho both these got nerfed recently. Or, I might try leadhose as that would also encourage me to stay further back and give me some range.
