I wanted to thank all those of you who pilot Rhinos! One of the pleasures of the game is to charge into battle flanked by, and overtaken by, Rhinos. When I see them, there I charge with my gunshot Galahad.
Like swimming with dolphins and dancing with wolves, all hail the Rhino!

There's a bit of a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, it's quite effective. Right now mine is only at level 6 but I get a lot of "Wrampages" with it and even pulled off a couple of "Godlikes".

I used them in Masters and it's what embodied the old War Robots. Skill. Rock/paper/Scissors balance (not at first, it was OP) but given time with Brit bots out (before Dashs) it had a permanent place in my hangar.
You had good speed and protection with reduced firepower, slow as molasses and no protection when you wanted to brawl. Truely a gem among all the bots in this game. Too bad it's pretty much garbage along with anything before the Dashes, including Galahad.

The bots that have come out since that time are either gimmicky or derivative.

Haven't got one yet but as soon as I get a second hangar I'll train one as an assault anti-sniper. Noricum + tumbalas sounds fun and confusing to run down the large maps.

I still run one. I love speeding toward a shocktrain bot and get within range and DB him to death.

Exactly. Great game design right there. Awesome benefits, but with drawbacks. And it's up to you to learn how to use them! Nothing like the "I'm gonna stand behind this pole until someone gets within 300m, then I am gonna jump and press the fire button and win" of the current Orkan Spectre meta. /sigh

The Rhino (IMO) is missing one feature to be complete, it should be able to charge into a Red to deliver some impact damage (including into stealthed bots) . Long overdue and likely won’t ever be implemented, but nice to imagine.

Recently acquired rhino, let it collect dust awhile and finally decided to use it while I MK2 a few bots. It needs to be said I cannot draw a conclusion yet as I have only leveled it to 6. I tried the DB (orkans+pinata), failed horridly at it. Then tried the brawler (storms+gust), did slightly better but still a miserable fail. So I decided to mid range it with weapons I had collecting dust (scourge+ion+molot), this setup holds fairly well at the moment. I'm a fan of bot diversity, so if this can be a useful platform, I would like to use it. I don't want to digress too far off topic, but at this point I mostly see all the same 4 bots in over 80% of my matches (specter/hiachi/inquisitor/bulgisari), I personally am sick of it and would enjoy a fresh perspective from a diverse hanger that is still useful/competitive.
I find myself researching the forums for uses on these older bots as I'm forced to dig in my hanger for something I can use while I upgrade things. But I remember why I liked the older bots when I play with them, I just want to make the useful as well as fun to play.

Best anti-sniper rhinos are arbalest/ballista , tulu/pin , arbalest/craptrain , scourge/spark and taran/mag to some extent.

I used to run a level 10 rhino with punishers and tulus as a mid ranger It wasn't to bad at times. I found punishers were better than molots due to the increased mag load. Spray lead around with the shield up whilst you wait for the tulus to reload and then launch the salvo into the melee.

Spiral/Hydraâ??the ?female dog?. Eww! no, NO, hellz no! If you want missles, griphons are more agile and mobile, and fujin is more agile and defensive. Not gonna mention the hiachi/specter builds as we are talking about using silver/gold/WP bots.

My memory is a bit foggy on details, but I’ll repeat what I shared elsewhere. Champ League battle on Shenzhen. I was making for the parking lot beacon and the other end had like three Scourge and Shocktrain bots, and charging past me shield up taking blasts was a DB Rhino. He made a straight line ignoring the beacon, charged right up to the ST Scourge bots and through skillfully navigating the shield rise and fall and weapon reload, he killed all three a dem reds. If there were rocket bots he’d a been toast, so the lesson there is he waited to drop until he saw those load-outs then took a chance. I’ve never been a fan of the Rhino, but I was impressed, thoroughly

Well Rhino has some features that make it playable, not good but playable. The best setup I've found right now for brawling is Gust/Orkan, but playing it even in Expert is truly an exercise of masochism.
