I played my first game and went away thinking "I've seen this somewhere before.
I don't want to be a jerk, and I'm NOT bagging on Pixonic. I DO like the idea of the new weapon prototype but it currently looks like this. I mean right down to how fast Glenda the good witch is "coming to get you". lol
I think the idea behind the new weapon prototype is an anti sniper/camper weapon. It DOES have big damage and it WILL make you move from your comfy spot. I just don't think this is the right look.
Also I can't tell the difference between type 1,2 and 3 right now. More testing is needed.
What say you?
P.S. Pixonic please don't nerf my testing rewards for posting this. It's intended as constructive criticism. :-)

Good. Campers could take some damage for once

Pretty much agree. I could not notice any difference between the three versions. Same lock on range, same reload time, same damage. Projectile velocity was a joke. Range was a joke - version 1 range 54 meters, version 2 range 75 meters, version 3 range 96 meters. It was nice to hit something with four from a Patton, but after that you had no defense. Best use seemed to be on a Stalker - get right next to your target and circle while firing.

version 1 range 54 meters, version 2 range 75 meters, version 3 range 96 meters I didn't even notice any difference in THAT. I'm gonna test that specifically next!

Is there an age specific for testing?

You didn't directly notice it but you noticed how long they lasted. The speed just correlates it to distant traveled over the given time being 15 seconds.

Mount all 3 on a Leo and fire them the red one (3) will go faster than the yellow one (2) and it is faster than the blue (1). Otherwise they are identical. I call the red one useless, the yellow one very useless, and the blue one exceptionally useless. The range of all 3 is supposed to be 350m, but being that even a tosh can backpedal away (yes I tried) from it I don't see any use other than giving them to the reds to secure a victory for the blue.

I was able to get a couple good shots showing the difference on the test server this morning. The link is in the video thread or you can find it on my channel.

What he is saying is that when you do the math, for 15 seconds at such a slow speed these things effectively have a range of less than 1 00 meters! Even the fastest one. So essentially, they fill the same role as the pulse weapons, being that of road blocks at choke points. They just do it in a different way, by sitting there slowly floating along. I think they are the least exciting weapon I have ever seen on any game ever. Something with that speed should be coming down from the sky, unseen. Maybe if it was something that shot up into the sky and then came nearly straight down (not quite so that you could get behind something) 15 seconds later. That way you see it launch, oh 「dookie」 better get to cover, but still could keep fighting. The range would be something like 350 still.

This better not be the final product, the balls look so awkward

This better not be the final product, the balls look so awkward I agree. It would be kind of the same concept except if the graphics and physics more closely represented a javelin or something similar. 350m Lock on, fire, shoots up into the sky, as long as you stay locked on the enemy they have 15 seconds to either finish you or get to cover before it comes down on them.

I partially agree with the mechanics your talking about BUT, I DO like the "set it and forget it" aspect it currently has. I see it as a "air mine" of sorts. I like to shoot it at one guy then move on to another target. It comes in handy when dealing with multiple enemies. One guy has to run or at least dodge my "Glenda ball" while I fight the other. Look wise, it just needs to look like Zues in a clear ball. IMO

Might be a little much but idk, I guess everyone wouldn't be running around with them in the live server though either

Meaning they could be shot out of the sky. They should be treated like an enemy combatant. < Now are we "balanced"? :-)

When I first saw this I immediately recalled AVGN reviewing "Milon's Secret Castle." Not linking to it because of language, lots and lots of language. ?
