Hi, I'm looking to make a graph of au cost to complete upgrades. If you can post below with au cost and how many days and how many hours to finish the upgrade, that would be awesome. Thanks!

Edit: I posted old upgrade Au costs. I'm sure these will not hold after patch 4.0. Sorry, my bad.

All of the details (except gold cost to speed upgrades) for every weapon and robot can be found here: warrobots.net/en/base

Thank you for the posts. Yeah, I'm only interested in the undisclosed info, which would be gold cost to speed upgrades. I would like data for upgrades that takes 7 days or so as a clan mate told me it was 1176 au for 7 days ad 19 hrs, which doesn't fit on my curve at all.

Pilotunknown,
Cant see your quarantined message but what I've generally use as a ready reckoner til now is 310 Au for the first day and 100 Au for every day there after. It is not precisely accurate but was sort of close enough for older gear. What I noticed is that there are some significant departures for newer gear. The spectre from 10 to 11 was 1000 AU and from 11 to 12 some 1200+ au. They bumped up the upgrade costs. Would be good to see what you put together. I am doing a few low upgrades atm

It's clear upgrades that are 6+ days do not follow the straighttrend line from day 1-5ish. The few data points I have clearly shows upgrades 6+ days are significantly higher than the trend line. Please post back with your upgrade time (days and hrs) and Au cost to rush upgrades that are 6+ days long. Need more data points to more accurately model the equation, thanks.

My data shows linearity through 8 days (for old economy bots). I think I used either Spectre or Persuer.

Didn't expect it's that simple. Thanks for confirming. The longer past 1 day, the better value for gold. Only speed up at lvl11 to 12, or only very few hours left before you sleep.

I got a bunch of new data today (the 3rd/green series). I threw out one outlier, and it's linear, but it's a third slope. Most of my third series data are from today. How old is your data? People have observed Au cost increase lately for 7+ days rush to completion.

I have a feeling 7+ days upgrades got a price increase in 4.0. You guys remember people noting Spectre L11 and L12 cost around 100 more now than before?

Remember, I only started looking at longer upgrade data when I started to see data points that was way above the second series equation. Something was definitely up. Look at my graph and happyfunball. The second equations are nearly identical with almost the same slope and y intercept. We know the second equation is correct from experience. Look at my 3rd series. I have 9 data points, and they all fit into a linear trend line with a slope twice as high as the second series. 9 data points that all fits, this rules out bad data or outliers, and most of those data points were collected within the last 24 hrs. There is definitely a new 3rd equation for 7+ days.

Added R^2. Note y intercept for 3rd series is negative ad waaay below the x axis. The second series has y intercept of 243. These two are very different linear equations.

Up to 7 days, it's following the old equation, which gives 7 day = 1000 Au. According to the old equation, the 8 day-long upgrade should cost 1108 Au, but now it costs 1215 (or 1216) Au. The increment per day after seven days has increased exactly twice. In the old economy, it was 108Au / day. Now it's 216Au / day.
I have screenshots in this thread. It was from my only Spectre, which I bought way before the new economy arrived. So the change in upgrade gold costs apply to both grandfathers and new ones:

Thank you for the confirmation. Slope for 3rd series is almost double that of the 2nd series, thus increments are twice as high. Greasy Pix.

My data was from 2-3 months ago. Not satisfied with wringing more Au/$ out of us by increasing upgrade times in 4.0 for new equipment, Pix apparently felt the need to increase the Au/time for the higher level upgrades. What a mess of a game this has become.

What you have said aligns with all data and observations that Au cost has increased to rush 7+ days upgrades along with introducing longer upgrade time for new economy. If anyone has any illusion that the longer upgrade time is "good" for the community, I hope they can see Pix's true motive when they try to increase monetization along with those longer upgrade time. Pix is indeed very greasy. lol

I'm sorry for cheating and not reading and trying to comprehend all this....
Speeding up upgrades has gotten worse it sounds.
So it's better to value to wait until the last day to upgrade? Or there's more value if you rush it from the start?

Or there's more value if you rush it from the start? It used to be that the longer the upgrade time the lesser the Au cost per hour for the upgrade. That's no longer the case. The best bang for your buck would be to upgrade any long upgrade items when they hit 7 days left in the upgrade. It will cost you 5.95 Au/hr for that upgrade or 1000 gold. Going shorter or longer than 7 days will cost you more gold per hour for the upgrade. This is a graph using my data and PilotUnknown's data showing the Au cost PER HOUR of upgrade vs. time for upgrade. The minimum (best value) is at 7 days as mentioned: Here's a table showing selected values: So basically with the new scheme, upgrading something with 84 hours left to go costs the same Au/hr as upgrading something with 14 days (336 hours) left to go. Its just another example of trying to squeeze a little bit of players.

That's tricky since I'm definitely one of those that sees just a few hours left and I say screw it and click the speed up button...

I like this inforgraphic. It also shows the value of using an Ad to quicken the upgrade. If you speed upgraded with an Ad (20 minutes / Ad), you are getting 2~5Au in value depending on the length of the remaining upgrade.
Not sure whether Bronze chest would be more beneficial than speed upgrade, when you don't plan to open another Superchest before the end of the month,
