Dash bots and the whole concept of selling power were the first nails in its coffin. Every update since then has just choked more and more life out of it. I have no problem supporting developers monetarily, and I did support them, more than any other game on any platform; but what they were asking and continue to ask in order to be competitive in a MOBILE game is patently absurd. Seems like that strategy is slowly catching up with them. Is it dead yet? Not quite, but it's definitely circling the drain.

I used to buy stuff also but not any more. Instead of introducing new stuff they should fix the old ones an do something of the laging. Game seems to be laging more an more every update.

As far as dead as in we're shutting down the servers.. no, probably not even close.. they can twist the screws a bit more before that happens.
But im sure they're shedding players.. the question is how many new ones are taking their place.
I wouldn't doubt they're in negative over all growth but that can go on a while and may even stabilize at a certain point which they find acceptable.
Let's say you're a farmer, you can milk each cow once a day, but if you milk them twice a day some will die from being over milked.
Let's say you have 100 cows, that's 100 gallons of milk a day.. But let's say you milk them twice a day and 40% die as a result.. you now have 60 cows you milk for 2 gallons a day.. a total of 120.. or 20% more milk a day.
You might find this perfectly acceptable outcome if the cows are players, the milk is money, and the farmer is pixonic.

They milk whales. Sperm whales. Which gives you a really good idea of what Pixonic is.
This game died the second they decided to use MM to push microtransactions. Every update thereafter was just a corpse twitching.

Dash bots. That is when the game took a nose dive and began it's flight path into the ground.

It’s alive and healthy provided that thinkgamimg figure is inaccurate.
Remember that all this game needs is a core group of whales who spend big, transient cannon fodder and a strong resuply of new players. That’s the current formula.
I reckon it will be in trouble when 1. Whale population is extremely over powering (it is today] 2. Cannon fodder give up soon after encountering the whale match making zone and as a result the MMing zone is taken into the mid leagues. 3. Attrition is larger than resuply.
Points 2 is getting there but not just there yet. Point 3 is some time away imo
If Pix gets into China than they have a huge resuply potential for some time.

I would honestly say that it was back when the Wild West Bots were introduced. The addition of a fourth currency in addition to the three already in the game at the time was bad sign.

I think the biggest factor is competition. War Robots is going to be a force until Battle of Titans gets out of beta and on it's feet.

Pix would undoubtedly respond and competition would be awesome for both games. I just don’t trust any monopolist esp in the games sector. Hope BoT will be awesome. If so we will have a great few years before the money grab starts. If BoT turns out to be great than I can see a relaunch of a balanced WRs because I am not sure how the current initiatives can be wound back. It is just so far gone.

With 20/20 hind sigth the introduction of the current MM was the first step on the current path. But was very difficult to ascertain at that time.

If it isnt already dying, the chinese release will probably do it. Every other mobile game I've played was filled with hackers immediately after chinese release. They also tend to spend a lot of $ on mobile games so there will probably be a whole new crop of whales to pump more piles of $ for op gear, and also the super tankers that inevitably follow

I guess that's a question which will elicit a very subjective answer. Background: I have been playing since around June 1st last year, and have a pretty meta hangar. Everything is maxed mk1 and am I am working on my 6th mk2 item now. Total spend on the game is two months of premium. I am comfortably in Champion league so I often get the experience of running against whales.
I almost always enjoy my games (the odd tdm/koth yamatau notwithstanding) and for me the game is very much alive and kicking. Just yesterday I had an absolute blast of a match with a clan mate in a 2 man squad facing a full squad of the #18 clan on android Fynh (Cyrillic lettering). We were on team with a 3 man squad and a random. Map was Carrier, beacon rush. The game was back and forth all game with centre beacon switching hands multiple times. When the clock ran out our team had a 4-1 beacon advantage and was 2 against 1, but the red team survived with a sliver more beacon bar than ours. Such an intense game I was almost shaking with adrenaline when the game was over.
Games like that make it all worth it and makes you remember how great this game can be and, for me at least, often is.
