At least it certainly is on the Amazon servers. I made Champion in the Amazon servers with a three slot 4/4 hanger. I have not lost a single ranking point since. And all the Legends League, or any of the Champion league tiers are are just indicators of how many matches you've played. All one has to do to stay in the Legends League is have no life and just play War Robots. That's it and nothing more.
These ridiculous "leagues" have no bearing nor do they indicate what kind of players we are. They certainly do not measure player skills. And they can obviously be manipulated by malicious intent or simply by playing equipment in certain configurations or by objective choices.
So why are some players so intent on maintaining their "leagues" while others like myself could care less about them? I'm interested in the whys and reasonings that drive players in the game. So please state yours here and tell us what you expect/ed from the game's rankng system.
For myself I've never cared at all about the "league" rankings. That's why I tended to go up and down in the Android servers like a yo-yo. Yeah, I tanked my ranking. A lot. Because as I've previously stated, at no point have the rankings ever indicated what kind of players we are nor how skilled in specific disciplines we might be. So I find them utterly pointless. And because of that fact I pissed off a great many players that are stuck on the ridiculous idea of being ranked in a completely meaningless system of utter crapola.
I'm running in Champion league in the Amazon servers and I'm finding that I'm unable to change my hanger too dramatically anymore or I risk upsetting the match balance completely. By that I mean I find it difficult to run a full light or medium bot hanger because as a Champion player I'm being matched opposite another Champion player or two in nearly every match. And those players aren't usually running an all light or medium hanger that would match my own. So I'm stuck running all heavy equipment just to match the opposing team's lineup. Now that's as a solo player. Maybe if I squaded with a full team I could mess around a bit and get away with it, but I'm not much of a team player anymore.

Well im on android and whether LL is a joke or not on android (I think probably not) You'll never get there with a 3 slot 4/4 hanger no matter what you put in there.
From what I understand Amazon is a newer platform for the game ain't it?
Still I wouldn't expect you get to the top like you described so you must be damn good, congrats.

Early on I was fighting hard and trying hard to climb the leagues. Really hard. I always wanted to get to the next one with the ultimate goal of being in the champs league.
Life in general is about progression, family, accumulation of wealth, competition and improving oneself. I suppose the league system taps into those values and makes many try their hardest to climb it.
But this is a game that is supposed to be fun. If climbing the leagues gives people pleasure while recognising that this is a game than I would say there is nothing is wrong with that. But if people confuse the game with real life than I would say there is a lot wrong with that. And a lot of people do.

Currently the only reason folks want to stay in the higher leagues is for the supply drops.

I never cared about rating points when I was in the lower leagues. In fact, and I’m sure you all know, that anyone can rise up in the leagues without even trying. Then, battle rewards & supply drops came in. I thought, why not go the distance for maximum rewards? So now, here I am in champs enjoying the privileges.
What I run in my hanger(ios):
Kumi level 7/ level 12 orkans bulg 9/11 STs inquisitor 9/12 orkans & ember griffin 11/12 tulu & pins lancelot 11/ 12 tarans and redeemer
The fun part is, once I get everything to level 12, I’m gonna choose what build I can do next and hopefully champ rewards will help me in that endeavor once again..

Currently the only reason folks want to stay in the higher leagues is for the supply drops. As a former Android player I agree. But it's a weak fix to a big problem on iOS and Android. Like slapping bubble gum over a hole in a boat. Especially once certain players get all of the component items that they've wanted. Then the plug will start leaking once again. windcaster, yeah, I joined the Amazon servers almost immediately after it was implemented so it was very easy to move up the ranks. The player pool was barely there at all. So shallow that it quickly became boring even if I was in Champ league. It was like being Godzilla with no King Kong to fight. So I quit playing there for over six months. I was still absorbed with my Android profiles and having fun with them to a degree before the Random and LPQ became permanent. Now when I reopened the Amazon game this last January the player pool had risen a bit. Enough to make it fun again at least. But nothing has changed about the matchups. The player pool in Amazon is still pretty shallow. Many forum members can attest that after moving from either of the larger platforms that their previous experience allowed them to fly through the rankings at breakneck speeds. Here's the kicker. The solo matches in the Amazon servers are not separated by leagues at all. Once you get initiated to the game by level 5 you get thrown into the main mixup and you are forced to deal with Recruits to Legends every single match. And as horrific as that sounds it is actually quite fun for the semi-experienced and smart newb players. Platform jumpers find that their experience pays off and big. They already know the dos and don'ts and so they quickly accumulate the needed resources to build their hangers. Smart newbs just figure it out pretty quickly. And they all practically fly up the rankings. Players can still easily make Champion with 3 slot 4/4 hangers. Many even do so with less because they are very skilled players. My thinking is that this should be done to all of the platform servers. Mix players of every rank in every solo match just like the Amazon servers do. There would be no reason at all to tank anymore. And no more ong wait times for higher league players either. Because there are no rank tankers on the Amazon servers and no matter what game mode you want to play the wait times are almost always 30 seconds or less. I've never actually seen a match on Amazon take longer than 15 seconds to start unless I've lost connection. And that was just the once. If PIXONIC dumped the matchmaking algorithm altogether and did on every platform what they do on the Amazon servers I believe the game would become far more fun for the smart and skilled players. Tanking would be unnecessary and pointless. New players would either learn the game quickly and become skilled or just be fodder for the more experienced players or quit. To me that'd be a huge win all around. At that point the "league" rankings would be what they are now but in truth. They are little more than indicators of a player's equipment upgrades anyway unless that player is truly skilled. And since we don't carry badges indicating rank into combat no one knows what their opponents/teammates are capable of anyways in solo matches. So dump everyone together and let the chips fall as they may. Seriously it's way more fun than you might think. Amazon matches can often go down to the wire despite the enormous disparities in hangers. And when they don't they are over with in 3-5 minutes so you can gain those Honor points and tickets even quicker.
