I just gotta say, I’m not impressed with the concept of new currency. We already have gold and silver. Creatively it’s not very good. Components I understand because each bot or weapon can be manufactured from its desired component. Ravens are specifically made from ravens special parts... maybe that could be a backstory for the actual “war” the pilots are having; to gain money and components to make better robots they have to fight for it. But Golden Tokens aka Golden cookies... where does that fit in from a storyline perspective? In a world where battling giant robots exist, is gambling really a need or pastime? You didn’t see T1 nabbing the parts at skynet then telling John “we need to make a stop in Vegas. Our world is hella broke!” No! In the end I guess it’s also based on the technical development side too. There’s certain ways they’ve introduced new games, bots and ways of obtaining growth by means of a currency. I suppose it would be quite an undertaking redeveloping how we earn game widgets. So instead, they modify it bit by bit and end up going in a direction based off of past decisions. Like going down the rabbit hole. Anyways, I could be way off, maybe they think their customers really really love gambling. Thought I’d share my thought on that thanks for reading. Side note, I would consider a game like O-Game to be pretty creative in how they offer new and stronger weapons through technology upgrades. Haven’t played it in years but I LOVED that game.
