So in this weird period at the end of the month where they kind of reset the leagues and nobody is in anything, I have played approximately five games of pure bliss.
Just played a series of games in which we were all level 30, ~2000-4000 wins, had a mix of 8-10/9-11 old school and new school bot/weapons, and tried hard.
It's the way War Robots could and should be and they can most certainly do it. Such a shame and with each new component addition I get closer and closer to hanging it up for good.
BTW, my actual league is Silver III...tanked hard and turned the account over to my 8yo. I play now and again. One of the guys had thousands of champion league points, go figure!

This has been discussed before but...they wont change anything because they want people to get their 「multiple dookie delivery chute」 kicked by better equipment to tempt people to rage spend on new bots and weapons. They could change the MM back to the old hangar based model if they wanted to.

They could change the MM back to the old hangar based model if they wanted to. I wonder if that's what it defaults to at the beginning of each month. I never minded it but I remember that plenty hated that as well.

I never minded it but I remember that plenty hated that as well. Not like now. I hated mag geps back in the day, but I got past them easily enough. Hell, my then 8yo son, who is autistic, got past them (he still refers to Geps as cheater robots). But there is no 'getting past' the current MM. Even when you're all Mk2L12 at the top with the latest and greatest, the next set of OP gear is just around the corner. At least that's how it's been since the Dash release.

Such a shame and with each new component addition I get closer and closer to hanging it up for good. Funny you mention this. As I look back to the time when the game was fun and try to figure out where it all went so wrong, the pattern I see is that the more new gear I acquired in order to keep up with everybody else's new gear, the less fun the game became. It was a death spiral that finally reached the breaking point right around the time I leveled up my third sharttrain. It was like the path to the final destruction of the game I once loved was finally complete. As you may have seen in another thread, I restored my last main hangar from game center and tried to resume from where I left off. It took less than a day for all the seething hate and loathing to return. So it got deleted again. Now I just delete and restart the game, try different start-up strategies, play to about lvl 15, delete and start over again. 15 seems to be about where MM starts really screwing with you and people start playing stupid. Maybe I'll go a bit longer, as long as games remain tolerable. Since I have nothing invested except a few hours of playing time, I have no problem scrapping it all. And since I know I'm not going very far when I start over, I might blow all that early fast gold like a drunken sailor, or I might hang onto it and see if I can grab something fun before flushing it all down the crapper again. But I never have more than 2 hangar slots. It's a whole lot more fun, and it costs $0.

Love the game when you get a balanced match. Hoping the skirmish things works out well.

Can't play what you want.(Random) Can't play with what you want.(Components) Can't play the way you want.(Reaction vs. Strategy) Can't play with who you want.(MM/Tankers) Can't have what you want.(Grind Cost)
Yeah. Its a ?fluffernutter?ing chore.
