so we can get the raven now.
- looks like a griffin - has the weapon slots of the griffin - jumps like a griffin only twice - has 3/4 the health of the griffin
so in short raven is a griffin with double the airtime and much lower health so the reds can blow your bot to pieces faster ...

LOL, and like I said in another thread, no one but the "gotta haves" will waste resources on this one. PIX will see a steady decline in revenue because of the times and costs of upgrades. watch and see. BTW that is not the way to balance the game!

Its also got higher foot speed than the griff. I'm liking the design and balance of the raven. Its biggest drawback for me is it wasnt introduced as the griffin update. I'd rate it in the overall neighborhood of the hover.

Much faster groundspeed than the griffin aswell, that's pretty important.

Raven is only intriguing to me if there were no Trebs, Zeuses, skilled RDB pilots, Scourges, Shock trains, well... anything that could shoot it in flight.
There are still plenty of ways to kill stealthed robots with self- aiming weapons, hence the RDB and so on. Stealth double jump would bring it into meta, but no....just no. I love Griffin's, but their day is done for top tier play. The Raven is a cool toy.

From what is written in this thread, Raven seems a perfect premium version of Griffin for a balanced game.
WTH were they thinking when they introduced it in this game, which has all the P2W OP stuff which will just destroy Raven?

Raven is a slightly tweeked Griffin, not wasting resources on getting one of those.

It might be good I FFA. Fast, good damage and double jump nice for kill steals. But I'd take a haechi over it any day.

If I win one, great, I'll level it up to 9, but I'd rather keep pushing for a Mercury. And I'm not rushing the Mercury until the Exodus comes out.

That double jump can cover some serious distance. In test mode. I leapt from the spawn point platform (behind the low cylinder) in Yama and still nailed the ramp (center) in time to vaporize an early kumi. Thats at level 8. Double jump allows a lot of permutations and pilots have yet to go through the curve. Ive got a good feeling about this bot and watch with anticipation how pilots are going to master it.

158k @ LVL 12 for both
Faster
Double jump
Not OP but wth, if Pixonic had some common sense all theaes new bots should have been released before Dash's and spectre

Well I agree, On paper I don't want it.
The faster speed and double jump though... hmm.. could be useful offset on the HP hit.. Having said that I still don't want it and haven't seen any so far in D3

How can anyone justify the cost in age and the time to upgrade? You could take a Griffin to l12 mk2 before getting the raven to l12 mk1. 170m Ag to mk1 lvl12. Almost 60 days too.

It is easy to justify. Some may have gotten it due to hype, or because they just love the concept. Then they realize it will take ages to level it decently. Then they spend real money. What more justification do you need?

I can see a DB build, licking it's metal lips, watching the Raven and waiting for it to land to give it a face full of Orkans, and just before it lands, it jumps again in a different direction and then rains down it's own hail of rockets. It could work, but due to the reported LONG upgrade times and high costs, I won't be grinding for one any time soon.

I've always wanted a griffin, truth be told. But I can't play one without being in the suck zone. The raven seems more my tempo with its foot speed and double jump. Besides its yet another mech I can use with my "boing" sound effects! Also, Im looking forward to trying to empty a full db load between the two jumps without touching the ground! That might just make for some awesome possibilities!

ezekielcrow, I think you might be on to something there. You might have to nickname your eventual Raven, "Q-Bert" or "Fix-t Felix" or just Felix for short, and the hammer would be the DB load you dump on your prey! Maybe I'll invest in the Raven after getting a pair of Sparks. I tried a 4 Scourge Spectre for kicks in FFA, and it's freaking powerful even at level 9. It'll probably be better on a more durable platform though and with the double jump, the Raven is arguably more agile than the Spectre.

Also you will have to wait over 2 months to enjoy the HP you can have with a Griffin. Is the double jump worth 170M ag?

I just don't understand the draw for this bot. the cost and time needed to get it to a competing level is insane. the Spark is just as bad in upgrade times and costs. I just don't see the wisdom in the investment.

But...if I were to win one for free? I probably wouldn't max it out. Level 9/10 seems to be my happy place right now.

I'll play what I can until I can't then drop this game like the bad habit it is.
