Hey folks, been a busy writer this week, and I've got both a Battle Stories and a By the Numbers! In the Battle Stories, I discuss what it's been like to get behind the wheel of my shiny, new Hydra Doc. I've had a lot of learning to do- and got taught a powerful lesson. In By the Numbers, I take the usual analytical look at the meta, in terms of what sorts of mechs and pilots I've been up against. Griffins are still holding strong at 25% of the meta, but some of the other results are less expected. Enjoy!

The only tabs I leave open in Safari are this forum and Gepard Diaries. Keep up the great work! Now I am off to read these latest.

Not seen these blogs before - nice work. Amusing and an interesting dissection of the numbers. Looking forward to the next installments.

Another great read. What you are seeing with the MM is reflecting what I'm seeing up around 10/10. My win rate has also climbed over 60% as well in the last week.

I look forward to seeing the numbers of the 3 universal soldiers (the only current bots that span the roles of knifer, power runner, close support, and even mid-range support) --- the Griff, the Gal, and now the Doc change over time. While I still see the Griff as the top unisol as it's free and the utility of its jump cannot be replaced in either Gal/Doc, I am interested in how the Doc replaces other bots - particularly the other gold bots the Gal and Fury (cause if you have to spend gold, you've got to weigh in all the benefits between those 3 bots).

Great write up! Thank you!
Also, I've noticed my Boas are outclassed most of the time. A Thunder and a Taran run out of juice quick against a PDB Griffin. I still run them, but I've had to upgrade my hangar with heavies like Leo and Griffin to really contribute. My Golem is sitting idle for this exact reason. I still like the Boa for its durability and speed, but I'm going to need to add something speedier for beacon capping.

I have yet to see a Hydra Doc, but that strategy of staggering missiles to piss people off is a nice one.

First of all, thanks for the kind words, everyone. It's great to have something to write about, and glad many of you are getting something of value out of the Diary. zman Mine had, too, but the tinkering I've been doing has cratered it again. Ahh well, was good while it lasted! Team Alpha Strike I'd never thought of those bots the same was you've observed, but that's a really interesting line of thought. I'll be keen to see what Pixo does when it moves to scrap weight class designations and begin classifying bots by function. soulcoffr Have you tried running an Orkan over Taran? I've found the burst damage gives the Boa a little more kick, since it's mobile enough to play the ambusher's role fairly well. I actually retired mine, but some recent struggles found me taking ol' familiar out of the mothballs again. @darkangel12s It's a riot, though I feel a little guilty at times. That one guy I mentioned in the article, the one who died twice trying to get at me. I felt like a real jerk hitting him the second time around, but what could I do? Can only hit the bots in front of me, and it was his misfortune to spawn within 600m of me. hulkz1 A fellow enthusiast! Would enjoy hearing your thoughts after running it a bit.

Now that you have officially crossed over to the dark side, tell us, is it true that you missile guys lock in on one pilot for the whole game? Whenever a missile boat takes a liking to me, I always assumed the date would be over when my mech would die. But then, minutes later (or however long it takes a Fujin to scuttle over to our spawn), it always seems like the missile drivers try to reacquire the same pilot's new mech for some extra trollz and giggles.

It really depends. I generally won't bother unless someone 'distinguishes' themselves to me. I'd rather look for prime targets rather than just be a troll. But... if someone annoys me, I may get a little extra chuckle out of going after them again.

dredd77 Ive been running 2 docs in my hangar 6/7 with tulus or tulus over orkans for a week or so. Tons of fun but so fragile there is no room for error. You can almost see the look of surprise right after the tulu barrage...and then two big yellow orkans pop up just as the opposing bot figures its safe to continue the charge. I die laughing...a lot!
