re: Bulwark In March of 2017 a Robot Design competition hosted by the Facebook Group WAR ROBOTS *VISIONARIES and appeared on this Forum as well. Fellow Visioneer and member of this forum, Mechronis, submitted his design for BULWARK as part of that contest. Mechronis made his last post in this forum in December of that same year… Im not sure if he still plays or goes by a different handle now, but I see that this weeks test-server features a new prototype called BULWARK. Is this a coincidence? By design? Wow. If I was in Mechronis' place, I would be flattered. Im sure many would feel the complete opposite though.

Not a coincedence at all. The test server bulwark is his idea with Pixonic design dept tweaks. I mean for there to be another bot named bulwark when he named his a bulwark is impossible odds....just to use a dutch origin word for embankment or barricade. Then for it to have an ancile and similar speed.

As you can see, I tagged the fellow both here and in the group so he could perhaps be given a Bulwark when it goes live similarly how when the Exorcist was renamed Spectre. Im sure Pix will do that.

Pretty bad 「bum-bum」. We should find and beat that side...Bulwark is like a Haechi on steroids!

I am actually really excited for the Bulwark. It is the hardest counter possible to the Shocktrain, Scourge and Dragoon literally two shields to break through (one rechargeable) before you even scratch the paint on it with those weapons.
It could very well lead to a return to the rock-paper-scissors meta, as the Orkan Haechi should be able to break down a Bulwark? Also a robot that survives a long time, means more decisions are made with it, which means more opportunities to show skill.

Not a 「fluffernutter」ing scratch, 「female dog」, then proceeds to vaporize dash with Dragoons or Ember or Exodus or Zeus. But Orkans, Punishers, Thunders, Gusts will take down a Bulwark. While the special ability shield blocks both energy and projectiles, it blocks energy far more effective than projectiles.

Shotguns and Punishers should be great against bulwark, they drop ancile a fast and double damage to physical shields. The return of kinetics in the meta?

While the special ability shield blocks both energy and projectiles, it blocks energy far more effective than projectiles. Yeah, the mid range energy meta is about to die when the Bulwark profilerates. And die hard. It's even stronger than I imagined versus energy weapons, Shocktrains will never make it through the rechargeable shield, and even if they do, they physical shield is still there. Not to mention all the other mid range weapons won't do anything versus the rechargeable shield. We are going to be back to brawling soon!
Even though the game will remain pay to win, this kind of change is exactly what the game needed. Just because a game is pay to win doesn't mean it can't be skillful and fun. There are so many actions and reactions necessary with the Bulwark then the Dash-Fire-Dash mechanic the Shocktrain Bulgasari uses (or worse the Jump-Fire mechanic of the Shocktrain Spectre). That means so many more chances to show skill, and so many more chances for counterplay. I feel a price drop for the Lance and Galahad coming soon too... the Bulwark is better than the Lance is every way.

Looking forward to test it in a few hours although a few clan mates weren't that impressed earlier

Looking forward to test it in a few hours although a few clan mates weren't that impressed earlier So the energy shield recharge only after activating the fron physical shield, the two are not there together, this means that you need to flank it to take it down, if the pilot misses from which side the attack is coming there is a good chance or by team tagging

So....I was a little underwhelmed and confused by the Bulwark.
The trident looks like it's having a comebak!!

So far, I'm not impressed with the Bulwark. It's a heavier, slower Carnage. Only this one doesn't have "Rush".Not enough firepower on the test server, as no Tempests or Dragoons are available. Using Thunders and Redeemers, I found it horribly underpowered, and meeting a quick end. Sorry, Mechronis. As with everything else Pixonic has done over the past year, they've taken a good idea and fouled it up.

I was wrecking fools with the Redeemer Bulwark on the test server. The damage output was a bit low however the survivability was unreal. I was practically invincible through a combination of good gameplay and shield switching. The special energy shield that blocks all damage types was unnecessary. Simply going from ancile to physical shield is enough of an advantage. This thing would be a beast with the ember or dragoon if it was available.
The Trident or heavy Orkan (exodus?) from the last test server would have both been quite good on this bot. Speaking of which, the Trident changes for this test server were terrible. They kept the range at 600, allowed individual firing , and reload while firing. However, the damage per minute was lowered compared to live server. The damage per rocket was reduced by 500 and the reload takes 0.66 seconds longer per rocket.
