Random mode is giving me TDM (AKA Spydraphidtrain mode) about 8 games out of 10. Why? TDM is, according to my highly scientific method of asking some people on Reddit, universally agreed to be the worst game mode. Am I being conditioned to accept it or something?

Pixonic's attempt to brainwash you into thinking you like it.

It should not be a part of the random game mode.

Many others just skip it and you get to fill their spot. You get penalized for someone else's bad behavior. Welcome to War Robots!

I encountered a Haechi with maxed Mk2 Hydras. What a frigging piece of OP nightmare that was! Couldn't get close enough to damage it, and the other reds all clustered around it to give it even more protection.

At least with a Spectre, I have a chance of hurting it with my Spydra. I can't crack a Haechi's Ancile!

I've noticed a lot more TDM lately as well. That's how I felt not long ago. However, I am sort of leaning towards another possibility which is that the % of TDM fluctuates and it goes in a 3 day cycle. On the third day you get proportionately lots of TDMs. Similar to the frequency of map appearances seem to go in cycles too...... maybe I play too much.

Wasn't too long ago it wasn't forced on us. I got annoyed and just dropped out 4 in a row, 5th I decided to play a few minutes. Our side won but no rewards were handed out. I hadn't seen that before so mssgd pix. They sent this reply.
Hi! I've just checked your account in our database and I can see that you’ve been placed into the low priority queue. Let us explain what this queue is.
There are five differences between the low priority queue and the general one. 1. In the low priority queue Pilots are matched regardless of their league, so players from any league can be put on the same team or matched against each other. 2. Because there are not a lot of «leavers» placed in the low priority queue, they may wait longer to join a battle. 3. Teams in the low priority queue matches may be uneven and you can fight both 6 vs 6 and 1 vs 3. Leavers leave battles. 4. In the low priority queue players receive no Gold, Black Market keys, Silver as well as they stop receiving or losing rating points. 5. There's no possibility to choose the battle mode. There's only a Random Mode available.
Why did we separate the queues? The low priority matching queue was introduced in order to protect the players who fight for the victory from those who systematically choose not to take action in battles or leave them. Each vacant place on the team lowers its chance of winning, so each leaver puts their team at a disadvantage and lets down their teammates. We do not encourage such an unsportsmanlike behavior. Also note that regular game mode doesn’t imply skipping maps. War Robots is a competitive game and it’s best played when you are able to squeeze the most out of all battlegrounds where you might be deployed, so skipping a map is also considered as leaving.
The number of matches players spend in the separate matching queue is defined by the number of matches they decided to withdraw from. So in order to return to the general matching queue you just need to play your matches from the beginning to the end. It is not necessary to win battles or hit top positions in the battle result lists, just do not leave battles. The more fair matches you play, the sooner you will return to the general queue and will be matched according to your league.
Let us know if you have any other questions about the game.
I have a pic of no rewards but don't know how to post it.

So you just sit in the corner and shut up! Not a peep out of you! When you have served your time in the timeout chair you can play with others!!! Here is your dunce cap!

They don't encourage "unsportsmanlike conduct" like leaving a game mode you don't like, but they're just fine with maxed MK2 DIESS hangars tanking to Bronze and crushing everything in sight.
Thought about an analogy, but it would be in and taste...

TDM is the mode where money can buy most advantage, because it's more about firepower&HP, and less about skill, than the other modes.
TDM is the mode where you most want to have a different set of bots (well, you can play Dom as TDM too if you want to), so it is the mode most likely to make you waste 7500 Au on 2nd hangar.
TDM is where it's at! If it wasn't for the need to drive sales of extra hangars, we'd see even more TDM, to drive sales of power.
