There is no good setup for the Raijin. Don’t waste your silver and time on it, you will scrap it later in the game. Anyway, if you really want to use it and considering that at your level you probably don’t have Embers, Redeemers, Tempests and Zeuses, run it with Thunders.

Raijin is a fun toy and in my opinion worth to be leveled to the sweet spot...even if it's just for the sake of variety.
Double Ancile Raijin is hilarious...one of the most entertaining things to run in a battle. Seriously effective if used right.
I pretty much use only 2x Ancile, 2x Thunder or 2x Tempest on my Raijin.

Mine has a Tempest and a Thunder. Tempest for general use and Thunder as secondary weapon, against anciles or when there's a red close by. Tempest kinda works same way Thunders do, as its dps increases by getting closer. A weapon combination I enjoy on my Carnage, also.

It works well in its intended fire-base role. People tend to ignore it because "Raijins aren't effective" and the Ancile/Shield combination dramatically reduces the "big bag of silver" incentive. Still, its not competitive with 12/12 component gear. At best its a reasonable alternative to other more-expensive options. The climbing ability is also extremely cool if you know how to use it. A little context: In my league I regularly see maxed component gear. One cannot effectively brawl a 12/12 MKII with a 6/9, so mid-range is pretty much the only option. Because I will not see MKII for a very long time, I am careful not to over-gun my hanger (which would push my league up). In that environment I can level a heavy weapon on the Raijin to 12 without spiking my hanger's potential damage. (a 9 Raijin with a a 9+ Ancile and a 12 Zeus has roughly the firepower of two level 6 Zeuses and a whole lot more durability.)

I'm in Diamond League and I still use Raijin in my hangar. I run it with Zeus, as I find that damage buff in Bastion Mode really helps to add to the killing power. It is a tank and sometimes I can take on a half-empty DB in close combat and kill it. I prefer the Raijin over the Carny for Zeus role because of this. Also, you don't know the definition of "awesome" until you've seen the Zeus Raijin with the Widowmaker Paintjob

Rajins shine in the lower leagues because its stock hot points are high and people will camp on a beacon to defend it. This can work in the lower levels but you will quickly find out once you rise into Master/ Champ its pretty much a giant silver bank as others have stated. Rajins even maxed cant hang against maxed Orkan blasts.

Raijin is good with Thunder for close range. Not too many options for that. For mid range, go with either Tridents or Zues. They are both pretty good, and you can graduate to a Butch or Fury later. For component options, Tempests are pretty powerful and OP if you can get them to MKII L12. They are great at both mid range and close range fighting, so there's no other weapon that can fill both roles, besides other autocannons (Molot, Molot T, Punisher, etc.) They are also long range, but dmg is pretty bad at out to 800m. Also, Dragoon is the new kid on the block. Raijin is actually one of the most powerful set ups at lower leaguers since many are noobs and don't know how to counter it. They try to use plasma or Punishers at 500m, etc. so they will spend a lot of time trying to blow up your 2 physical shields. Also, not many have Orkan yet, so if you're at that league, then that's when the Raijin is the strongest. Even up to Expert, I can do well with a Raijin, esp. now that the skill has gone down so much. Even at that level, skill plays a major role, so the Raijin needs to be played with care. Best way is to climb on top of something, and get the high ground. Then not many will expect you to be there since 99% of bots don't go up there, and awareness is generally poor still at Expert and lower. Then play peek-a-boo and unload your Tridents/Zeus and duck behind the safety of cover. It's a bit trickier now with the addition of Bastion since you want the 50% bonus for dmg, but you don't want to stay out in the open for 6 seconds (3s + 3s). Some maps play really well into that strategy, so you'll have to find your spots yourself. Probably best if multiple hangers are used so you can play the Raijin on its best maps, and then play another ranger like the Butch Treb or Fury Trident on other maps. Use Custom mode to learn how to climb. I made an extensive post on climbing, so most of it still applies. Here's an old post about climbing spots. war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/16526/raijin-good-climbing-spotsHere's my post on how to climb. Sorry, it's a bit long, really long. war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/7553/raijin

I don't agree that they're useless. I'm in champ league and run on as do several of my clean mates. We coordinate so that a couple people follow or lead it in dash bots or the like. Have fun running up on a couple orkan dashes and a twin ember raijin.

I say Widowmaker because before it was released, Pixonic did a survey on what the new paintjob should be based off of. The majority of votes went to Overwatch (they then chose Widowmaker), and thus the Black Widow paintjob was born.

Zeus, ember, tempest, and thunder Raijin are all powerful setups. The Raijin itself is a huge learning curve similar to the rhino. I have a guide that I posted on here some time ago so feel free to read it if you need help.

Have fun running up on a couple orkan dashes and a twin ember raijin. Unfortunately if it takes a pair of Kbots plus Embers to make it a threat it's just not that great in and of itself. Take away the Kbots and even with Embers it's pretty easy to deal with. They're slow and standing still is not a great combat tactic. People can just move away, pop your mates, and deal with you later.

Rinse and repeat until Rajin is dead. Even with my Roj (lvl 9 Orks) it only takes 3 or 4 goes to demolish it, imagine what a Spectre will do with level 12 Mk2 Orks. 1 Hit take down of any Rajin below level 10

Thunder Raijin can do some crazy stuff, things a lot of bots can't do. It doesn't need speed, just a clear path. Find or create a choke point. You have the same weapon as the popular Carnage, and for good reason. Twin Thunders can do 50k damage in a few taps. You're worst case scenario is people will avoid coming close to you and decide to outrange you, don't sit like a nugget... Unless you run Zeus, then sit like a nugget

At this moment 2 dragoons or 2 tempests.I remember what a beast of a build was a 2 redeemer raijin on test server, but then redeemers got nerfed too much. After this buff redeemers could be played also.It is not completaly useless even in champion. Its not like all games are vs full whale squads, there is still alot of lancelots, griffins and hovers to be hunted with those raijin builds...

You will quickly learn that Thunder Raijin is just too slow and has too short of an effective range to be a major threat to anyone that knows how to stay beyond 300m and wreck you with Tarans.
Zeus, Trident or Tempest is what I recommend, it makes a great mid-range artillery platform. Zeus is my preferred setup because they have the highest dmg output. But some people prefer tridents for the splash. If you have Tempest though, those can be amazing from what I've seen.

Raijin is good with thunders, if you're in dead city, slowly go through the sides(preferably an empty one) to their spawn(preferably with a bit of support, duh) and just kill their artillery.
P.S. I may not be the best source of information, and this advice is for domination.
Edit: when peeking out from the building after your trip, dont go bastion yet and lure them in if you dont have support, if you do have support, justgo together and try to protect your support while firing away yourself.

I run a raijin 2x zues. It's pretty effective. Once I get tired if it I seem to have a really good match with it and keep it going.
It's great for climbing and getting some nice shots on certain lvls.
Once I get it tearing up the reds 「bum-bum」 they all come for me and well that's usually it.
