The bot seems like it’s fun but rather weak. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to equip it?
Thunder gusts seem good, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it to level up a set of gusts for this bot.
Redeemer magnums seem decent but might require too much exposure.
Redeemer gusts?
I don’t have a dragon yet or I’d probably try that with magnums or gekkos
Is this bot even worth it for me to level up? It seems very costly and time consuming...

If you don’t wanna take risk then range setups is your best option bot it won’t be any fun. Try it with very high lvl ancile and gust if you want to remain alive little longer ( similar to slacker gust without stealth) . Even though it is quit weak, 5x dash are no joke specially against distracted slow and heavy bot like lance, griffin etc.Play it like you play with stalker, just keep more distance and hit them with all you got when they’re reloading or distracted.

Oh how I wish I had an ember to use on this, sadly I just have redeemers. Anciles seem okay but there’s so much plasma these days Maybe I’ll wait for an ember or possibly the release of the thermite to level this guy up. Currently It seems like it would be weaker than my kumiho

Just a guess though, I don't have 1.

I think this is another bot that just won’t get much play until some really good light and heavy weapons are released. I can imagine heavy Orkans transforming this bot into a beast or possibly the thermite with aphids

I currently run a Vityaz with Thunder/Gust in my main hangar...along with three Bulgs and a Hover. All gear is @ level 9.
The vintage Vityaz is doing its job surprisingly well. I don't own a Strider yet, but I imagine a pure shotgun build would be a pretty nasty thing. Strider has the speed for surprise attacks and could get the best out of these point blank range weapons.

With 5 dashes, why WOULDN'T you run Thunder/Gusts?? You're right, this would probably be the build that I would go with IF i were going to use the Strider. I've been watching Adrian Chong's recent video all about Gusts and tbh, this build left me a little underwhelmed because the Strider is so fragile. I would much rather have my Kumiho with Orkans, not just in playstyle and effectiveness, but also because I don't need to level up new weapons. I think I would consider leveling the bot up if I ever got my hands on a Thermite when it's released. Thermite/Aphid Strider sounds annoying as hell, quick response to almost anywhere on the map and a LOT of indirect damage. Ember is another weapon that if I got my hands on, I would consider leveling up the Strider for. People tend to want to scramble for cover when they see the Ember targeting them, so it might be effective enough on the Strider.

From experience 2 aphids on my griffins still takes a good chunk of health off of a lot of bots, you can use that thunder at point blank if someone closes the gap. i'd say that or thunder gusts, both are risky but level 12 aphids are no joke.

The Ember, being a sustained damage weapon, really needs to sit on target for several seconds for it to do maximum damage. if you're running around and dashing around, instead of doing pppfffffffffff damage, you're doing pf pf pf pf damage....if that makes sense!

Using a 10/11 thunder gust in android expert. If the winds are with me I can take down 3-4 reds on average. It is a great build for rogatka/kumiho types who like the thrill of a swift glass cannon ride. I feel like an ancile would be smarter but I'm all about maximum shotgunnage > pragmatism unfortunately

Maybe it's just because Adrian Chong is in Champion league, but the Thunder Gust Strider seemed very underwhelming in his hands. What level do you think the Gusts/Thunder would start to be effective?

If you don't want to level up gusts, then I would use thunder/magnum/magnum or thunder/punisher/punisher. Both are effective IMO.

The problem is that it's either the Strider or the Kumiho for me, not both. I think the Kumiho with Orkans(or Tarans) are more effective and suit my playstyle better. I think I just need to wait for better heavy/light weapons and shelf the bot for now. Maybe it'll find a spot in my 2nd hangar when I do decide to put together and upgrade bots/weapons for a second hangar.

endyu Don't shelf the strider! It's a great bot that can easily cap 2 or even 3 beacons in less than 20 seconds depending on the map. Ofc, it's your choice, but I would use it if I were you.

Trust me, I want to be able to use it. I was so excited seeing the results of the super chest, but after watching a lot of videos, I can't say that i'm all that excited anymore. The Kumiho seems like the better bot with the current weapons out or if light weapons get a buff. Not just the weapons, but the height of the Kumi is such an asset on certain maps. As it is right now, two Pinatas are worse than 1 Orkan. Two magnums do less burst damage than one Taran, and the Strider isn't a bot that can stay out in the open for a long time. Aphids are solid for a light weapon, and the Thermite would definitely make me want to play the Strider.

I'd say wait til the Thermite comes out and then re-evaluate. If you want to use it, then depending on your play style, you could throw an Ancile on it and use it for coop team play.
If it were me though, and I got a Strider, I'd be running it as an assassin bot and putting Thunder/Gusts on it. Sure, it's glass cannon, but the game meta is heading in that direction anyway. One of the golden rules of this game is to play to your bot's strengths. 5 dashes plus a decent ground speed means that you can get from cover to cover, and into a red's face so fast that they won't know their bot is toast until their select new bot screen comes up. I probably wouldn't put it in my small map hangar either because I can probably run through large maps pretty fast in a Strider and get into ambush position before I take too many sniper hits.

Do it, and either finish unloading the Ember so it will charge up full (if you have the chance), or stop firing immediately as you temporarily abandon target. It’s not like you didn’t do any damage yet, and there’s nothing wrong with whittling away an opponent - that’s the way to keep Kamiho alive much longer. Same here, shoot them, duck away, return and fire, duck away - peekaboooooo, they’re dead. If you stay in the fight while shooting, it is possible with practice to keep dashing sideways to avoid most hits while staying on target. Ju gotta keep trying though, until ju gets the knack of it eh

Have taken on 4 ember/mags in my orkan kumi for 4 kills and barely a scratch on me. Ember is awesome but it is the most easily.dodged weapon in the game. If I was running a strider (and from what I've seen I wouldn't) I'd be using thunder with pinata, that way you have an answer to gary and Kumi.

Thermite + 2 Aphids is some serious damage and if you need, you can make it across half the map in a few seconds to escape people going after you. I will slowly get my guy to a decent level for the day I get a Thermite

As I said above I'm yet to have even a small amount of trouble with Striders in the field. 15 second cool down and no other defences. Kumi is better for beacon capping, Haechi and Bulg are WAY better for assault. Strider is like hover, has a cool trick but in reality he's just a little bit behind. New heavy weapons that suit him could well turn that around though and I'd be curious to see the Ancile version in play. Grats on scoring one by the way, they DO look like awesome fun! Superchest roll?
