This is what is happening to me, I suspect most 1 year players are experiencing the same I am E2 also, made it mostly with my brawling hangar, leveled to 9/10 max because I don't want to deal with MK2 whales, I have 4 dashes and many other DIESS gears, all from grinding and buying cheap golds in the good old days when we can choose our battle modes.
Update 3.6 forced me to get a second hangar, with faster bots and longer range, which I didn't mind because my second hangar is full of fun bots, trouble is they are not leveled.
Now I rarely press the battle button, my main hangar, which is quite strong, is only good for BR and Dom. My second hangar designed for the rest of the game modes, is not ready. I am afraid of dropping leagues and getting less supply drops.
So by default, I am doing the #nobattleFeb challenge whether I like it or not. I am not totally out, but I hardly play at all. Its a shame because I really enjoyed this game. In the past whenever I sit out to level my hangar I would quickly run out of silver but with the supply drops and leveling only from 5 to 10, silver is no longer a problem. Also by default, I am planning to skip the Lunar event, I have no way of screening out TDM for beacon tasks so it will be just a waste of time. Besides, I don't know what to do with my 10th magnum and 5th treb.
If only they would give away a bot for the #nobattleFeb challenge, I can make a really cool video on that! Of course the video would only last 30 seconds.

Wasnât suppose to stop tanking. Where in Pixonic articles did you read that it was meant to? The way I see it, Gold is more important than any other resource so where can you get tons of it?...Exactly... 1/2 right. We've been 「female dog」ing for ages for improved resource aquirement, and this is their attempt to alleviate that. But gold is hardly the most valuable resource, silver is.

The only reason I even open the game anymore is just to open the supply chests. I'm not going to be forced to play game modes that I don't want to play. I'm certainly not going to volunteer for another stint in PIXONIX's purgatory. If I didn't have mild forms of OCD and Asperger's I would have been quit of the game a looong time ago. I'm hanging onto a very tiny shred of hope that this Random 「dookie」 and events will implode on PIXONIC and we can all get back to combat for combat's sake and winning for winning's sake. But the light is rapidly fading as that long black train leaves me behind in the dark.

Interesting...I was going say I disagree because I have 350 million silver, 400+ million at one point, and have been a few months now, while on the other hand, I’m gold broke. And yes, I’m still spending silver to upgrade weapons to level 12 non-stop 24/7 in case you’re wondering. What I do is I spend a few gold on royale to get “premium” to get 50% more silver for every successful wins in matches. You will always get it within 2-4 tries guaranteed. Once you do, take advantage of it. The higher damage dealt you do, the more silver you’ll get. And maximize it’s time frame, sometimes you’ll get 6 hours sometimes 12 hours and 24 hours so you need to schedule your time when you can play the most.

Low to mid leagues - gold Higher leagues - gold/silver (depends) Play a lot - gold (have enough silver especially with constant premium) Frequently purchasing whale - silver

Same here, I have about 100 mil silver and hardly any gold. I also agree gold is more valuable; with premium you mentioned I can make couple million silver a day, enough to cover all upgrades. Gold is harder to get even with playing a lot because MM can put you on a weak team many times in a row and you get no gold. Also, people don't think about it but parts can be sold for silver. Sure, some are too valuable to sell but if you don't care for certain weapons/bots you can sell the parts. I actually counted and I'm sitting on 16 mil silver in parts.

I can see that at some point upgrades cost so much that you need a lot of silver. However, simple fact remains that you can buy silver with gold but not the other way around. Therefore, if you are whale that spends a lot you can have plenty of silver too.

I don't spend gold on the royales, they are a massive "「fluffernutter」 you" to the players. I buy my premium.

I'm not exactly a tanker but I was floating between Master I and Champion for a while. And I didn't really care if I was pushed down to Master I because it meant a handful of games where I could get decent damage and Silver in and would not have to get the heck annoyed out of me by Shocktrain whiners and whale squads.
Now the difference between Champ and Master for the supply drops is quite significant especially in terms of keys, and it has motivated me to try to stay in Champ.
Do I believe it will fix the tanking problem? Hell no. But maybe it makes it a bit better, and hopefully even a bit more once the battle rewards hit.

A fair question and one I wish I could definitively answer. I myself heard this through another post which is why I say 'Word is' but I do not know this for a fact. At a guess I would say that enough whales are even disappointed with having their last toys given away and reduced in strength when they paid hundreds of $'s to get them. Maybe even they can see the pattern and will simply wait for them to be given away. After all they currently still hold an advantage over the rest of the majority of pilots. Point: They still own the top tech and do not need another OP bot to stay on top AND Pix has made certain that few can afford the Specter. ($300 for a single bot in an entire game...really. That is like one unit among many, a single knight on a chess board and you want what? Plus you will only nerf and give it away in an event in three months...okay well go luck with that.) Happy Hunting. I think the attitude of the whales will be very important to the new bots provided the new bots are OP. It could potentially make or break the game. If the spectre is OP but the whales (money whales and addict whales) do not purchase but persevere with their old stuff than the gig is up for Pixonic and for all players as under those circumstance their monetization strategy in its current form has failed. So we need to watch the speed of uptake of these bots and also the revenue generated. Its still too early but I sense the whales are holding their money so far (more than with the dashes). But how long will this continue before they will start purchasing because the other guy has bough it and now has an advantage over them. If it is a flop than Pix will buff the new stuff really fast. If the whales still don’t buy they will drop the price. At a certain price point they will sell for sure but will that be enough revenue to keep the company profitable. Lets see what happens next. Lets see the level of apathy amongst the whales. Great post and I agree with your points. F2P players loathe the P2W Whales, yet it’s the P2W Whales that keep the game afloat (no pun intended). The irony in all of this...

The irony in all of this... Like, if you're not paying, you're the product (== Mk2 cannon fodder)? I can see how this is a valid theory. There are better ways out there to monetize games, though. Ones that are less frustrating to F2P players.
