I've been trying to get into higher leagues recently. I still have fun in Gold 2, but i run into too many tankers with MKII dash bots to get and keep a high win percentage. I have mostly level 7-9 bots and weapons, with only one Inquisitor that i was lucky to win as my only premium bot. I also have one tempest and three storms, at levels 7-9. I was hoping some people would be able to give me some good advice on what to run. I also have aphids, gekkos, and two more thunders at levels similar to my current hangar. In terms of bots, I have at least one of every bot except for the Wild Bunch, Galahad, Gareth, and Dash Bots. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Im trying to climb higher up in anticipation of Supply Drops. Thanks in advance. My Current Hangar

Just take a peek at the hangars the Legend List is running. I have, but unfortunately everyone there is running MKII dash bots with ShockTrains, orkans, and tarans, not much else. But hey, if I could run what they run, I would.

This desire to rise through the Leagues is just what Pix is counting on to motivate you to spend your dough. Trust me, the happiest place in War Robots is where you are or lower.

But still I don't like getting clubbed by everything Pix has being thrown at me, also there's much better rewards for Supply Drops up there, and I don't spend money except for an occasional gold purchase.

My Current Hangar I can speak to this: Right now I'm in the middle of a challenge to see how high I can get with all silver, all level 6 gear (only using 4 slots) - in spite of my gear being slightly behind yours I'm still at your level. My hanger is an RDB, 2 Punisher griffs and a Thunder Punisher leo - on occasion I swap a punisher grif for a Thunder pinta leo. By all accounts you should be faring a bit better than I am but you aren't. 1. Put the tarans and a thunder on the lance - brawl with it. 2. Keep the DB but be careful with it - it is a great bot when you have 5 slots, but it is high risk. 3. Find a bot with some mid range punch and use it to linger longer in the game. An RDB can let you chip away at range and from safety, or tulu's on the fujin. 4. The jury is still out on the storm, you might want to re-concider it -- or give it a whirl on the inquisitor with thunders. A skill gap might exist -- hard to say from a screen shot.

If you really wanna go up here is a suggestion for an interim hanger that's achievable with reasonable ease.
Lancelot: keep. At least one more level. Put tarans and ancile on it. Ancile should be at least 10 or 11. Really week below that. Tarans the higher the better obviously but L11 is a good interim target. Fujin: ditch. Put in a plasma griff Inquisitor. Keep. Level to 9 at least DB griff keep.
Get a 5th slot. I would put in a beacon guy. You implied you have a rog. Put tarans on him. Level him to 9 at min. Comes alive at 11.
Traditional, advice says to level you hanger equally. I' d say sway from it. Level ur fav bot to 9 and weapons on it to 10 as a priority. Do the same to the next fav bot. Use ads to speed up upgrades. Getting to

Getting to I second this. Moreover, depending on your resources, you could put Orkans/Thunder on your Inquisitor and a midranger in the 5th slot (Zeus Carnage, Zeus Fury, Zeus Gekko Natasha, RDB Griffin if you want something cheap, Tempest Punisher Leo). The hangar that T34 suggested is MUCH stronger than yours.

I have 5 slots running in d1.
Current hangar,bot/ weapon level
Db griffin 7/8 Leo thunder pinata 9/8 Tharnage. 7/8 Lance ancile taran 6/6/8/10 Haechi orkan. 7/8 (won a week ago)
I have to be patient with this hangar but I fair pretty well most matches if I manage to play smart.
My plan is to level bots to 9, the speed break, and weapons to 8, save the one taran mistake early on. I see several people with only 4 slots up here that do well.
Suggestions More orkan for your fujin and grab some tarans and magnums for a 2nd griffin fifth slot prep.

Hmm tbh you shouldnt be in gold with the stats youve got, you must be playing some awesome games but then lots of real bad ones! Ill agree with the majority that your hangar isnt setup efficently.
the Lance is wasted with punTs, they work well with a griff and 2 more baby punishers that will give you a good 350+M ancile shreader, if you jump in and time it right this setup can decimate bots! : ) Keep the DB griff but dont go gunhoe with it.. its awesome but needs timing! Ide remove the storms from play.. theres a reason pix are giving them away! The only setup ive found the storm/gust usefull is on a beacon capper, mine are on a gareth and work great against plasma bots. : )
Once your hangar is setup correct and you damage in the top 3 regardless of win rate you should creep up in the leagues, its about being consistently good regardless of what you face in battle. good luck : )

Unless u spend tons of money, u will always get clubbed. Also, the higher u climb, the more strong shields u see, means u will have to play a lot more team oriented.

My Current Hangar Off the bat at first glance the fujin is not the best choice for the storm since it is a slower mech at 44km/hr and you have to take wide turns when going around corners because of its long legs and the ancile only works when the mech is stationary, 500m+ weapons are the more sensible choice. The storm isn't effective until you get within 200m, so you would want to put those on a mech that goes 50kp/hr or faster. Take the punishers off the lance n put those on your fujin and two storms w/thunder on you lance. The lance has the boost so it's more capible of getting in closer to the enemy without them being able to escape. Or you save the boost for your retreat and sneak up on pilots that are engaged in combat, it's hard to pay attention to anything else when when you are focusing on attacking someone. Patience is the most important and hardest discipline in the game to remember, but if your patient and take your time to survey the entire red team then you can pick your target more wisely. Lances strength is against plasma it's weakness is ballistics just going after the first red you can get to is gambling is you don't know what weapons they have but if you know who has plasma n who has missiles you can wisely choose which target you will have best odds of beating and be able to avoid the bots that will kill you. Know your enemy!

Also, I just got the hover--- I was actually somewhat lucky with the black market--- so is there any place it would fit in? From what I've heard, its good for quickly capturing the center beacon in Beacon Rush. But no matter what, you have been a big help and I will use the bots you mentioned above and see how they work out.

Getting to This advise doesn't help him right now at all he is not a big coiner and has played under 1300 games. Chances are he doesn't have 100 silver and 5k gold to use for upgrades he does buy gold but who buys silver unless you make 6 figure income buying silver is foolishly expensive. Your weapon/mech combos are all solid but he is limited to lower levels. He thinks being in a higher league will equal more fun maybe, idk, he is still a noon and needs to just play the game with experience he will start advancing in the leagues

The OP already has all the bots and/or can buy them easily because they are cheap. He just needs to buy its 5th slot, and to be honest he should have already bought it...I had my 5th even before my 1000th victory.

Moreover, the Fujin is not so good. Change it with a Taran Magnum Griffin. Follow what T34 suggested, it's by far the best advice in my opinion.

But no matter what, you have been a big help and I will use the bots you mentioned above and see how they work out. I have no advice regarding the hover or inquisitor I'm sorry they are too new n I've never used them. The best way for you to learn what weapon combos work on which robots is by simply experimenting. There were a few guys that suggested punishers are best played on the griffin they are no good on the lance, DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT! I've been playing this game going on 3 years now and can count on 1 hand the number of lances I have seen running punishers so i know those guys have never tried running that combo. I stopped running tarans on my lance because it's still in the top 3 mech on the field and I got tired of fighting a plasma lance with my plasma lance I run the tempest and either molots or punishers on my lance and guess what those plasma lances on the red team run from my punisher lance its the plasma lances worst enemy. I highly suggest leaving the punishers on your lance and use it to target plasma ancilots, all plasma lances, and yes even the db lance. It's range is 500 DO NOT ENGAGE UNTIL YOUR BOOST IS AVAILIBLE walk into range (500m) stop, once you start hitting them and they start walking towards you slowly walk in reverse let them close the distance. You should be able to pop their shield before they reach 350m and you'll also be close to or out of ammo at that point. Chances are they used their boost trying to get to you and have used it up by the time the get into taran range. But while they were trying to just get close enough to you to hit you, you will have popped their front shield and right when then reach 360m or when your clip is empty hit the boost and walk backwards, as long as you use it BEFORE they reach 350m even if they saved theirs they cannot get into range until after your punishers have reloaded and by this time you'll be able to go toe to toe with them and win because you'll still have your shield. Now Good players will know not to mess with you but the majority of pilots underestimate a ballistic lance and will commit to chargeing you. The keys is patience by staying back, 400m is ideal, if you egage eachother at the same time under 350m you will be killed during your first reload the key is fooling them into charging you before they are in taran range. I like to let them get into range halfway through my first reload, they will be more likely to keep advancing towards you if you let them get into range. It allows them a false sense of hope and they will commit completely. The pilots in diamond and below aren't experienced enough to realize their shield is popped and since very few people do not use the machine gun weapons pilots are ignorant to the fact their shield can be popped so quickly. Ok so you have busted through the first portion of the lances 3 part shield which in most cases is the lower or center portion which is why they don't know their shield is popped because they can still see the section that you can see poking up a couple inches on the left side that section is normally the last section that falls off since most noobs under 2,00 games don't even know the lances shield breaks off in three pieces they think they still have their shield. If you can do that to a plasma lance before their tarans start hitting you and your already reloading it's ok you will win. They will pop your shield right before or at the same time you finish reloading now they have to reload and you can drop 60 to 70 % of their health in the tarans 5 second reload time before they can fire back and it's game over. I now use molots on my lance punishers on my maxxed mk2 fujin, 3 lvl 12 punishers will cause 501,000 damage under 250m with a full clip and do 1.5x damage to physical shield's at any range.

That's why I'm keeping it no matter what (or at least until I get a second tempest, then I'll probably run a tempest raijin/ Natasha) But I like that you see the true power of those tiny little bullets.

If you want to go higher in leagues to get better goodies, that is one thing. Keep in mind that the equipment you face will get better and better, there are only more mkII Dash bots and cocktrains the further you go up. All those tankers had to come from somewhere.
With that said, you want max damage to rise up in leagues. It doesn't even matter if you win or lose, just that you have the highest consistent damage. To get that, as was said before, level up the first heavy hitter that you usually drop. You always play the first bot every game, and you only sometimes play the 5th bot in longer games. If you spread your resources around evenly, the resources you spend on the 5th bot may not even provide any dividends on games where you don't even drop the 5th bot. But a maxed first bot always rewards you with high damage every game.
By maxed first bot, I mean first heavy hitter that you drop. Many people drop a beacon capper as their first bot, as do I. I actually don't mind if my beacon capper gets the beacons and then dies an honorable death, as it gets my heavy hitter into the game sooner. So I don't max out my beacon capper or put powerful weapons on it compared to the max damage bot that follows.
This is a big one: pace your aggression with the beacon bar. If the beacon bar is dwindling very quickly, get super aggressive and rush into the enemy, trying to unload your full salvo before you die. If the game is even 2:3 on beacons for the whole game, slow down and pace it out so that you use all your bots and end up on you fifth bot nearly dead as the beacon bar finishes at the 7-10 minute mark.
Pacing is the hardest thing to train yourself to do. Most games are quick, those ones you have to be ultra aggressive in the short time you have. But the slow games, you have to slow down a lot or you'll be going 1 vs 3 a lot of the time, then meching out early while your teammates rack up the damage in your absence.
Apply that idea of pacing to your game but keep in mind if your first good damage bot is maxed out or at a much higher level than your others, you may want to keep that one alive for as long as you can. I try to keep my Haechi Orkan alive for a long time because it has maxed mkI weapons. I still don't like to stand around idling with fully loaded Orkans, but I don't waste him by rushing in as much. I try to take potshots when they aren't looking. But when he's dead, I pace myself with the beacon bar with my remaining weaker bots.

This desire to rise through the Leagues is just what Pix is counting on to motivate you to spend your dough. Trust me, the happiest place in War Robots is where you are or lower. I agree with this.
I remember I was in the same boat. Once I was stuck in high silver league, struggling for gold. Whenever I approached gold league, I fell into a losing streak. And I was jealous of of other people who wrote here that they were in higher leagues than me with equipment that was inferior to mine. It seemed like I could never reach gold league. But then suddenly something strange happened. There was an event with special tasks and extra rewards. I wanted those stuff and played more to carry out those event tasks. I didn´t change anything, not my playstyle and nothing in my hangar (except the continous upgrade of all my stuff). The only thing I changed was playing more than before. While completing those event tasks, suddenly I was in gold league. I just played and played and played. I was only focused on those event tasks and then I was in diamond league, just a few days after I entered gold league. At the end of the event I was close to expert league, where I am now. Things seem to repeat. Again there is a limit I can´t break. Now it´s at ~3500 league points (Expert II). I just can´t get it, no matter what I do. I was in Expert II a few times for a couple of matches, but I lost them all and was ranked down again.
My advise for you: Don´t care about leagues. There is almost no advantage to be in a higher league. My win rate is still the same. I have had easy matches and very hard matches in gold league as well as in expert league. My chance for getting 5 gold for top score or most beacons hasn´t changed either. Only once in a month you are rewarded for your league, but this little extra gold isn´t worth the commotion.

LEAGUE RANK IS MEANINGLESS AS LONG AS PLAYERS CAN EASILY MANIPULATE THEIR STANDING.
Don't worry about it. Play the bots and weapons YOU like and do your best with them. As long as you're playing to win, blue team will benefit no matter what gear you bring to the fight. I've even got gold for damage running Cossacks and a Destrier all with lvl 6 weapons, simply by playing to win. Right now I'm running 2 Stalkers, 2 Geps and a Rog in Gold 1, all lvl 6, cuz they're FUN, and I contribute meaningfully every game.
We have to get back to playing for fun, and stop chasing the carrot.

Ironically, I'm trying to FALL down the leagues without tanking on purpose. Ever since I got the new weapons and got into Expert, I've unconsciously been adding heavier and heavier bots back into my hangars and yesterday, I realized I wasn't having as much fun anymore. I even built a spam bot: Hydra/Nori Griffin just for kicks. FWIW, it didn't go so well. I even spent whatever gold I had left upgrading weapons that I won't be using right away anymore. Sigh... I just rejigged my hangars this morning and took out my Fury, Natasha, Leo and Tarancilot and put back in Taran Rogatka, Aphid Stalker, Gekko Gepard and Tulu Rog. It's easy to get sucked into wanting to climb the league ladder - even for me! What I really wanted was another Hover...but I'm nowhere near one yet on components. Really hope the new WSP 2.0 comes out soon. I can see myself getting more of this bot. It's so fun.
Anyway for the OP, I would drop the Storms on the Fujin. Storms are great for ultra close range combat, which the Fujin does NOT do well at. If you're good with the Fujin, I'd suggest Tarans instead or even Orkans. For the Inquisitor, plan on getting either an Ember or Redeemer for the heavy weapon and maybe switch the Tarans out for Orkans. Get an Ancile for the Lancelot and run it as a Tarancilot. Get the 5th slot and get some type of beacon runner. Either a Rogatka, Rhino, Stalker or Gareth.
On the other hand, if I were you, I'd try to stay in Gold as long as possible. There's no point to climb the leagues to avoid tankers because guess what? You'll see MORE of them the higher you go, except they won't be on the red team on the way up anymore. They will be on YOUR team on the way down!

Want to move up? Do more damage, on average, than your teammates. Want to move down? Do less damage, on average, than your teammates.
My theory: Beacons don't win matches over the long run - the matchmaker does. Assuming you don't actively manipulate the matchmaker, it will ensure you win roughly 50% of your matches over the long run. So anything you put in your hangar to get more beacons won't change the rate at which you win matches - it will just be a setup to ensure that you capture a larger share of beacons (and typically a lower share of damage) among your teammates who are also winning roughly 50% of their matches.
So again: Want to move up? Put in 5 max-damage setups. PDB is great for overall damage, although be sure to include some rockets for use against physical shields. Maybe put tempest/molot on your Lancelot until you open the fifth slot, but then go all Tarans and Orkans with maybe one shotgun build (not Fujin!). Want to move down? Shift to a beacon-capping role so you still feel like you're making a difference in the match. Just realize that you're going to win 50% anyway because you'll get paired with stronger or weaker teammates depending on whether you've been winning or losing lately (independent of league rank), so damage focus will move you up while anything else will move you down.

1. Put the tarans and a thunder on the lance - brawl with it. Thunder Orkan or Ancile Taran are the consensus best Lancelot builds. Many players will argue that Ancile Taran is by far the best one. Otherwise, Storm is a bad setup for the Fujin. It's too slow, and it has to get too close so it can't use its shield. Use Orkans, Tarans or Tulumbas on that Fujin. Then, get the 5th slot and add a midranger. I'd recommend to work towards a Tempest Punisher or Zeus Gekko Natasha. If you're lacking Tempests or gold, a RDB Griffin is fine (Tulus/Pins) as a placeholder. (It's possible that you like the RDB so much that you'll keep it permanently in your hangar.) Put the Storms on a Dash bot if you get your hands on one, or build a Thunder/Storm/Gust Golem. Having said that, I agree with the others noting that you'll get clobbered in higher leagues. Unless you spend thousands of dollars, Gold/Diamond are the leagues where you'll have fun.
