Okay as a returning player who played in the time of “complain about p2w plasma gareths” and “omg thunder schutzes are the reason I live”
what is this mk 2 system and how does it work

You give up all progress and the weapon resets to lvl 1 but is 20% powerful than a standard weapon.
this means a Mk2 weapon will do LESS damage than a Mk1 L12 weapon until it reaches level 10.

Welcome back and mk2 allows you once you have put a weapon or bot to level 12 you can take it back to level 1 but at a higher damage or hit point or speed. So once you have leveled it up to mk2 level 12 it can do more than it could at regular level 12

LOL. MK2 is a way for non-DIESS players (with lots of Ag) to have a fighting chance against people running Component gear. But you do need to max it out in MK2 to get that extra 20%.
Welcome back Salty.

The comment about faster speed above is not correct - only better health or better damage at lvl 10-12

Flanking with these types are brilliant outer-turret defenses and keep enemy pack advances in check with spray damage.

Yes, I run knife fighters with Tarans and Orkans but I also run a Punisher Griffin sometimes, and I like it, but against Dash Bots (which I don't own) it's simply not so good. A Thunder Punisher Leo is probably more versatile, because the Thunder gives you enough punch to kill enemies at very close range and to annihilate Ancile shields faster.

What league are you playing and what level component bots are you killing. I have a thunder punisher Leo in 3 separate accounts and do well with it but I am under no illusion that I would not do better with an ork haechi.

It's fun taking out Ancilots and Carnages that mistake my Leo for an "easy" target. And I'll dive right into a pack of red bots trying to take my beacon. May not get them all, but they will walk away with a bad limp. ?

Overconfident opponents with their kbots and "indestructible" Ancilots charging at my Leo usually results in a shredded pile of red bot rubble. If I catch 2-3 wounded reds in a group, they are toast. My Leo dies just like any other bot, but generally he dishes out the hurt before going down. I can survive multiple Zeus/Treb Fury hits too, which is a bonus on long maps.

Are MK2 upgrade times similar to MK1? Yep. Cost is about the same too, near as I can tell. I sped upgrades rather than using the free spins. Since I play 40-50 games a day, it knocked off a boatload of waiting time.

Given that that is the exact same platform and league as my own. A lev12 mk 2 leo would slaughter any of my bots

moody Thing is, it's only one bot in my hanger. Choosing the right time to drop it makes a big difference in success or failure...had a few of those too. Sometimes, like on Moon, I'll drop the Leo to clear out the tunnel. Might not actually do it, but my teammates won't be wasting rounds on anciles. Same with the center beacon on Yama. I may not see the promised land, but the reds won't either.

The "fun" part is dropping 500Au for the bot and each weapon. I started with the light weapons first because they upgrade faster. The Thunder on my Leo took some serious grind time.

I may not see the promised land, but the reds won't either. Of course. I will say that in a one on one battle on an open field, your leo would get the better of any one of my bots. I do actually have a punisher leo that is leveled up to the same as the rest of my hangar (I have about 15 level 9 bots). But it's firepower would be 30% down and its health 36% down from yours. I think you would walk away with maybe one gun gone and half your health remaining. Back to the topic - I would bet on my orkan haechi (Lev 9 with 10,11,11 orkans) would be able to best your leo in a one on one competition. That bot is truelly overpowered.

Dos anyone know if an MK2 ancile bot like carnage gets the additional 20% boost to its ancile HP as well, or just the base HP increase to the bot itself?
Thanks in advance. My only MK2 anything is a golem (so cheap to upgrade!), but I am toying with boosting a carnage, which is also comparatively inexpensive to level.
