I assume that most (besides Adrian Chen) agree that the top bots are Haechi, Bulgesari, Inquisitor, Lance, Fury, Kumiho. What are the best of the rest? If that top 6 is wrong, write your own top 6 in the comments.

Hover, Rog, Doc, Carnage, Gareth, Golem. I am kicking myself for not including Doc. I was not intending to include any light bots though.

Hover, Griffin, and either Carnage or Rog. All very versatile mid range to cqc load-outs. All have mobility as well.

When you exclude all the recent dash and inq, I feel almost all the remaining bots are balanced and serve heir intended purposes, with the notable exception of the destrier, which is completely superseded by the stalker.

Hover because it beats Griffin due to +health and + speed, Rhino because it beats Griffin due to +speed and +shield, Carnage because it still shreds even though storm bulg/roach are better

Hover because it beats Griffin due to +health and + speed, Rhino because it beats Griffin due to +speed and +shield, Carnage because it still shreds even though storm bulg/roach are better I picked carnage, hover, griff b/c griff has better escape ability than Rhino but I could easily make the case for Rhino. A skilled rhino pilot is fun to watch. I think availability bias is a factor for Griff as well. If more people tried hover, I think it would probably come in 1st or 2nd on this list along with carnage.

It feels like they know they messed up with the dash bots and that anything sub kumi/rog beefiness is a joke. It’s still a joke compared to dash bots tho

Picked only golem. ASk me why?. Cause I maxed them to mk2 and I wreck just about all griffins with it. They realize it's too late once they've emptied their whole salvo on me now my thunder orkans and piñata are still firing.

Mine holds up pretty well against pretty much anything if I can get the right spot and rain down on people.

Griffin and carnage are better than the butch, hover, raijin and rhino? Something is VERY wrong here.

Griffin and carnage are better than the butch, hover, raijin and rhino? Something is VERY wrong here. Butch is specialist mech, good at exactly ONE thing. No one will dispute its mastery of the Sniper role, however that's a very limited niche. Griff and Carnage are both good at just about everything. Hover...haven't used one, can't say. Have a few nice Hover cockpits hanging above my mantle from before I retired from War Robots. Didn't meet very many, but the few I did meet weren't much to write home about. Was like a Griffin except more floaty...floatier means more shootier for me. Raijin...umm, is good at...sitting? Sitting hard? Raijin isn't good at anything except attracting enemy fire. And in the one category it's mediocre at (sniping), there are far superior choices. Rhino, much as I love it, is sadly a death-trap since the advent of Dash mechs. It hasn't got enough HP to make up for its lack of mobility, and it's capable of dodging precisely nothing. Now, if the DEISS gear is taken off the table, IMHO the Rhino is definitely up there along with the Lancelot, based on personal experience. In a dashless world, Rhino and Griffin are roughly tied for viability, Rhino for sheer power and Griffin for versatility. Griffin is also much easier to use (hence the large number of players claiming the Rhino is garbage), and Carnage is similarly easy, thus giving them a slight edge for most players.

I think the hover will eventually surprise quite a few people. Its got a lot of depth to it. It can be played as a brawler, ambusher, support, diversion and capper and will be good in at least two of those roles depending on the loadout. I started out with tulu/pins in support/air support and was able to competently perform the function while still capping more than enough beacons. Now I'm loaded ala DB and ambushing/brawling (offed my first ancilot today). I drop down right behind them into their ancile and unload then fly back up to search for the next victim. I've just gotten the 2nd one levelled with gust/storms. Working on a third for PDB setup for my next experiment...playing the hover like pseudo griffs and will see where it gets me.

Ppl say it is much weaker than a dash, but I have had my kumiho wrecked a few times by a hover sneak attack. It has 2 med and 1 light hardpoint -- more than a kumiho -- and can get to many beacons faster than a dash can. Air support is super cool but I can't really justify it in my strarting 5 unless I want to ditch a bot that will be generally higher damage. Scourge is pretty fun on them because there is nowhere for red to hide. Once you lock on from the air or from high ground, they can't use broken ground to block the scourge and most cover is similarly useless.

It has 2 heavy and 1 light hardpoint -- more than a kumiho -- and can get to many beacons faster than a dash can. 2 meds 1 light hardpoint, bud. I'll admit I dont like running heavies. Im just not patient enough to walk to a battle. This is as close to a griff as I'm probably going to get. I consider it a fair trade off though as the hover is great at getting into position so my rockets dont hit cover too much. Its also not that big of a shift from either griff or rog to pilot. It slots in the middle quite nicely ability wise. In the end, i think its a matter of proficiency. I can usually match my jesses damage output with what I can accomplish with other mechs in my lineup. Damage improves with proficiency.

And you arent killing me with your rhino while I'm in my griffin. Ever. Because rhinos are garbage. And griffins aren't. Hope this clarifies things for you.

No idea what that even means, don't care. The point is that rhinos are trash. Don't use them. There are FAR better resource sinks in this game for the wsp, not to mention time and silver.

Rambo Galahad! Love it right now. Maybe not the bot to end all bots, but it ends at least one and a pile of anciles each match.
