I've been playing all Beacon Rush for a while, because it's my favorite game mode by a mile. So I was naturally pissed off when Pixonic wouldn't let me select it in update 3.5. In the course of being pissed off, I decided to load out a troll hangar and let out my frustrations in Deathmatch. It looked like this:  - 6/8 Zenit Fury
- 10/9/8 Thunder Orkan Lancelot
- 6/8 Zenit Fury
- 10/9/8 Thunder Orkan Lancelot
- 7/8 Zenit Fury
So I won't lie, I was being an ?poo place?. The progression looked like this: - Wait for others to spawn first, and select a protected position.
- At spawn, wait a few moments for reds to settle into a covered position in their preferred range.
- Zenit the crap out of them with a Fury.
- As reds get pissed off and charge, start moving away from the spawn point. Let them follow, draw them away.
- When they begin to really unload their clip, eject. They will likely unload their whole clip on an already dead bot. (Did I already say I'm an ?poo place??)
- Spawn the Lancelot into the spawn point right behind them, and blow up their hindparts. Since they unloaded their clip and I'm probably still strong, reload and charge any nearby reds on a suicide run.
- Spawn another Zenit Fury and repeat steps 3-6. Since the reds are pretty angry at this point, be thoughtful about your spawn point. The farther away and more protected by cover and allies, the better. It's great to make them work for the kill. (Or the privilege of watching me eject.)
I got quite a few evil laughs out of this, so I kept doing it for a dozen matches or so. But then I discovered something... I was winning a higher percentage of matches. And scoring well.
Strategies started developing, partnering with other knife fighters and mid-rangers. I was like the bush-beater in a bird hunt. In deathmatch, reds are often hiding and waiting for you to make the first move out from cover and kill you. This turns the tables. So, as I kept up my troll strategy, I started positioning myself behind well-covered teammates. They score kill after kill as I was bringing to them a very angry and uncovered line of targets. Sometimes I would eject into a Lancelot and help, then resume the barrage. The more huddled we were, the more we kicked ?bum-bum?.
Bottom line, I'm an ?poo place? but it surprisingly works in this game mode. Time to start leveling up this Zenits and see where it goes.

This is great. I'd much rather folk take their aggression/frustration out in wierd/trollish setups than to drop down to Bronze and Club like Kanye when he is looking for attention. And then, it seems, you found a way to make it work in a serious manner.
Same thing happened to me using a Patton Nori on an alt account. The goal was to stay in Silver to be able to squad with a family member. So I would drop in the Patton and just spam noris, focusing on staying alive and that was it. (Note this is AFTER the reworking of the range and the flight time on Noris)
Anyway, I was getting max damage and wins a lot more than I wanted. I was playing all out because I can't just pretend to play, it's some flaw in my character and I try to win every game. I figured sub par weapons would equal sub par results. Then, I realized that the Noris are damned powerful indirect weapons at 500-350m. Very fast flight time and compact Splash area. Perfect for that beacon in PP next to the one in the Bay when 3 reds are guarding it from cover.
I ended up using it for a while and on into the Gold leagues once my Family member had gotten tired of getting clubbed by Mark 2s and quit. (Pissed me off because we had little time to play together and this game was a GREAT way to play as a team.) Anyway, I found that this build is damn good against Anciles if they are similarly leveled as the Noris. Fire them off 1 right after the other and you can drop a Carny Ancile and maybe get some damage in by the time the 4th one lands, as the previous 3 are usually enough to drop it all the way.
I moved to a Jesse and was all of a sudden the only support bot in most games taking 4-5 beacons and constantly hitting other Arty Bots, Snipers and Ancile bots. So much fun killing an Arty Natty with a freaking Jesse Nori. Leading the target is all you really have to learn, besides realizing that if a target is moving towards or away from you, it will be a miss.

Once in a while I have some fun with my 9/9 Zenit Fury. It's actually pretty useful since the Zenit got buffed. This build is most effective when you run it at minimum range of the Zenit. That means less time for the red to walk out of the impact zone. At minimum range the rockets either hit directly or cause splash damage. The accuracy is ridiculously bad at maximum range.
Quickly fire each Zenit after another and you get a constant stream of rockets.
Walk 200m behind a pack of blue knife fighters and be their close range artillery support. Attack whatever gets into their line of sight.
Of course, self-defence is not a known reality for a Zenit Fury. In close range it can get killed by the most obsolete things you can put together. Even Noricum Destriers are a serious threat...lol. But it's a fun build and has its very own effectiveness.

>slow clap< Well done! Once you hit 9 on a zenit, you can actually do some damage with those things. Nice job! That's absolutely right. At level 8, a zenit only does 91% of some damage. It gets to 100% of some damage only at level 9. |

I have done it with a single Natasha, but THREE Furies is totally awesome.
If you lead the target they can do some major damage, bots coming straight you... not so good.
I think the psychological effect is immeasurable though.

Lol nice hanger. Try a carnage zenit. You lose one zenit, but gives you sheild from zenit/hydra/spiral attacks plus rush for relocating should your cover be compromised.

I have said many times, I am a closet Nori/Zenit kinda guy.. I have a Natty Zenit/Nori and a Leo Zenit Nori.. weapons at lvl 9 on those bots and they do some serious damage.. and piss ppl off.. On TDM, its perfect.. Perfect counter for campers |

Nori/zenit vityaz is surprisingly effective for this sort of laugh. Leveled up, vityaz moves at a fairly decent clip to control range and stay behind cover. And noricum has become useful for picking off bots that stick behind cover when they're about to die.
