Attachment DeletedSo I got jiggy and lap danced myself into a pair of Storm shotguns. Thus far have only tried them on Mr. SEXY PANTS, my Thunderlot. They pretty tight work, and hella effective in close firefights. (love em on Dead City and Powerplant). Anyone else tried these Lil boomsticks on any other rigs? Attachment Deleted

Mounted 3 level 5 storms on haechi. Theyre great for stripping ancile of anything. And shooting things out of the sky. Even thunder carnages learn to approach with caution. Pretty balanced though. I think the best part is that they dont hurt so much to upgrade...yet.
But I really came in here to see a giant rooster..

I tried them on a Kumiho, but that didn't work as well as I expected. Probably need more practice with that setup. A guy from my clan runs storms on an Inquisitor with either ember or thunder, says they're really good.

I think the best part is that they dont hurt so much to upgrade...yet. Don't worry about that - upgrading them further will hurt. Badly. For some reason, the Storm is about as expensive and slow to upgrade as a heavy weapon: warrobots.wikia.com/wiki/Storm

Takes a bit of getting used to, but scoring plenty kills with them. Rush into close proximity same as you would orkans. Lacks the burst the orkans have, but doesn't blow load as quickly either. Couple extra seconds at point blank range and killing plenty bots. Look fwd to getting them to 9+ someday.

I dont have an Ember to pair them with. But did pair them with a thunder. And although it was working, the look irritated me too much. Little tiny guns on this big bodied beast...made me look like a T-Rex lol. Petty, I know...but chicks dig the big guns on that bad boy

I'm sure people have mentioned this since the Storm hit the test servers, but damn is the model tiny. It looks like a downgrade to any medium hardpoint it's on. Looks sleek on the Gareth though, cause any other medium weapon looks oversized on it.

But the Kumi is one ugly bot to begin with. Looks like a hunched over old lady trying to walk in stiletto heels. Love playing my kumi, but daaaaaaamn it could use a paint job. Haven't dropped gold on any skins, but would for that bot.

Anyone try them on a Rog yet? I'm about halfway there to my second storm, so I can start using it soon. Never thought to put it on a Gareth. What would be a good second weapon on the light hard point? Magnum? Pinata? Punisher?

A Storm Haechi/Bulgasari/Fujin will have the firepower of a Thunder Carnage, give or take a few percent. And you'll need about the same playing style. Now the question of course is: Is it worth it? I don't see any 1-Storm build (Lance/Gary) wreak havoc, and Dash bots usually prefer to keep some distance.
Storm does 12.3k DPS for about 8 seconds, then it slows down to half of that. Punishers start with 6.3k DPS which grows to 9.6k after 3 seconds. But Punishers are more accurate from a distance. I like the idea of a Thunder-like medium weapon, but I just don't see where it should be used except on Cash Dash bots, because the robot using the Storm must be very mobile.
I might run one for fun (as they are rather cheap to get), but I don't see it being more than a changeup weapon.
