Some of this may sound obvious, but after playing a while, it seems like some folks are clueless. So here goes. Feel free to add to it. #1 Heavy bots win battles. Why? More hit points means it can absorb more damage. And you WILL receive a ton of damage in the game. #2 Upgrade your bots to at least level 6 and then upgrade your weapons to at least that same level As Soon As Possible. But don't stop there. The more you upgrade weapons and bots, the more damage you can do and the longer you will last in the battle. #3 Beacons win games. Trying to kill a whole bunch of enemy bots MAY win the game, but not always. Capturing and HOLDING the beacons WILL win the game. #4. Have different types of bots available. Not ALL rocket launcher bots. That will almost certainly guarantee a loss. #5. If you insist on shooting off those bottle rockets, learn how to use "Kentucky Windage". That means LEAD the bot you are shooting at if he is moving. That means SHOOT A LITTLE IN FRONT OF HIM. Don't aim directly at him or your rockets will land where he WAS. #6. Those cute little light and medium bots may feel fun to play, but they are relatively worthless. Don't believe the BS advertising used to sell them. Winning a beacon with them just means in 30 seconds an enemy heavy bot that can also jump will win it back and kill you. Get heavy bots as soon as possible. Bots like the Leo, Griffin, and Natasha can be bought with silver and they are VERY good. You DON'T need a dash bot to win battles. And dash bots are not invincible by any stretch. #7 DON'T CAMP (sit at the back and do nothing) unless you have a long range weapon or are a "rocket boy". That means don't sit at the spawn point where you start when you have a bot set up with Magnums and Tarans or other up-close-and-personal weapons. By the time the enemy bots get in your range, the game will be lost. Don't be afraid to be destroyed in the game. You don't really die, you get to jump into another bot or start over again. Dying can be fun if you can take some of the enemy with you #8 Try to keep moving. A stationary target is easier to hit than a moving target. Especially if the enemy team is loaded with skilled rocket launchers. #9 Watch what is going on in front of you. If you see a team mate that needs help, don't stand there like a moron while he dies. He MAY just save your bot if you need help. #10 You can NOT SHOOT THROUGH WALLS!!!

#6 The Haechi and Rogatka may disagree with you ?

Generally speaking good advice, however nothing is absolute, as grondak said a well piloted Haechi and Rog can destroy a griff quickly and do serious damage to a leo or nat and they get around quickly to cap beacons / kill off a crippled bot. The things that really bugs me are Bots standing near a white or red beacon just shooting off into the distance and not under any threat at all. GET THE BLOODY BEACON. Bots that go in swinging with no regard to the game in other words going in for maximum damage and mech out 2 minutes into the game leaving 5 v 6. I also hate it when 2 bots are having a great 1 on 1 and some other $%^&* interferes and kills my bot off!!!! lol Yes at times my situational awareness needs a tweak.

Most of this is true on any server, not just gameroom. Although I also disagree with #6 very strongly. Get a rogatka, you won't regret it. I shred heavy bots regularly with my Rog. Carnage is another excellent medium. Doc can be very effective. Don't be afraid to use mediums too.

As long as 3 or more blue teammates move more than closest beacon distance in entire game, I am happy even if I lose. Had quite many games got 4 or more teammates doesn’t move more than 100m entire game.

Gotta love those matches where you're moving forward, taking beacons and you look around only to find you're alone. The rest of your team hasn't moved past the home beacon. Ahhhh...good times.

Okay, granted I am at Silver league. But quite honestly, I haven't had much trouble taking out dash bots. I use a Leo armed with a Trebuchet and 3 Gekkos. They get hit points lopped off rather quickly, no matter how much they dash around or try to hide. If fighting close-in, I find a Leo with a Zeus and 3 Magnums makes quick work of them.

Most of them are just making noise and not hitting anything. I never seem to get on a team with competent rocket players. I always get on teams where the opposing side has laser-accurate rockets. Can't figure that out.

Sniper basically can kill anyone in distance, great that it work for you. But Zeus/Magnum Leo doesn’t make sense, it’s damage is super low at 600m, it’s damage is probably the lowest for 350m range bot. (Ie Taran Bulgasari/Heachi, PDB Griffin or even Taran Rogatka/Kuminho can out damage you). Thunder/Magnum Leo or Zeus/Gekko Leo may works better, you should try it. ?

There are absolutely better choices, but controlling range, and using cover make a much bigger difference than a larger hit-point pool. This is especially true with FB Gameroom as you will regularly face opponents with much better gear than you. The larger health pool makes no differences if you can still be killed in 1-2 alphas. Bot level is about surviving your opponents alpha-strike, your own pilot errors, and maximizing your speed. Weapon level is about reducing the number of firing opportunities you need to kill your opponent. On balance, I think Bot leveling mitigates more disadvantages that you can't effectively counter with skill. Controlling beacons wins games. A light or medium mech can beat a heavy one vs. one through beacon control. For these reasons I'd recommend balanced upgrades until your weapons are level 5, then taking your bots to level 9. Also, incorporate one beacon-capping light/medium mech. A Haechi obviously works, but a Rog, Gareth, or even a Cossack can fill the roll. It is quite possible to kill heavy Mechs with Lights and Mediums.

Thunder carnage (medium bot) eats heavy bots for breakfast Sigh, close up maybe, 500 M leadhose strips ancile in seconds and will take down carnage easily, you cannot get close enough in time to stop it. 350 M you are toast to a plasma bot, 300 M you are toast to a DB bot. 100 M and under yes you have a chance. My plasma Griff just loves Thanrnage for breakfast, took out 2 in a row and then almost killed another heavy before getting killed one time. DB Griff strips the shield and almost kills Carnage in 1 full burst. And yes I have a tharnage and yes it's fun to use but often gets toasted by plasma.

From silver to diamond league I guess that lights and mediums can be very effective. Up to champion league the mentioned carnage, rog and even galahad can be seen regularly and shining. I am in Champion league android and have 2 rog orkans in my primary hangar.
The great advantage of these bots are their great mobility. You dont need a great health pool if you can evade even more of the damage and have the tactical ability to outrun your opponent and come back and strike when he is not expecting it. Rog and carnage are still belongs to the best choices for close combat maps.
The rocket patch were devastating for the lights, but not so long it was easily manageable to take down a leo or rhino with a gareth or stalker. Who knows, maybe Pixo will come with something to bring back the lights at some day...

FWIW, I killed countless Leos with my Pinata Gepard back when I still didn't have DB Griffin (which got the slightly upgraded Pinatas when I got it). Pinata level was between 5 and 7 I think, And Gepard was (still is) 5. (FBGR)

Depends how you're using it, pick and choose your battles. Its more of a flanker that hugs cover to pop out and give you several thunder blasts to the face. Its not always about one vs one. Get a carnage near the spawn with cover and you're gonna have some fun. Leos are walking bags of silver, and the are a 「dookie」 load of leos in FBGR

You don't need 12+ weapons or spectator mode to reach possible on light vs. heavy. What you need is situational awareness, and the ability to use terrain to your advantage. A lance turns like a boat and his p-shield faces one way. Flank him while he's focused on that Leo off yonder. Get inside his e-shield and give him an Orkan-Rocket rub-down. The point isn't to solo mechs. The point is to grab beacons and be were he can't be, or hit him when he can't hit back. The game has more dimensions than heavy-mech mash-up. A well run fast mech exerts beacon control that a heavy mech can't. Its why this thread has so many Rog recommendations.

Most advices in first post are good and solid. But specially in fb gameroom random game you can not "trust your team mates will do they job". So you really need balanced set on bots.
Here are some of my thougts:
- What you buy first for gold: get 5 hangar slots. It WILL get slower later to get gold and having 5 slots is infinitely better then let's say even 2 Lancelots!
- Plan ahead! Think what bots and weapons you want to use later. True you can buy every bot and every weapon but sad truth is that not all of them are equal. Allso around level 9 you get "most of" what bot can offer. Most of speed, plenty of hull and around lvl9 weapons you can actually say if they will be any use or not (things like Natasha with 2x trident and 2x Pin or so WILL make you wonder why anyone would use it if you are in lvl6 bot with lvl 5 weapons)
- You want and need atleast one relatively fast bot, so called capper. There have been many match where I have not only made most kills but allso most of not ALL capping. It do not automaticly mean our side lose (I have many times win that 10 gold, 5 for capping and 5 for most damage). So if possible atleast one fast bot, I personally use Kumiho. You do not NEED best weapons for it to be effective (I currently use only lvl7 Kumiho with 2x lvl7 Scourge. Still I have killed in duel bots like griffin using it)
- You need/find usefull atleast one tank. I personally use Raijin (at the moment lvl8 with 2x lvl8 Thunder) it is perfect for small spaces where enemy want to come. It eat quite fast griffins and other bots but is kind of slow. Allso what is mentioned before here, situation awareness. When to use it and how. It can deal and take huge amount of damamge but sitting or crawling slowly in open free to shoot for multiple enemies far away is terrible waste.
- There is reason why Griffin is so popular, have atleast one (most likely 2+) ready to be taken in your hangar. Plasma, rockets, bullets. Just do not try to duel face to face with it. For duels you can and should use bots like Leo. Level 8-9 Leo with 3x magnums and 1x Thunder (or Ancile) is quite good and way cheaper then Lancelot.
- You want and need one medium/long range bot (other then your capper). I am currently using only lvl7 Leo (with lvl8 Tempest + 3x lvl8 Punisher) because there will be campers and there will be fast moving small bots who try to cap and can outrun you. Griffin can be used allso (so colled russian death button is great for this but I use regular one with 300m range instead)
So my current hangar is bit of slow but most of the battles I can see difference I have made in the game.
Edit: allso, do not "fall in love" with your bots. There will become better, faster, more deathlier and so on bots. So even if you have that lvl12 bot with lvl12 weapons if you get later better replacement just accept it and start grinding it toward level 7-9 for trying out (with all weapons for it allso lvl 7-9) and leave your trusted old bot waiting for possible future use. Just DO NOT sell them if you have spend time and silver to level them up!

While it is true that most mobile dynamics will hold true in FBGR as well, we must forget that there is a chance (i have no proof) that the average player age in FBGR might be younger due to easier accessibility. That means it might be true that your team-mates might be less reliable. That being said, we have all encountered numerous idiots in ALL versions of this game and in ALL Leagues, so it is hard to say that it's gonna be different.
That being said, I'm quite convinced that most sound principles from mobile platforms will work just as well if not even better in FBGR if the opposition there is less challenging than the mobile arena.
The OP's advice is not bad or wrong. However, some of the other folks who have chimed in have advice that I would consider BETTER. Due to the few number of players and less experience right now, FBGR right now reminds me a little of the old Silver Tier and the current 6/6 movement. Big bots might give you enough HP to keep fighting and get decent scores, but if you level a Rog or two well enough and equip it well, you can devastate the whole field if you play well enough.
Finally, my 1 piece of advice that will contradict the OP is this: Leveling weapons is more important than leveling bots. If you kill the red faster, he hurts you less. The dmg increase with leveling weapons is exponentially better than getting more HP from leveling a bot.

<snip> Finally, my 1 piece of advice that will contradict the OP is this: Leveling weapons is more important than leveling bots. If you kill the red faster, he hurts you less. The dmg increase with leveling weapons is exponentially better than getting more HP from leveling a bot. I agree with this to a point. Bots need to be at least level 6 to be able to survive. Under that level it doesn't take much to wipe them out. What's really frustrating now are the number of beacon-hunting bots who rush forward, capture a beacon, then the enemy team kills them and we lose the beacon. I understand all they are interested in is making their beacon goals to win stuff. But some guys are running ALL Cossacks and it makes other goals like winning the game a lot more difficult. Oh well. Just keep doing damage I guess.
