I have seen threads comparing, or asking for comparative thoughts, of the Scourge vs. Tempest and Scourge vs. Zeus, but what about...
- Zeus vs. Tempest -
I am still a newb, and try to road map future hanger acquisitions and upgrades. So, if you had the choice of running either a Fury with triple Zeus or triple Tempest, which would it be, and why? And, for context, what league brackets are your imputs relavent to?

You only have to expose yourself for a second, carries full damage as long as you're in range, goes through energy shields and it auto-aims. None of that jittery-「bum-bum」 aiming the Tempest has. Viable counter to Dashes.

Zeus is currently easier to obtain, and that should be your first choice. Tempest is something you can acquire after for a second Fury.
They both have their advantages, the Tempest for its range, DPS, armor breaking and sheer suppression; Zeus is best for snap attacks with a high alpha damage. Zeus is best against dashes, while Tempest is best against Lancelots and snipers.

You could never clear a field of 2-3 lances with a Zeus as you could with a tempest. Zeus also does less to help knife fighting teammates since it does not take down anciles and does not do 2x to armor. Also has 200m less range and far less DPS overall. That said, it is a wicked sniper weapon and Zeus fury is one of the few non component builds that a few top-50 players still run.

The extra reach allows you to stay out of Zeus & Trident range, and makes it harder for Pin & Tulu carriers to rush you. It will also do damage to bots that are partially behind cover (while a Zeus expends its full charge harmlessly). However, the Zeus is much cheaper (I was lucky and obtained a full set of Tempests during the first event when they were also relatively cheap). You can't go wrong with either one.

I run a tempest raijin and a zury. The zury is great and was my favourite bot for a while. The raijin is formidable. With tempest you need to lay down fire over time and the hp and shield are worth the trade off in damage Imo (remember you only need to move when you're not firing so bastion is not an issue as raijin is quicker anyway).
Jump your rdbs at me, I'll kill them both and go back to greifing lances. Seriously 300k hp AND 180k hp shield (x2!) at mk2 and absolutely insane damage from tempests. I start out at distance and push in though you can happily drop in knife fighting range and brawl if needed which is something the zury just can't do. It's my hidden gem bot and part of my A team with haechi and ember fury to give you a comparative idea of how it performs. I'm seeing more all the time and I expect it to become hugely popular outside whale league. (it also rapes tempest fury, give them some buyers remorse haha)

If you are actually from 600-800m, 1/3 or less of your shots actually hit, so that whole "higher DPS and further range" is bull「dookie」. You can take out an Lance's shield with three hits from a Fury Zeus. The Tempest's spread is so wide you hit all three shields and not focus one.

Eeeeep must we be so choosy ? In a hanger with five slots...yes, unfortunately. In a 15 slot hanger freestyle mode, maybe not so much

One-to-one the Tempest and Zeus each has its own pros and cons.
But in threes? I've seen a lot of Triple Zeuses but I've never seen a Triple Tempest in action, ever.

Both are monster weapons on a Fury - if you can get 3 of each...
I don't have any Tempests, and honestly, they don't cause me that much grief in the game. I've been hit and killed by Zeus more often than Tempest. The only times Tempest will cause me grief is if I'm caught out in the open for extended periods, ie, running to cover on large maps. But, comparatively, a Zeus Fury will have hit me at least 3 times in that time.
I have a Zeus Fury now in my 2nd hangar and I bring it out when I see Ancile bots on the field. It's pure murder on Carnages that poke their noses out of cover.

Tempest because it can break physical shield and it has more range (800m) than zeus (600m).

I play in champion and both are used very frequently up top. It's more of a question of how many, what kind of bots you have as some have more efficient load outs and also what kind of gameplay you are looking for. The question you ask is a bit subject as both are very effective and it's not always about range imo but more so about how you play and how you use each weapon. There's no right or wrong answer he imo. Maybe one approach is go with which weapon you can attain more easily. If the zeus is easier or you have in stock, then start trying to setup a zeus fury, zeus carnage, zeus/gecko natasha or even a zeus/gecko leo depending on how much you spend, inventory and availability in your hanger. Just my 0.02. Good luck bud.
