I can see the Butch and Doc have a unique use, 4 Heavy or 4 Medium, no other bot can do it.
But 4 light? The Patton already has this AND you can use them at once.
Black Friday offer. Jesse for $15. iF IT WAS $1.50 I still wouldn't be tempted

As of the announement of the medium Aphids, the Jesse is facing unemployment.
Ask the other light-hardpoints-only bots. They are going to be absolute trash as well.

Its got all the speed patton can only dream of. I was making good headway one on one against a tri aphid anclile leo earlier in powerplant (test server) and would have finished him were we not rudely interupted by my fellow blues. If backpeddaling were still in effect patton couldnt touch a jesse. |

Jesse is far faster, giving it an evasion of sorts thsst the Patton just can't keep up with. Not that either are any good mind you.

Patton aphids wont't stand a chance against jesse aphids. Always zigzagging and move sideways when Patton unloads its aphids.
I love to play "catch me if you can" with tripple aphids Leo.
Double aphids Stalker. Not much firepower. But sometimes can give you hardtime to take it down because of stealth capability.
Triple aphids Gepard. Not fast enough. I shelved Gepard after I got Jesse.
I love Jesse very much.

I have won 4 of them in chests, leveled 1 to 9, played with it for over a week, and will never use it again. So, to answer your original question: there is no point to the Jesse. ?

I agree. I attempted to mimic my Punisher/Orkan Doc set-up with Punisher/Pinatas on Jesse but it didnt work. Ilike the wrapon doversofication of the Wild Bunch meks... you can mix weapon types which ads diversity... but it seems to work gest with Doc. The best set-up for the Jesse is Aphids which, utilized with Jesse's speed, is its most redeeming quality. The Vortexes could verily well affect the Jesse as you mentioned. Perhaps a damage bonus of +30% or sonething similar will be added to it like was added to the Raijin to keep it viable? |

It's a really fun bot to pilot in the mid-tiers. Yes, in upper tiers, any APhid build is not good anymore. But Jesse is a skirmisher bot. It is very fast so it stays alive longer, and with Aphids it's not line-of-sight either, so very good for a first bot to deploy and soften up the reds. For my smurf account with 4 hanger slots, it can stay alive 4-5 minutes and just do constant dmg that adds up. Plus great beacon capper, so I might get 1 quick beacon, sometimes 2 on maps like Yamantau.
I'm not great Aphid user, but I've been hit by reds that seem to know when I'm about to stop moving or waiting in ambush for me to jump and land. Aphids do alot of dmg against slow heavy bots like Lancelots and Leos which are more common in mid tiers. A well played Jesse can play cat-and-mouse and drive Ancilot pilot crazy trying to catch it.
In mid-tiers, more noob pilots will stand out in the open when they are not attacking. At least stand against a wall for protection. Or be always moving to avoid Aphids. Even with both my poor Jesse play and poor Aphid play, it's still very fun combo to play against these types of pilots. There were some very skilled Jesse Aphid pilots back during the Aphid Era about a year ago when they accidentally buffed them. Every champion squad was running Patton Aphid, so the skill ceiling rose and Aphid Jesse was ridiculous to counter if played correctly. I still think this bot has the potential today, but it's easier to play other meta bots that require less skill.

All 1999 Corollas are beautiful! Jokes aside, the jesse really shouldn't be using punishers anyway because there's too much LoS exposure. It's uniqueness comes from the ability to dart back and forth and surprise enemy with quick attacks like using aphids because it can just run to cover while firing. I'm currently using the punisher/orkan setup for my doc that I got from super chest during previous event and it is fun because you can play mind games with people lol. Enemy: "That guy using two punishers? Pffft lemme go kill this weak sauce real quick" *Sees enemy closing in and switches to orkans Eenemy: "OH SHEEEEET! why don't my legs move faster I need to get outta here!" |

As is the case with most of the bots now, it's a novelty item. It has its advantages (speed and 4 hardpoints) and it's disadvantages (huge hitbox and only two fire at a time). Light bots in general suit a niche playstyle. They are not bots you're going to win every game with. They are bots you'll have fun with, however.

I just had to double-check to make sure I wasnt in a Facebook War Robots group... Whereas sure, Im not going to get the same results with light wrapons vs. medium weapons but relatively speaking, the punisher/pinata set-up could have been better performing than it was. Sure I could replace my orkan doc with DB griffin, but I already have a rdb and pdb griffin in my hangar as well so I like to switch it up and have some fun. Even if I could run a hangar full of haechis, it would get old very quickly for me. Part of the fun in this game for me is the satisfaction from getting something to lvl.12 by upgrading it with silver you earned in battle rather than just buying your way to the top. |
