I just played a match, and the pilot who came first did not seem to receive any gold or keys. S/he was in a squad with another player. I checked her/his stats, and s/he seemed like a potential tanker. I wonder if that was just a glitch, or if Pix has really removed any rewards from LQ folks even when they are squadding? If Pix has finally blocked that loophole, it would be really good news. Here are the screenshots (I covered the name, since I have no intention of shaming anyone here personally, especially if s/he is not in LQ after all):

Yep from those stats most likely a tanker. I hope they get zero silver as well as zero gold :-)

How is this good news? LQ serves a purpose - it confines these ppl in a separate world and prevents them from ruining the game. Now without rewards, tankers will just change to faders. Emptying LQ is really counterproductive. Release all the prisoners and let's watch the fun.

Emptying LQ is really counterproductive. Release all the prisoners and let's watch the fun. Providing that the whole thing is real and not just a glitch - it’s all currently based on just my one observation after all -you’re right, increased fading is a likely consequence. However, I still think ceasing to reward counterproductive behaviour like that is a good thing. Another aspect is, that it apparently takes a very long time for a true tanker to get out of the LQ. Based on the anecdotal evidence here in the forum it can take weeks if not months, and a shedload of matches. When you combine that with current long waiting times, it’s going to be a real pain to get out. In other words those people now in LQ are not going to show up in NQ anytime soon. Also it is a long time to grind without any rewards whatsoever. I wonder what that is going to do to the motivation of those players. Nevertheless, if that’s really happening, Pix should take additional steps rather swiftly. Fading is already a problem IMO, and the next logical move would be to address it somehow. There could be some triggers set, like when you are consistently using just one or two bots per match, or meching out suspiciously fast, or doing very low damage compared to your hangar. Also there should be limitations regarding hangar-league relationship, and maybe also limits as to how many league steps you can drop. I’m not holding my breath for those things to happen, but for the first time in a long while I will be cautiously - very cautiously - not totally devoid of hope, if they really have decided to take all rewards away from LQ players.

This is great news. I've been harping on here for literally 6 months to get rid of rewards for the cheaters. Yes, all cheaters, not just the loopholes that some think are allowed just because the system doesn't detect it. Yet...

Emptying LQ is really counterproductive. Release all the prisoners and let's watch the fun. Totally agree. They will come out of the LQ in a short time (as there are shortcuts to that as well) and start fading the most efficient way in the NQ to a level where they find a nice balance between game play quality and currency generation. There after they will just maintain that league position by fading and tanking. Their currency generation will be unaffected. I cannot see an argument that stands scrutiny why this is of a positive overall benefit. All it does is screws the low level players who don’t know what they are doing by removing rewards. Perhaps Pix wants more clubbers in the NQ to increase revenue generation.

Fading..
Coming in last place, at -22 points.. Easy peasy to go down if that is what you want to do.. YOu just have to play sub-par for a week or two to take you where you want..
HOW can PIX catch that.. you could just have a crappy connection (which I do sometimes on a consistent bases(Playing over a sat-internet connection is very tough))
There are many reasons to be in last for a streak..
When 2.92 came out, I was gold 1/2.. 2.92 killed me as I was not lvl'd up enough to deal with all the rocket buffs.. I want from G2 to S2 in a week.. I was trying like heck to win, but I was way out of my league with that update.. Should I have been put into a LQ or penalized for my poor play, even though I was trying?
How do you filter poor play from those that are doing it on purpose..
how the heck do you write an algorithm that will catch that.. it is such a huge grey area..
Where is your trigger at.. 3000 wins?
Suppose the player is just a below average player and hardly does any better than 4 or less..

This is good news. Since pix is finally cutting off the rewards for the players in the tanker's queue, now all they need to do is extend the penalty to faders, which is a relatively simple fix.
The surprise is that it took pix this long, since tanking not only pisses everyone else off, but it costs pix money, since it was done mainly to generate gold. Without it, some of of the tankers will start buying gold from pix.

As in what are the factors that lead you to a decision to draw a conclusion that its good news. I really dont think there is such an algorithm that can differentiate between poor play and fading. They have mentioned it in their publication that they had technical difficulties with doing this. Imagine the technical difficulties associate with an algorithm to catch a fader in relation to cutting off the rewards in the LQ. even harder if the fader puts in a fleet of Cossacks in champions league and plays for a minute or two with em. how could Pix say that to a player that you are not allowed to play with Cossacks?

You can play with anything you want. Run 1/1 Destriers, for all I care. But that doesn't mean you should get any rewards.
All you need to do to put an end to most fading is monitor how far a player drops and stop battle rewards. To throw out a number, if you drop more than the greater of 300 points/10% from your all time high, you get no more gold or silver until you get back to that all time high.
Players often say they don't have fun with meta bots/weapons, and decide they want to run something else. Well, you can have fun without earning silver and gold from battles. You will still earn from daily tasks and from whatever casino style games du jour pix decides to run.
Easy to implement, and easy to let players know to what point they need to recover to start earning battle rewards again.

No rewards in the new LQ, premium still gets you by in silver though. Currently in there and it seems a lot like being back in the Diamond leagues, just minus the rewards.
