Mk2 scheme could work if it were it's own league. Once you have a MK2 upgrade, you only face other MK2....but we all know that's not how it will be.

Can MK 2 as the article outlines it work?
Sure for SOME weapons and SOME bots --- what if only those under used silver bots got MK2 upgrades? Mk2 pattons and golems and bricks!
Use wealth to add diversity to the game.
Why have a MK2 program at all is a question.
It lets pix bring bots that aren't in the meta INTO the meta (if done carefully) with out changing the client size drastically (a concern that they apparently have).
I think the bigger questions are "Will pix 「fluffernutter」 it up" and is this one more step to "P2W" --- I don't think there is a person out there who expects a good outcome from this, but they could still pull it off.

The only bot that is allowed for MK 2 upgrade is my cossack! The only weapon that is allowed for MK 2 upgrade is ECU!

Good write-up. Brings up some interesting points to ponder.

The whole article is under the assumption that the whole MkII will be just a +20% on the original levels, and not +120%.
If i didn't miss anything, that 20% that Pix mentioned could be +120% opposed to the 128% (+28%).
As from their original presentation video, the whole MkII were lvl 13-24, not just a "you suck again for lvl 1-9, be barely on par at 10, and get something slightly stronger at 11 and 12".
Any link to where they clearly explained that all that video showing lvl 13-24 was sc「grape」 altogether?

Any link to where they clearly explained that all that video showing lvl 13-24 was sc「grape」 altogether? Yes, the very shaky, skip-ridden live stream said that they (at least the PR people) were deeply embarassed by the screenshots they used when initially outlining MK2. The MK2 lv 12 items are meant to be 120% of the previous lv 12 iteration, not a 120% increase (220% total at MK2 lv 12). It still stands to question of how they implement it, and comes down to which items it will be available for. The part where they mention that weapons will be eligible for MK2 is why there is pretty much no reason to get one's hopes up that this will be a diversity move, rather than another p2w nail in the playerbase morale. Even if it is only limited to Ag bots, the ability for heavy spenders to get their weapons to the equivalent of lv 14 in a few days, while the casual community would need 2-4 more years to catch up, is a concern, if not THE concern.

Seems like the net effect would be to expose Diamond and Expert to the gear differentials already being experienced by Gold and Silver. The thing I don't get is buying a Haechi is rational if you plan on piloting the thing for a couple of years and can expect the bot to hold its relative value, but Pixonic has already released a K-bot Killer in the form of the Ember/Taran Inquisitor. $200 is dinner and a few pints with my favorite girl. The dollar cost for this stuff reaches well beyond setting me an my girl up every Friday night of the year.

I think you guys need to stop focusing on the mk2 part, because personally I don't think it ends there.
Look at the words Pixonic use to describe it, "item promotion" not mk2. They have said once something reaches level 12 you can promote it to a "new version" not a mk2 version. This suggests that you will be able to promote a mk2 lvl 12 in just tbe same way as a mk1 lvl 12
We can all see Pixonic are all about the money now above all else, why would they limit their revenue to mk2 when they can get the spenders to just constantly upgrade to a new level. Remember what that Pixonic guy said about selling power, well this is it!

Nah I read their response as being "a 20% increase", so it's definitely +20% damage instead of a whopping +120% damage... LOL Zeus Fury would deal 107k++ Damage in 5 seconds?!

Dredd77 extremely well written, in tune with my thoughts as well about the whole Mk.II 「dookie」. Just imagine long term players who grind so long, just to get a hangar to a full-11, don't even mention about full-12 yet. And the Mk.II 「dookie」 appears, it's indeed total bull「dookie」.

Great article, it mirrors what I've written on the forum.
The game will really suffer if this is implemented. My level 10 hanger versus level 24 Dash Robots will just ridiculous.

Hi all!
The article was written based on all the information I could find about the item promotion. I relied on what Anna from Pixonic said in the live stream when she exposed item promotion functioning.
Of course, I might have understood wrongly how it will work out in the end, but I think that the general points I'm making are valid nonetheless and however this feature is implemented, I still stand my ground and claim it'll maintain MM imbalance, is no real fun and will only truly benefit big spenders in the end.
Cheers! AnarchoDom
