Just putting it out there for your information.
We'd all be appreciative if you'd like to share your experiences and knowledge (regardless of whether you're new to the game or a veteran). But puh-leaseeeeeeeeee don't be a self-obsessed person bumping your own posts for goodness sake. This ain't a market, it's a forum. You ain't selling stuff..! If people don't respond to your post, so be it.
And for brand new/relatively less active/unaware forum members. We'd understand if you'd love to type and clock your posts, or to put your statements out for others to see but please don't do so in threads that are dated.. Don't be a necroposter!

If I'm still here in a couple of months I am going to necro this thread like Sauron. Would you prefer new threads of moaning or a necro of an old thread with some actual conversation?

Of course, then someone posts on a topic and gets admonished to "use the search function" True story.

The issue with lying in wait to necro a thread is that somebody else may do it seconds before - and then you look like a fool.

If it's relative to the current gameplay or information that will benefit newer players, it is still fine. The reason I bumped this thread is because I came across a thread where a particular (pretty new) member posted 5 one-sentence posts back to back on a thread that is 6 months old, on top of that not making any sense and his last post being "PIX PLEASE SEE THIS". I'm like we're not official representatives of Pixonic.. those posts have been moderated. This falls more on the second paragraph of my OP.

Of course, then someone posts on a topic and gets admonished to "use the search function" True story. The choice is: if you want to discourage necroposting then you must be one of those helpful forumites who links to older threads with valueable information when a new thread is opened. You can’t just tell them to use the search bar. At least that is my rule of thumb. Also, these days I can get a rare “warm and fuzzy” when seeing dead posts about better times. Especially when they include insightful comments and content from those who I don’t see posting as much anymore. (Like TtF, who always posted great and/or ground-breaking info. THX BTW)

DeadeyeThe last D in "DEAD" in your avatar would look cool if it was backwards... either that or the first one should be... whatever looks better with the way you have the first one backwards in "EYE". Just an observation! Oh, and all hail NATAS for the necro posting madness... yada yada. (BTW I am one of those that has no problem with the resurrection of an old thread if it already has the info that we are going to regurgitate into the new one about the same old thing... like Dredd said... as many or more folk get complaints for NOT searching out old threads... so... meh)

And the necromancer returns to the forum. Hi guys. Listen, this was my idea first, and I posted it in rants where it belonged. Just because you put some of your own cheese on it (self obsessed bumpers) and put it in general doesn't make it yours. Now I'm going to need to go start a thread about thread stealing and how people need to get their own ideas.

I don't get it. You guys ask us to search for similar post to avoid same post being created again an again. So if we reply to old thread now its consider necroposting? Doesn't this contradict with the search function?
So we can just search and read and never reply (to avoid necropost)?

It ain't about "thread stealing", if you feel that your "idea/thread" is stolen, sue me.

Why are people so bent out of shape over others, especially new users, posting to old threads?
