The Inquisitor is the first robot in a new series: "Spot the whale". This might still be a slight mistranslation (Pixonic is russian after all), rumours are that the series was to be called " Spot the looney". After all, an Inquisitor owner is a guy that - instead of getting a playstation - buys a virtual robot for the same price, in a game where that robot will soon become obsolete due to even more overpowered robots. Also a game that looks as if it might have a limited life expectancy, on account of both breaking game balance and alienating all the established players, and making the game unplayable for new players due to seal clubbing and placing them in "leavers queue". Of course, the Inquisitor is also part of a scientific experiment. Pixonic conjectured, according to a transcript of a secret meeting, that, upon seeing an Ember Inquisitor, 13,2% of its teammates will try to shoot it, 22,5% of its teammates will follow it around just to see if it is worth $300, and 26% of the players will immediately eject and buy an Inquisitor themselves. (Of course, they were sloppy again in that last part - the "%" sign was just a coffee stain, the actual prediction was 26 players, not 26%.) Suggested equipment: - Trebuchet Hydra Ecu. Being overpowered as it is, this is really the only setup that is fair to the other players who were clever enough to get the playstation and not the Inquisitor.
- Zenit Hydra. This is a slight variant of the "Karate Noricum". The trick is to get below the opponent, jump in the air such that you carry your enemy up in the air, and unleash the deadly barrage of Zenits. The Hydras, being a guided missile, will give you and your enemy a bit more leverage to lengthen the jump.
- Ember 2xEcu. The Ecus on the side will compress the Ember fuel sufficiently to create, upon Ember activation, a big explosion that will wipe all enemy robots off the map. (At least that's what the guy said who sold me the Ember.)
Another big bonus for the Inquisitor is the upcoming Halloween skin, that will have a big "HOW DARE YOU" in big, friendly letters written both on the back and the front of the robot, which will be available for the special price of only $99.99. Recommendation for new players: As you found this analysis, obviously you're smart enough not to buy one. If you see an Inquisitor though, it means you were probably thrown in the pit leaver queue, because you were stupid enough to believe you could skip maps, or eject a battle after getting stomped on by a full squad of top tier tankers (you didn't realize it was your patriotic duty to give free silver to the tankers). Uninstall and get that playstation. You will find my other analysis threads linked here. P.S. Sorry. Could not resist to write a final analysis

I have one. Getting it broken in has been a chore, because I feel like a complete poser whenever someone frags me out in it.

Did Pixonic give it to you or did you buy it Dredd77?

Did Pixonic give it to you or did you buy it Dredd77 ? Nah, was a freebie. I last opened the walled for a Butch, and even at the time I thought that was pretty high. No way I'd go higher, personally.

Stealth is pointless if at 75M you still eat a full two barrels of buckshot. Unless a inquisitor lands on an elevation or depression they might as well have a box around them.

I just wonder why this bot can activate stealth only when it is jumping (or jump only when it is on stealth mode). if anything, both stealth and jump should be abilities that require some extra energy (that need to be charged, hence the cooltime), so it would make more sense if these abilities are mutually exclusive, i.e. you save some energy and use it for either stealth or jump. by what mechanism the stealth and jump rigged togather?
truly another mystery, along with the Rhino cannot rush when its shield broken, which obviously should make the bot lighter ...

I really like the design of the Inquisitor. I believe it too strong relative to the Griffin, but you have it exactly right when it comes to the Inquisitor. Don't use it jump onto someone, use it land on terrain where an opponent can't hit you, like a building, then just as the stealth expires, jump off the other side of the building to safety. Rinse and repeat. It is difficult but rewarding to play and a lot of fun. Unfortunately, because it is better than the Griffin in basically every area you can just use it like a Griffin and while that isn't as efficient as the above, it works just fine. I'd like to see the Griffin have more armor than the Inquisitor to help balance things out and encourage people to use the stealth intelligently. Pixonic designed an interesting alternative to the Griffin, but the way it is balanced, it is basically a replacement. And with the pricing being the way that it is, it just feels like a pay to win compared to the Griffin.

Let's hope they don't take this idea and make a fast bot out of it. Stealth on the ground, but can only be locked on when it jumps.

it would seem at this point, given the scarcity of inquisitor bots, that people are willing to pay around 100-200 tops of a bot and some gear via the casino.
I doubt strongly that many are willing to pay 200 solid for a dash and nothing else. although its hard to tell, b/c people had dash bots prior to them being buy-able directly. and as mentioned due to vast scarcity it would seem virtually nobody willing to pay 300 for an inquisitor, and nor are they willing to drop 150 on an ember.

There will be always people who have deep pockets. But I guess the prices might have finally reached a range where players with "normal" income will hesitate before paying $350 for one robot. I did pay €168 on facebook for two 13k key packages, the return was 3 Dashes, 1 Doc, 2 Galahads, 3 Scourges, 1 Tempest, 1 Ancile, 1 Zeus, 15k gold and some more stuff. Which was excellent value on an account that had no gold items and not even a 5th slot. Now, that was half the money I'd pay for one Inquisitor.

Based on my experiences I came up with 2 conclusions:
1) People who own the inquisitor don't know how to play it 2) The inquisitor is not that OP (not worth the price)

Been fighting with and against them on the test server. They're really not even that OP compared to the Haechi.

First attempt at Team Deathmatch today, and also my first encounter with an Inquisitor. A rather one-sided encounter, so say the least. The loadout was Ember+Tarans. It wrecked my Thunder Raijin and a teammate’s brawler Natasha, and then went through one or two more teammates before finally going down to a couple of midrangers.
A few conclusions: - The Ember is brutal. - The Stealth can be utterly ridiculous. Obviously if it lands right in front of you, it’s the stealth doesn’t matter much. But so long as it stays at a slightly different height, it’s an utter pain. Sitting there getting barbecued while being completely unable to return fire is a horrible feeling. At least a Stalker can’t jump or turn you into scrap metal in a matter of seconds.

I think this comment illustrates another problem with selling power—it robs players of any prestige associated with owning the bot. In fact, it probably lowers that player's prestige as others (perhaps improperly) assume that the Inquisitor pilot is less skilled and thus needed to buy the $300 OP bot in order to compete. The funny thing is that, at least on paper, the Inquisitor seems about as powerful as a Lancelot. Top tier, but not meta distorting.
