Love the game but you need a lot of money to get the right set up so you aren't instantly blown up. I would say that $500.00 out of pocket cash would get you enough robots and good weapons plus all of the expensive upgrades needed so you can at least last the ten minutes of play time. Prices need to be brought down. You can very very slowly build yourself up with won game items but you would need a long life and plenty of free time.

Welcome to the Forum! I HIGHLY advise taking the time to look around and maybe ask what alternatives to paying there are... If you pay for anything at the beginning, that Au mining drone and MAYBE the Gepard with Pinatas should be all you need to get started. That is supposing that you find out the info you need from here and the Wikia and maybe YouTubers that can help you to progress and thrive in the lower leagues in a way that focuses you on what it takes to win and get Ag and Au. I believe one of these two forum members has a whole series on their YouTube channel, starting from the beginning and advancing for free... but, and forgive me guys!, I can't remember which one it is... shaolinrogue and VivaLaResistance. There are more channels with great info as well... many are members here, btw, that can point you in the right direction. Good Luck! IMO, YMMV

You can spend money, but you don't have to. Yes, it takes time but what's the rush? If you are new, I would suggest listening to the fine folks on this site, lots of great advice to keep you on track. If I'd of found this site sooner, I wouldn't have upgraded or purchased some items that put me behind. I think I've only spent $30, and that was just for Premium. Hang in there.

First, welcome to the forum! Yea Shaolin Rogue has the "Do Over" series which is going to be what you want to watch!!!! I've also got a few videos that could be dubbed as "instructional" but I generally aim more for things that I find interesting to myself and try make it shareable in an entertaining way. As far as paying to play? All it really does is put you up playing against more experienced players without the skills and knowledge needed to fight them well! I've only spent 20 bucks on the game in almost 2 years and pride myself on it. (That 20 bucks was for extra gold to spin event chests) Coincidentally....I literally just uploaded this video from last night. Squadded up with the very shaolinrogue we speak of, check it out and see how well we run the Rhino/Carnage combination. Also you'll get a few pointers from the first bit with Paps also.

You can do pretty well if you decide not to spend any money. If you grind it out, and save all your gold, you can get get all 5 hanger spots. I've seen a 6/6 hanger with 3 griff, 2 leo, hit Gold tier after a 2 or 3 months of play. The only gold weapons this guy has right now are a pair of orkans which he won during the summer event. Not a single penny. The best use of money is probably the premium monthly fees.

That silver grind gets insane up above level 9/10

Yeah, you get A LOT more out of premium if you wait. It's +50% silver right?
So in the beginning, when your doing less damage and only getting roughly 75k - 100k Ag per round, the return of +50% on that is not near as much as if you use it when your consistently getting 150k-300k Ag later on in the game.
Plus, I personally never ran out of silver. Even now in D2 with everything at around lvl 9, I still have about 50 mill. But I would think one certainly should not need it until their bots/weapons are getting pretty high up there in levels.
And certainly no need to get xp faster. You max out at level 30 in no time and then what?

xXrobotrippinXx You're right about it being more important later on in the game. You're right at about the point where you'll start making the upgrades that chew down that 50 mill if you keep em going steady.

I have pushed a load of Bots & weps to L10 and have chewed through 110Mil silver (had 137 now on 27Mil) ...while still earning Ag at a decent rate ... I don't have premium ... I am OK with taking time to level up .. I am actually bringing up other builds rather than push for L11/L12 so will have a broad selection of bots and weps at L10 to mix into the hangar

I don't see why people think the game is actually pay to win while they give you free stuff, black market is scam indeed, but you get the keys for free by playing just like how you get gold and silver, they also put event tasks where you win gold and WSP stuff.. not being biased but I've not seen this in other games. Also..I'm in expert 3 and I spent $2 on this game on the gold offers, that money was also from a gift card that I got from a friend. Also got the fifth slot, got a rogatka and two orkans by playing and not spending. And most the other person got a few orkans, gekkos, aphids, an ancile and other stuff for free from the event tasks, I got two gekkos and aphids and an ancile from the events only, that's worth 4500 gold, for free! Been playing for over 7 months.

You all suck. This game is a Russian rip off. What I said still stands true. Yes you can play without using out of pocket cash but it takes many hours or days or weeks of game play to get a good enough bot and weapons to not get blown away almost instantly.

Only spend money if you think it'll improve your overall enjoyment of the game. Don't go chasing waterfalls...

Huh? Okay so I'm a little of the hill, hut dropping $500 on a game, with no ROI other than a digital footprint. No way. Put those dollars into something else more real.

Totally agree, I don't mind spending money to support the developers but $500 is too much. I know others have spent quite a bit on it, its not my place to tell people what to do with their money. They earned it so they can spend it anyway they want, but to me I'm not even going to spend $100 on this game. I can't really complain about getting blown up in matches, I have only spent less than $10 so far, and I have enjoyed the game especially for the money that I have put into it. On a sad note, April 15th is coming so gotta make sure I have enough money to give away to Uncle Sam. He is taking a lot from me this year.

Such kind words! You have a good day too! If you wanted to have a discussion instead of an insulting rant, I'd be happy to show you ways to progress without spending, but it doesn't sound like you want that. I am NOT disagreeing with your view of Pix, btw, just that you really can do a lot for free and it isn't that bad at low leagues as long as tankers aren't part of the equation. A few things to keep in mind about the original post: A lot has changed since then, for the worse, but at the time it was not hard to move far for free. Also, Amazon and FBGR has a bit more of a spread in its MM... so there are a lot of games where Masters and Bronze, for example, are in the same game. Any type of bot, new or old, will have a problem keeping up with bots and weapons that are far above them. iOS has gotten a bit worse lately, as I am seeing many more games that range from Diamond to Masters... but still... it's playable. I have one account (iOS) that has level 9 bots with level 8 weapons that are almost all either won or ground for that is full of new bots and it fares well against many higher level opponents in Expert league. I have an Android account that is in the crossover range of Diamond and Expert with all pre-dash bots that can still hang with the new bots and weapons, as well. I have to play smarter and harder, but it works. But no doubt, spending helps.

First thing first. Try to gain some experience, there is a lot to discover. Remember this is a free game so you can obtain a lot without spending bucks. When you know how to manage a bot and know what decision r best than the money thing should be a thing for later on. Spent your bucks wisely if you do so. One can buy a 300dollar bot and expensive weapons but if you dont have experience youre a goner in a few min on the field.

Yes you can play without using out of pocket cash but it takes many hours or days or weeks of game play to get a good enough bot and weapons to not get blown away almost instantly. The good bots and weapons help, but seriously, if you get blown away like that, it means you need to learn skills... Good bots will not help that much. And unlike many FPS games, having twitchy reflexes and pixel-accurate aiming ability are of very little importance. In fact, this game has incredible depth at game play level, which is why a lot of us keep playing it, despite how Pix is making this a P2W game and trying to extract money instead of trying to create a good game. I guess the underlying quality of the game allows them to go pretty far in trying to fleece players. That's the only thing that keeps most of us playing at all. To be competitive at lower levels, there are specific cheap(ish) bots which will be very good very far up the leagues (RDB/PDB/DB/Punisher Griffin, Gareth, Rogatka), and some bots which may be worth it even though they have more limited utility (Thunder-Pinata Leo which is a great early brawler off-the-shelf, Pinata Gepard which has top speed from level 1, Golem which is very cheap to upgrade and can utilize single weapons nicely). And yes, the greediness of Pix sucks. They could have created a brilliant e-Sport title, but instead they went the P2W Freemium route, selling power and trying to trick and confuse unwise players into spending money.
