Not very effective in gold. Decent in silver as a beacon capturer.

Not really enough firepower, and can get totaled by a single volley from a TT fury or RDB, neither of which can be dodged. It can dodge orkans more easily than a Galahad, but a single misstep will often result in instant death at close range. It performs decently in silver, but a Galahad is usually the better choice.

1250 Gold for a Gareth is considered a bargain in my opinion. My 6/9/8 Plasma Gareth performs very well and is fun to pilot.

Buy Orkans before the Gareth. Best gold valued weapon.

Still waiting for the gareth warriors to come out Love the gareth, mine 8/8 orkan/8 mag not saying I don't die quick, but if I get in around a group of nats or leos I can eat them up. Great for taking out unsupported campers. Lol

Gareth Pilot right here! To be honest, I don't know the game beyond silver tier. But when playing in high bronze, low silver, the Gareth is great. It is a versatile light bot, that can hold itself against almost everything. Aphids can be a huge problem, true, but normaly, they can be dodged. And when you know, where they come from, they don't come very long. Sure, it is a bit fragile, but hey, it is a light bot. I often see somebody, compairing it to the Galahad, but honestly, that's just not fair. The Gary is a light bot and should be treated as one.

I mean... are any light bots effective in gold? Gepard Aphids is one of the few light bots effective in gold.

Still waiting for the gareth warriors to come out mini Death Button! Since Gareth is susceptible to mid range rockets (orkans and aphids are easy to dodge), I recommend using your speed and stay in the shadows. Take the scenic route... your job is to take out rogue beacon capturers

I've survived whole matches (or won the game before I ejected) with Gareth. Yamantou for instance, you can steal beacon 4 and harass Trebs. If you need to get around a Trident, try to get them to fire and step back. You can readily walk the block in Shenzen. DC is a playground. Gareth is a total troll on PP, those non-line-of-sight Aphids will miss all day. No bot is as well protected going for the tower on Springfield.

I run 10/11 gareth in my low gold hangar. Prefer orkan/piñata over plasma, for hit and run. Like any light bot in gold, avoid open area and engaging multiple red bots.

I feel that the Gareth is useful towards the end of the match where a lot of people meched out and those who are still alive are at low health and grabbing beacons. That's the only reason why I'm buying a Gareth

This may be a surprise to all of y'all... but I say... Wait for it... Yay. I know! Shocker! Unsung and underestimated, Gary keeps on winning me solo matches, especially when saddled with the at-least-once-a-day, obligatory, 4-5 Camper team of Blues. If you really want to see more of why, just look at my other posts that have to do with Gary in other threads... most of y'all wouldn't want to read it again, so I'll refrain BTW - Mostly Low Gold here.

If you want to be inspired, watch Lloyd Le-Mar (aka Ace Thunder) YouTube videos on running the Gareth. Dunno about you guys, but I want him on my squad!
The wrong way to use it is to run directly at my Lancelot, but I won't complain about the free extra silver rewards

thanks for all the feedback! I have just overlevelled my plasma gareth and lovingly renamed him 'gary the destroyer'
My strategy with it is to distract most of them by flanking to one of the outside beacons while my team flanks them. You would be suprised how much this little guy can take without being obliterated, and how many enemy players charge after me leaving the other beacons unatended

I guess my way of distraction seems to be to mech people out rather than waste their time trying to chase me though

tru but then again what doesnt get totalled by a TT fury or death button Griffin. With its jump it can avoid most of the rockets. Not really, most skilled tt fury pilots can and will hit the griffin as it's jumping.

Honestly, I'm surprised nobody is listening to the vox clan member who actually plays in top tier over a guy who recommends the anicle mag leo as his "tower of power".
There is honestly not much that the gareth can do that the galahad can't do better, it's the perfect flanker, distractor, and beacon capper, reminds me of the days when orkan rogs and taran rogs used to rule the sky.
The galahad can distract foes longer while being an actual threat as well, due to its greater hitpoints(both hull and shield) and its greater firepower. 50 mph is already good enough, 60 mph is overdoing it in gold where beacon cappers are not nearly as useful as they are anymore.
This may change with the upcoming gareth buff however.
