Just noted a thread from a pilot over on Reddit that mentioned his 1/5 Destriers and L1 Cossacks were putting him in Silver as of today, and wondering if anyone else saw any changes. Funnily enough, I have, even wrote about it this evening in the latest Battle Stories. Anyone else out there seeing some changes? I know an overhaul was promised in January...maybe this is a foretaste?

When i put in 1/1 cossacks after ive had a few maxthes in high gold, i still get put in high silver/trash gold matches quite often. (I am aware of the delayed MM glitch, but it has been happening alot more)

I'm getting a lot of matches with 6/6 or higher heavies lately, but AFAIK I shouldn't be, since my strongest bots are 4/6 mediums. That means highest heavies I should be seeing are 2/6, 3/5 or 6/4.

I've seen MM go whacky for a day or so to me when I was playing bronze for Au clubbing.
After a day at most it would settle back down.
I don't play Bronze now so if it's not a glitch then it could be part of Pixonic's MM change to keep senior pilots out of bronze - which is probably a good thing.

I play high bronze. 4\6 Mediums. And two lights. Also 4\6. Lately I added a Gareth, but still play mostely high bronze. Sometimes low silver, but that occured before the Gareth, too.

The world is round, go far enough west and you'll get to someone's east. If you don't understand metaphors, I'm suggesting if you go L 1/1 and MM was a circle or horseshoe, you'd be close enough to H 12/12.

For what's its worth I've begun to notice I'm, more often, in more balanced matches. Sometimes top 3 but not always ,sometimes mech out. Sometimes ridiculously outgunned etc. I'm playing around with my hanger a bit so maybe that's it.

Yeah, always expect the serpentine who devised matchmaking to capitalise on any misconfigurations you apply to your hangar, when you take a chance on that experimental bot, expect the worst from MM.

Haha, yup, in the grossly mismatched game I felt like the last square of paper glued on the toilet roll. Having said that, definitely more balance overall. And now I've made that bold statement it'll all go to hell. See you on the other side.

I see the same leveled opponents in 5/5 light bots as I do in 5/5 mediums, and that's why I'm running mediums lol. One weapon to level 6 on any of my bots throws me into the top brackets of low silver (4/12 geps everywhere). It's possible that pix has slapped in the Elo portion of the MM serverside, as most matches seem balanced. There is also the issue of people playing badly...
The event has caused:
Former clubbers to come down from their mountain to farm snowflakes instead of Au
and
There are a lot of players with utter crap win rates because they are doing everything in thier power to avoid beacons in favor of trying to do damage (and failing). A lot of people have taken to using one bot and then afk'in until the match is over because they don't get snowflakes for straight up ditching. This brings us to 6/5 heavies with 35-49% win rates getting rubber banded into high bronze (6/3 heavies getting sunk as far as low bronze). Anyone keeping their positive winrate while playing objectively gets royally screwed because many of the players in their bracket are tanked into a lower placement, so they are getting matched against the strongest possible opposition instead of the normal population.
We'll have to wait until the event is over and folks go back to playing the objective of the game instead of the objective of the event before we try to blame MM.

Well this is fascinating! While I haven't noticed any patterns that I could have any confidence in, I have noticed on both platforms that the MM seems to have developed a bad case of Bipolar Disorder. I'm using a low Silver hanger on iOS, and a low-mid Gold hanger on Android. On both sides, especially running solo, I'm either thoroughly out-classing both teams and getting 10 Au & 5 S-Flakes, or I get my 「bum-bum」 handed to me and 2 S-Flakes. The only consistent root causes I've found for the losses are either crap teammates or extreme equipment disparities between teams. It's the equipment disparities that bother me the most, not to mention the 'clubbing' exploits, but at least I know I can't fix all the bad pilots out there

It was like throwing stones at tanks.

I'm going to add a lot more detail to this when I get a chance to sit down, but what's really throwing me off here is all the 6/8 mediums and even heavies I'm up against. It seems bizarre to somehow have drifted from High Bronze to High Silver, but some of the matches really feel that way.
Will definitely second that it's a lot more challenging, even humbling.

I agree, for a good while I thought I was in silver though my mechs are high bronze I think. But I do keep shifting odd mechs in my hanger. Tbh I'm never quite sure where I am. I just figure it's pot luck at times. Still enjoying it all.

As anecdotal evidence of the impact that Snowflake grinding is having.... We started getting wiped a third into the match, couldn't figure out why until I looked at the match stats. Somebody bailed, and somebody else just 「fluffernutter」ing sat there, did nothing, and still got awarded 2 Snowflakes. Boo, Pixo, you could have done that better.

A program the user makes that runs another program. (The game) It can really only start and end a match. But if you start your script and go to work or sleep, you get a days worth of 2 snowflake losses ready for you to open chests when you play next.

I've been grinding my teeth lately seeing "team members" either ejecting at the start or sitting on their butts.

New info: My win-rate just slipped over 80%. From that on, I almost constantly play low to mid silver. Not even adding the Gareth, a few weeks ago, changed that much. I'm pretty sure, the win-rate changes more, than a single brit-bot ever could. Sure, it just happened and I don't have played enough, to make it a statistical fact. But the changes in overall bot setup and playstyle are remarkable. Now I got to deal with two-, or even three bot cells. Griffs back pedal all of a sudden and beacon capping is now sport of the day. Can other players maybe watch the changes, when their win-rate gets up? Would be nice to know...

I put in one damn lvl 1 patton with 4x lvl 7 pinatas and all of the sudden I'm in with Griffs and rhinos I'm not into that 'keep your bot level low, weapons high, so you are a one hit wonder' thingy. I'm talking of real gaming balance. What does it say, if you can one shot a griff, but are unable to hold yourself against a golem in a fair firefight for the center beacon? You're the suicide asassassin. I'm the solider. Sorry, for that comparison. But it is really fitting! With my bot overall levels, I should be here. That's where I, my bots and my playstyle belong. You sneak in, just to wreak havok and get your reward. You smuggle high leveled weapons to a battlefield, where they just don't belong. Why? Because you can. So, it is legit. Why fight with a knife, when you can sneak in a 9mm? Sorry, I maybe play the same game, like you, but I play a different game...
