I want to put together a ranged laser bot. (After my current run to reach 9/10 and a couple of 11s next week). I have rarely used mid range let alone long range.
My current resources are: Trebs 7, 7, 3, 1 Gekkos 9, 7, 5, 5 Fury 6 Butch 3 Leo 7 Natasha 9 Patton 5
Easiest way would appear to be nat or maybe leo.
Opinions?

Prolly the natasha. 2 trebs and your highest 2 gekkos.

PS. I do plan to level whatever is chosen. Just looking at what is quickest / cheapest vs what is best.

Asked the same question elsewhere.
Current vote is 2 Patton, 2 Nat, 2 Leo.
I think I need a tie breaker.

Natty. Absolute no need for speed, extra firepower and HP is more than welcome though. Burst damage possibility being a bonus. Only downside is totally different firing mechanics of Trebs and Gekkos. You can use selective/linked firing to separate both types.

Gekko Patton Gekko Treb Natasha (Not recommended because you have a Butch) Gekko Zeus / Treb Leo

I would say Butch with Trebs, but with the buff to Gekko's the Treb/Gekko Natasha looks good too.

After doing various testing myself, I've found that I do not like using Trebs and Gekks together. As mentioned above, these weapons should be used differently even though they have the same range and damage type, so it's difficult to pilot.
In my experience, Gekkos ended up pairing more naturally with Zeus since they are both frequently firing exposure weapons.
I wish this wasn't the case since it would be nice to pair heavy and light long-range weapons. Does anyone know if you lose any DPM by firing Trebs as soon as they are ready repeatedly? If you're willing to use the Trebs that way, using them more like Gekkos than burst weapons, then I guess it could work.
Edit: if you want to try running Gekks ASAP, throw 3 on a Gepard if you have one. Can use a lvl 1 Gep and still be fastest bot with 3 Gekks.

But i had tried treb molat first (which was awful). At the loss of laser power kwk would work well. You do lose dpm if you run a treb on constant fire. Close to half.

I did some calculations.
To 9/11 leo, patton and nat are all within 10 mil of 100 mil from where i am now (patton 90, leo 103). Butch is 150 mil away.

I played around with the treb/gekko leo and the gekko patton setup and ive come to the realization that they can actually do similar amounts of damage during the course of a match. People constantly run physically shielded bots and duck in and out of cover so you usually don't have a constant viable target to maximize the gekko pattons faster dpm. This makes the leo's burst with the treb/gekko just as effective for short engagements. So the gekko/treb leos 20 second burst for the treb is not necessarily as bad as it seems.

I tried treb/gekko natasha and it feels awkward. I like to smash the red button. I dont like trebs too, if you miss 1 shot you lose tons of dps.
I find a zeus/gekko leo more dangerous than a treb/gekko leo or natasha. You still deal enough damage to pressure the snipers and you keep reds away from you with the zeus.
However, i love my gekko patton more than any other bot. This is the only sniper bot that can cornershoot, which keeps him alive against trebbers.

how about a tempest-gekko Leo or Nat? will it be better to just go tempest-molot?
Zeus-gekko I ran long time ago - you often become tempted to approach reds <600m and then got killed by Tridents or Zeuses,

If I were going that direction I would use a Nash rather than a treb. I still may possibly.

I like your thinking moody . I currently just switched my Zeus Carnage for a Zeus Gekko Natasha in anticipation of the update on iOS. I've been wanting to run Gekkos and level them up for a while. I've had some good success with this Natasha over the last couple days. Will try to keep levelling it up until dash bots and scourge hit in a month. I've also been skittled a number of times by the Gekko Treb setup. The good players always use their Gekkos to see if their Trebs will hit before firing them. Not really dangerous until about level 10, after which time I have to try and kill them first. Looks like long range is having a comeback of sorts.

I tried once more a Gek / Treb Tash today . I feel you just cannot get optimal weapons output using that combo. We all like spamming the big red button . You either delay the Treb charge playing gek or waste gek shots by waiting for Treb to max charge . Its annoying .
Kang / Gek Tash works so much better for me .
