Hey gang, wanted to run this by you.
I miss running my T-Rog. So many fond memories. Was my first gold purchase, given I was still a Bronzie at the time, this was a bot capable of laying waste to the Magnum Gepard scourge that plagued my tier.
Like most Rogatkas it performed its duty very well for its time. I got to the point I only launched it if a Maggeps were present and affecting the match.
As I climbed the tiers ole Roggy had a giant tarp thrown over it as I set about running Griffins in its place as I needed, well, 'more'.
So heres my question, asked from more of sentimental side of things; How well could a Rogatka perform in a 6/8 medium environment? It would be running with my 6/8 Fujin & Galahad, my 8/9 Stalkers, and whatever 6/7 heavy setup I decide to run.
The reason I ask mostly is due to sentiment, I miss running it and don't exactly want to setup a separate hanger just to run one bot. I kinda feel it a shame to let it gather dust. I've estimated at lvl6 the Rogatka should have comparable HP to a Griffin, but is the loss of firepower too much that more speed and frequent jumps cannot make up for?
Thought I'd see what you think before I start pumping levels into it.

Griffins are much better overall. Definitely don't waste any resources upgrading the Rogatka for now.

Same here. The Rog was my first gold purchase and I just can't let it sit and collect dust. This is my hangar:
Gareth 6 - Taran/Magnum 9/8 Galahad 6 - Taran/2x Magnum 8/7/7 Vityaz 6 - Thunder/2x Magnum 9/9/9 Carnage 6 - 2x Thunder 8/8 Rogatka 6 - 2x Orkan 9/9
When I had only four slots and the Carnage was missing I already cracked the million dmg points benchmark in a game. Rogatka is still a capable guerilla fighter at this lvl and definately worth keeping. I often end up causing twice as much dmg points as my team mates and the resulting gold is much appreciated. Just pilot the Rog as agressive as possible and it will do its job just fine.

There's this sentiment that Rog sucks or something. It's actually very good.
Put Rog on the very lightest of the mediums, and you will start to get the point. At 124k HP that's over 1/3 more than a light bot. It only moves 45 but with jump that's like 55! And it looks like it's getting a small buff on top of those numbers.
So if you treat Rog as a hybrid light/medium and not a true knife bot you wont be hating on the Rog.
Oh, and use Orks. It does not have the defense to stay out in the open for too long!
Yeah OP, Griffin and Rogatka are nothing alike. Rog is closer to cossack!

Griffin. I think rogatka must purchase with AG or WSP not AU.

Griff has more armor and firepower obv, but the Rog is faster and has a much shorter cooldown for jumps. AFAIK it's the heaviest bot in the game that can outmaneuver Aphids. (Just need lightning reflexes!)
The Rogatka was my first (and currently only) gold bot purchase, and I started to feel regret once I started fighting Galahads. But considering how nimble it is, and the fact that it's soon getting a buff, I'd say it's a keeper. Plus I just got my first Orkans for it yesterday.

Seems like a lot of you guys keep your bot levels low. Toy has some impressive hit points, if you'd give him a little love and attention. At least push the speed to 60.

I'm at a very similar level to the OP, bots at 6-7 and weapons slightly higher. I use both a Griffin and a Rogatka on my team, though I keep changing the weapon loadouts. Neither is better than the other, since they perform very different jobs. My Orkan Rog tends to come in lategame to snag beacons and do hit&runs on weakened bots. A Tulumbas Rog does a similar job, but trades off some damage for extra range.
Griffin is extremely versatile, and its use is more about how it complements your hangar. Deathbutton lets it brawl, RDB lets it midrange, and even Molots are pretty decent on it. Don't think of the Griffin as heavier Rogatka because they just don't do the same job.

I'm not here to point out or condemn necroposting. But consider when posts #1-#4 were made, league play did not exist. When posts #5-#8 occurred, Rog had not been buffed. Posts #9-#10 are in the post league post buff world. So thoughts on the OP will vary as things change.

I'd like updated opinions on this since I'm seriously considering buying a Rog or even 2. They seem to fit part of my fighting style. I like the cossack but it's entirely too weak for android gold and my 3 Griffs do the job but I would like to try the in-betwen of these.

Golden Sabre , then you will like a Rog. It plays a strong cossak role, more so now than what it was in the T-rog days of old. When I use Rog, I never open with it. Every Treb butch and Zeus Carnage goes nuts. I use it late game, when we need to flip some enemy beacons rapido, and I stay mostly tight ot the ground, using jump only to shortcut up ledges etc, or to avoid rockets. I use Orkans to empty into something while never stopping moving, and rarely stick around to kill anything. It isn't good in that role. It hits, it moves, it crosses the map, flipping beacons, and hitting with Ork bursts as it moves. That strategy works for me. That said, I simply dislike that style personally. I like to brawl and kill. I want to punish reds for shooting at me. (And I'm not saying thats a good thing, but its how I like to play War Robots). So I dont use Rog as much as others. Ⅎ₹ѺC₭₩ELDEℲ₹ and FRΞΞDØM☆F1GHTΞR can add more I am sure. They are Rog masters, and can run in circles around ancilots and explain other cool Rog baddassery in more detail. Hope that helps.

Now that that's out of the way, haha. If you have the gold for it or want to save for a good flanker/beacon runner. Rogatka is a fantastic choice since it's boof. Surprising things can be accomplished with one. Do yourself a favor if you get one/level one up, though. Don't try to head on firefight with it. You'll be sad. Anyways. Rog = good. Rog also = Fun Just gotta run it right. Like everything else.

Thanks Paps & @heavypanda . Panda, I'm a little confused as to what loadout you're using. Edit: I too like kills but there's no gold in it. I'm a brawling beacon hunter, gimme silver AND gold

Two different bots, two different duties.
Rogs are cool. Go with Orks. Lvl all to 9.

Before the buff I wouldn't have been seen dead in a Rog. I go the the anarchy Rog in the anniversary event and I have o say it was totally worth it. I was switching between Stuka and DB griffins, but I haven't got the art of how best to spend the 25 seconds between griffin jumps. So I swapped in my new double ork Rog, which is now lvl 6.
What a breath of fresh air it was. The Rog is a fast paced ride. Except the Cossack, it is the most agile bot of the game. It is a rhino assassin. Even RDB griffins hit nothing but air when you jump over their salvos. And since the cool down time of jump is only 7 seconds, you never really have to wait more than 3 seconds on the ground before you can jump again. I actually prefer it to the DB griffin now.
Contrary to Panda's play style, I actually open with Rog on closed maps like power plant and moon. You are always targeting Gareth's and Galahads in particular, as they don't stand a chance against a good Rog pilot, and you can really help out your team if they are plasma heavy. I agree with Panda that they shouldn't be brought out first on open maps like yamantau or canyon. A good Rog pilot always avoids Trebs and Zeus.
I seriously recommend you getting one. Even if you find it doesn't always suit your playing style, it really is one of the most fun bots in the whole game. And that alone makes it worth it for me.

N.B: be aware that Rog's upgrade times are longer than Carnage or even Lancelot. So you might take that into consideration; taking it to 9 would take ~a week. ...and you always can consult wiki for exact numbers =) warrobots.wikia.com/wiki/Rog

It is harder to upgrade initially, but gets easier the higher in lvl you get. To get all the way to lvl 12 it's actually shorter than Lancelot I believe. But Russell is right - most of us only want to max out the speed as fast as possible (lvl 9) and then put some lvl 12 weapons on it. The one one you DON'T want to upgrade to lvl 12 is Fujin. Over 6 days for one level?!! You gotta be 「dookie」ting me....

Having gotten a chance to watch your playstyle a bit the other night when we squadded, I think you'd really enjoy playing Rog. You pilot your Griffins aggressively, and Rog gives you a lot more leeway to get back out of a situation if an enemy is higher level than initially appears, or if unexpected help shows up. Also, it's far more survivable against rockets than a griff is. It does have less firepower, bringing roughly 2/3 of a Griffin to the table, but I find the mobility more than makes up for it.

It is almost the same, in terms of time/max level for Rog/Carnage as for Fury/Lance/Leo. I don't understand why, because light bots are taking much less time to upgrade. So if you want to ride a Rog - you might want to reserve some time for upgrades.
