Who is Mr./Ms. Influence? Week 2 Voting Thread!

I knew right away who my first three votes were, so last week was very easy. All three ended up winning one of the first four spots.

Now that I'm giving the list another look, it's so hard to just pick three. There are a lot of solid contributors on that list, many of whom have personally helped my game in one way or another. Good luck everyone.

Any criteria you like, but there was a poster. I will try to find it for you. My guide for votes is just a simple "who is the most helpful and enjoyable to read?"

Only certain people are in the poll. So only certain people are given a chance to win.

If I want to pick someone who isn't in the predecided list I can't. If someone else wanted to pick me they can't.

Feels kinda clique-ish.

You would need to be active more often to know, but there is a nomination thread every week from Monday-Thursday. Every member has the opportunity to nominate three other members any time during that four day span each week.

So if you wanted to vote for someone not on the list, you'd simply need to nominate them between next Monday-Thursday, and then vote for them some time between Friday and Sunday. Same if someone wanted to vote for you.

Granted, it's somewhat of a "popularity contest" but it is more so about who has been the most helpful to others. And as it says, it doesn't even have to be that. You can nominate/vote for whoever you want for whatever reason you want.

In the end of it all, they're giving away 70,000 total IP to the people here for simply doing what we were already doing. I don't understand the people, however few they may be, that are complaining about it. It's an awesome event to give us something for nothing.

Dredd77 all of your MtG references are making me miss it. Haven't played since middle school, and wouldn't know the first thing about getting back into it. But I have urges to buy some card packs every time I see you mention it.

Step 1: Find your friendly, local gaming store that's part of the Wizards Play Network

Step 2: Call the store and ask if they have the free, 30-card "sample decks" in stock for new and returning players

Step 2a: If they don't, call the next store on the list

Step 3: Stop by and pick up two sample decks and scratch the itch for free. 

I wasn't intending to imply anything, I just made an assumption that appears to be incorrect. The nomination threads have been on the front page in general for most of the time during those days the past two weeks, so I assumed that if you were here you would have seen them.

If you offer help to others frequently, then that's awesome and you deserve to be on the list, and hopefully someone you've helped will nominate you. I'm not sure exactly how active you are in helping, because I too don't read every single thread - generally just those that peak my interest.

If you only pop by every once in a while and help people a couple times a month(not saying that is you, just giving a general example), then that's still great and it's good that those people are able to benefit from it. But this competition is to determine the most influential person on the entire forum. Not everyone can be that winner.

Personally, I think it's amazing that we have such an extensive list of people, all of which are deserving of the nod, that have influenced other members in a positive way. And even with such a long list, because there's a limited amount of nominations, there are still people deserving to be there that aren't yet. I think it says a lot about the community here. Lots of jokers, lots of serious guys, lots of trolls, and lots of debaters. One thing so many people have in common here is everyone wants to help everyone else.

To be honest, the very mechanics of collecting the IP through the app still elude me. I have some ppl on the FB and still the IP game selection screen seems to be not responding.
I've never been nor planned to be on FB, but I've made an account finally only to team up in War Robots

Your 101 post count and 45 karma would beg to differ.  Strictly looking at the numbers, you don't seem to influence much other than the posts in this thread that have a distinctly negative vibe about them.

Huh! What a coincidence - I'm playing War Robots on the "Samsung Note" - is that the same thing? Size seems similar, leather pouch, it has a stylus too, not so fancy, but still...

The people on the list were nominated by the board.  No cliques.  Some respect me, some don't, some I piss off,.etc.  So I don't fit into a click. I was nominated by my clan Capt.  There's been a handful of member type things, and while I did not show up in one, I showed up in the others.  I was pleased at least one person got something from my drabble, and backed me.

As a personal and professional matter I do not do FB, and Zuckertwirp can suck eggs!
