I shared a short story in response to Russel in his excellent Event Advice thread, and thought it should be shared as a trick in dealing with Fujins. It's really straightforward and simple. If you're engaged with a Fujin that keeps engaging and disengaging their shield and you have rockets, just watch their turret closely. As soon as their turret starts to drop, fire your rockets (maybe just two or three sets of rockets at a time). As soon as their turret begins dropping, their Ancile will be down and they'll be exposed for about a second at least. Even if they hit the button as fast as possible to go back into sentry mode, the animation delay keeps them vulnerable just long enough for your rockets to arrive. Be careful unloading a whole clip, as you don't want a majority of them to get eaten by the Ancile if the Fujin realizes and goes right back up. Just do a small burst every time you see them start to disengage. It will annoy and wear down Fujin pilots, and keep you from wasting your rockets. Don't bother trying this on stationary Fujin pilots. If you can tell they don't intend on dropping their shield and moving any time soon, don't waste your time. This is only applicable when you catch a Fujin out in the open trying to get somewhere. And it works best if you're in a RDB, because then you can stay out of their range (unless it's a Tulu Fujin, in which case I don't advise using this trick at all).

I don't know if you have noticed this, but the shield animation seems bugged whenever I fire my rockets at the Fujin and Raijin. Whenever the shield deactivates, the Fujin lowers itself to the point where the rockets barely hit it, going right over it.

Electronetic I should have done some more testing before posting. This may be something specific to Orkans and Pinatas due to their small splash radius. A rocket exploding at the high point when the bot is at the low point may not be close enough for splash to hit. So my original post might only apply to RDB vs Fujins. I would need to do more testing to be sure. Just FYI, for rockets vs Raijin, I generally will wait if they're in the process of going up or down out of habit because the animation does mess up targeting. Timing doesn't matter against a Raijin since it has no protection against rockets.

I know when going into Bastion mode, the Raijin can juke homing missiles like Hydras. But I haven't tried it when leaving Bastion mode. It's possible the same glitch applies to both, going into Bastion and leaving it. But for Fujin, I haven't been able to notice it being able to juke when leaving Sentry mode, it only works when entering Sentry mode. This is mainly juking plasma though, since it already has a shield so no point in trying to juke rockets.

I haven't tried to juke Orkans and Piñata Matrix style. I know Raijins can juke homing missiles, but that's because they don't have splash.
