So, there are two new weapons in early July and three new bots either later in July or August. I have not been around for new releases before, not entirely sure whether there is a big bang impact of a gradual change. And more to the point are people doing something in advance or just waiting to see what happens? I would have thought it will take people a little while to buy and upgrade new stuff, so new stuff would start appearing gradually, giving people time to adapt, but I have no idea. I have no immediate plans to buy anything new, just going to see what happens on that front. But a few thoughts crossed my mind: - All my active bots are at 9, was planning on just leaving them there until the dust starts to settle. - I am currently upgrading weapons across the board, all 8/9 at this point, but there are quite a few light hard point weapons in the que, it struck me Griffins may become and endangered species and light hard points might not feature that prominently going forward? - People have mentioned that they are upgrading spare medium hard point gear as the new bots take 3 mediums? I don’t have any spares lying around, but could get started on a few, but don't want to waste effort until I am sure? - Some folk are mentioning weapons I don’t have, Hydra’s being the main one (have zeus’s).
Want to try and avoid upgrading anything or waste WSP points on anything that might clearly become redundant in the next month, any thoughts?

Im getting my hangar ready for a hiachi and a bulgasari. Planning on running a tulu hiachi and an orkan bulgasari. So am currently leveling 3rd tulu and orkan for them. Cant wait. They were an absolute blast to play on the test server. I hope to win one...and depending on how well pix roles out the event ill spend money to get the 2nd....we'll see.
Im also putting final levels on 2 tarancilots as that, from my experience in the test server, was the best counter to the korean bots.
Leveling a gekko Patton for long range. Ive actually shelved my treb butch infavor of the patton.

I'm personally of the opinion that there isn't a long range bot worth levelling. It's not that they are bad, per se, it is that they are low impact, low reward bots in terms of winning. While they can post excellent damage numbers by the end of the game, very little of that damage really contributes to a team winning. My goal is to win and get better doing it, because that is what is fun for *me*. The impact will mostly be gradual - it takes time to level new weapons and bots, and even more time to learn how to pilot them and pilot against them. A wait and see approach is generally more advisable for new releases. People are predicting a lot of things that may or may not be true on the live servers once everything gets there. My advice: play the event, pick up any limited time reward weapons you can, and wait until the meta starts to shake out a bit to choose what to upgrade from it.

My hangar is built around bots that can knifefight. I run 2 tarancilots, a db griff, and another wild card slot either another griff, carnage, or doc my disco pat rounds out my 5th slot. This hangar does really well on the smaller maps. I find that on the longer maps: canyon, spring, and yamantu i like using a longer bot that i use to clear other snipers and neutralize midrange bots and harass knifes. The tulu buff indirectly buffed fekkos because i find way more soft targets now. I was using a treb butch annd it is really effective on long maps. It sucked on the smaller maps. So basically in small maps i, for all itents and purposes, was a 4 bot hangar as treb butch was all but useless; think maps like deadcity and moon. My patton is lvl9 with lvl 11-12 gekkos. I can do 800k+ damage with it on long maps(assuming i dont have to eject to get beacons) and its fast enough that i can use it to flank and cap beacons on smaller maps. It'll do 60k damage (almost) in 1 7 second burst it reloads while firing so even though the description says you get 5 bursts per cycle you actually get 6 as you get 1 reload while firing. It has continuous fire like a tulu griff. And ive been able to knife bots as long as im with another blue. All in all its almost as good as my treb butch on long maps and waay better on short maps. Its actually my favorite bot atm. Oh and its waay cheaper in silver to lvl than a treb butch. Honestly i wont be suprised is gekkos get nerfed as i find theyre almost op when using 4 at once. I play expert 1 and i usually squad with champs so i know its viable in top. Gekkos just have a bad rap from its past weaker versions.

Well now I'm stuck with my Butch at 10/11 Trebs.....and I still have to pay the high silver, and it is really hard to use him on small maps. But it's firepower is just superior. When a Patton is pointing at me, I just lose 5-10 percent health. But he will lose more than 60,which means he won't touch me again. And I like being able to face Thunder Carnages at 50% health.....and finishing them off even point blank.

I know where to stand on maps in my patton where i can fire all 4 gekkos and trebs cant touch me. Example: on canyon i can stand behind the pillars by the bridges at home beacons. Trebs harmlessly hit the pillar. It takes butches atleast 5 seconds to walk out of cover, fire, and return to cover. It that time ive taken 1/3 your health for none of mine. Ive also noticed when im in my butch i get targeted by anyone within range but in my patton i get ignored all while im inflicting 50k damage every 15 seconds. Alli in all im quite happy with patty. Miminal silver investment. To get from 11 to 12 gekks only take 14mil silver. Call it a poor mans sniper.

in answer to the OP, yes, i am preparing... Orks and tarans are the only thing i'm leveling right now.
both for the Dash bots to carry... and to counter them.
I should have 6 of each weapon leveled to 11 by the time they drop.
Like you, i'm not tipping anything into bots themselves.. they can all stay at 9 until it becomes clearer which ones will be viable in the new world.

I'm actually more interested in acquiring more Docs' and Butches.
The Tempest and Scourge are what interest me most about this Event.
Since this is only my second Event, the first being the "Birthday Bash," I really don't know where I should be focusing .. So, business as usual for me ..

Bots staying at 10, as some might be swapped out by new stuff. I have a 5th taran and 5th Orkan coming along, since the Dash bots will take 3. I am envisioning a hangar of Ancilot, triple taran Dash, triple orkan Dash, DB or RDB Griff, Zeus Carnage. But thats based on a lot of guesswork as to how available the bots will be, and how effective their final release stats will be.
If the Tempest/Scourge prove to be insane, then maybe a scourge/Zeus Lance becomes a midrange option, or a triple tempest Fury.

I look forward to the Scourge. I do plan on getting some. Ancelot will be first recipiant.
No interest in the Tempest.
I want the light Kia dash, but will stick with my Rogatka.
Will give the medium Kia dash a shot, like every other Harry, 「wee-wee」 and Bob.
Really want to like the Heavy Kia dash, but it just doesn't do anything for me, especially knowing of the descend heavy prototype. Pass.

Are Gekko patton's that good? I have a low level patton and some lvl 6 gekko's, butthey are collecting dust in the store room at the moment
Have you been microwaved by Vader Pattons (4 Lvl. 12 Gekko Pattons) yet? Because 「fluffernutter」 they sure burn, especially Springfield & Yamantau. Came across Vader Pattons a number of times on Yamantau, they didn't take a single bit of damage, but inflicted easily 1mil in total damage....

Orks, Tulus, Tarans. Make sure you have 3 of each leveled up and you will be good to go.

'Preparing'? Yes.
Physical:
1. I'm nursing my navigation thumb back to health with less battles right now, pressing lighter on the iPad screen, using an exfoliation stick, and applying lotion, all in preparation for the many sleepless nights to come! 2. Better eating patterns to optimize energy 3. Getting caught up on sleep 4. Having a new tactical vision screen installed in my eyegear
Mental:
'I will have fun blowing stuff up, sneaking, and refining my piloting skills. If I win stuff as a result, that's fun too; if I don't, the real reward was I had fun. If teammates steal my beacon or shoot at me not to steal their beacon, I will offer them the victory and enjoy doing so. If teammates do lame things that contribute to battle loss or my death, its ok, I had fun blowing stuff up, sneaking and refining my piloting skills!'
Hangar:
It will change a lot according to tasks, and what I find the most effective and fun, or the most challenging for learning new piloting skills. For example, I had been leaving Butch in the reserve hangar until I get two more leveled trebs. Instead, I put L9 Tridents/L9 Thunder and explored mobility tactics and closer ranged battle. Learned a lot, and it was super fun. Instead of getting my panties all up in a twist, I focus on the game difficulties being a great opportunity to learn, and acknowledge how much fun I'm having. If I don't take risks and explore, then I'm not pushing myself to be a more refined pilot, which for me is one of the funnest elements of the battle. I just entered expert league by having too much fun. Am I an expert? Hell no! I have so much to learn, and I don't really get the system, whatever, but this sure is one hell of a game and community. My heartfelt thanks!
