I picked up a Rog after the buff and have absolutely LOVED it. It's like having my cossack back, but with hitpoints! I have, however, started to find myself using mediums much more often, and my Griffins are typically becoming my last choice for battle. (The Rog has more health than my Griffs, and not too much less damage potential). Anyway, I'm contemplating getting a second one; probably as a replacement for the plasma Griffin. With the Dashbots on the horizon, I'm feeling like the old PDB is probably about to become much less survivable, and another Rog would help with beacon push. I've got 2,200 Au, currently, to work with. The Carnage's second Zeus is currently under upgrade. I've also got a pair of lvl8 Tridents and thunders for it. My only hesitation is that I'll be investing in making my lineup more bouncy and fast, but less capable of dealing damage. What are your thoughts?

I think you should wait for the new dash bots and see if that's where you want to spend your gold. Just my opinion, feel free to do what you want.

The only reason I am waiting on new bot purchases at the moment is you never know what might be won in the upcoming event. If you win a rog, that 2,200 gold can be put to use elsewhere. Orks for your rog or an ancile maybe.

I loved my taran Rog, but replaced him with a plasma Griff. The extra firepower makes a huge difference. Rog is my favorite bot to pilot, but at the same time, he is also best used situationally. With dash bots around the corner and the event in a week, being patient is the best move, like the previous posters said. Rog is always available in the shop and you have plenty of upgrades to work on in the meantime. That's my current hangar - I have a level 7 Rog in storage, along with some base level orkans. If anything, I will probably drop my Carnage to put another Ork Rog on the team once I get everything else to level 9.

I got two Rogs from the chests and one more from the Quest. Honestly, I was very disappointed when I got one from chest. I see only two possible uses for running same bots in a hangar: 1) When you learn how to pilot a thing, it's a good idea to get several with different loadout, so you can see what's what 2) When you are saving up, and have no Au\WP for different bot (I was running silver hangar with 2xGriffins 2xLeos)
Other than that - there are many fun bots out there. But that's just subjective.
On the objective note - I believe Rogs would be extinct when Dashes hit the street. Main problem is with a jump. While Dash can use jump to dodge the shot, with a Rog you are basically a sitting duck in the air, and more than that, enemy can time you landing and hit when your bot suffering from a landing lag.
Having said that, I think Rogs are VERY fun bots, it's just that they won't worth the money in a matter of months. So if you are budget player - then I advice waiting for the Dashes. If you are not, and having fun with Rog - then by all means buy another, they are fun.

I run both an Orkan Rog and Taran Rog in my hangar. One of them I've been running since Private league, and the second one I won in one of the Superchests in the last event. I was bummed that I didn't win a Galahad (though I did come very close), but then the 2.9 update came along. So it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Sometimes you just gotta play the cards you're dealt.

Go for it!
Regarding load-out:
Tarans, ok.
Orkans, excellent if you're good at closing the distance without being shredded by tulumbas etc.
Tulumbas, excellent!
Regarding closing the distance:
Using terrain and cover, well timed jumps, and unpredictability (zig-zags, sudden stops, waiting, and moving without rhythm), you can close the distance on rocket lobbers, molot spitters, and campy LR ?illegitimate child?s.
But alas, I suppose using gold to upgrade weapons might be a better choice until most weapons in active hangar L8+.

Rog is fun but its effectiveness for most pilots is honestly dubious at best. It's a very skill orientated bot and most players spend their time jumping around like fools doing pin 「cotton headed ninny muggins」 damage while i'm lighting them up with my pdb griffin. Unless you have a significant skill advantage using it i'd say don't buy another. A lot of guys think they are good with it but in game experience i've seen very few good rog pilots.

I LOVE my Rog and have waxed Lyrical about the awesomeness of the Tulumbus Rog. I call it the mosquito and think it's awesome. I sometimes throw on orkans or Tarans for fun too. They are the most fun bot in game right now and piloted correctly can be devastating.
Also the most psychologically offensive bot in game. You can REALLY annoy people in a Rog.
I would LOVE another one... but I'm not getting one. Haechi is coming!

I still run Destriers, Schultze or eben Raijin from time to time and they still have utility. On top of that, Rogs are sub-meta bits and Dash bots will probably be Meta bots. They should not be competing for the same roles in TT except maybe the MKI.

The only utility for destriers and schultze is if you are trying to tank.

Schutze isnt even that good at lower leagues with the thunder anymore either.

Destrier, 2 L12 spirals. You wouldn't like me! Gepard can still do it better. Maybe. Depends on the piloting. I've seen plenty Gepard pilots shooting obstacles instead of reds. Anyways, point is, every mech and weapon has its place.

That makes zero sense since we are talking basic bot usefulness and not pilot skill. Destrier has no place except as a freebie in the very beginning to learn the game. Afterwards it's just a liability to your hangar and team. If you run it in higher leagues then your team probably hates you.

I got 3 of em and love them. Jump is great for current rocket-meta (assuming that's still the meta-haven't been on in about a week and a half lol). That said, event is right around the corner so you could wait and see what it's about.
As for dash bots... they might not be out till late august or something, who knows. But just bear in mind that when they do come out they may be better than the rog.
(Although dash might be influence so would be hard to get and not very common, so even if they are way better than rog it may not matter as there could be not many of them in the meta)
Overall I'd wait till event. See how that goes. Or if you think that you earn gold very fast than go for it, it's all about having fun so if you find rog really fun (I do, favourite boy) than go for it.

If you like them so much get 2. Just bear in mind they aren't as useful the higher up you get.

Tell us what possible utility there is with two inferior lightbots compared with other lights. Schutze isnt even that good at lower leagues with the thunder anymore either. You better go to parade rest when I'm talking to you PVT Schmuckatelli; A) I'm not saying they are good bots or recommending them. I used them as examples BECAUSE they are the worst bots in the game. Point is, I can make them work, not that they work better than any other bot (they don't). If the OP really enjoys the Rog, they can make it work higher than were they are meta. It's something to consider, not everyone is "top_tier or bust!!!" B) Accusing someone of being a tanker is the rudest ?firetruck?ing thing you can do on this forum. I'm not sure if you are ingnorant, an ?poo place? or a troll, but all three are punishable under the Uniform Code of Robot Justice. I hereby sentance you to reduction of rank to newb, forfiture of one months Au, 45 days extra duty and 45 days restriction to LQ.

Was annoyed at first. Satisfied after. That's one reason not to pickup more, an another is that they are incredibly expensive to upgrade. Level 9 = 5 million. Also, despite the high health pool I find they get smacked down very fast. And I don't know why, other than they don't have great short range options. I'm thinking to run with some tulu, seem to be a good swap in
