Not that I plan on equipping them, but what if you had a small bot like a Stalker equipped with noricums, and ran it right up to a large bot like a Lancelot or a Natasha, then fired them off. Would the adjacent bot get hit with the full salvo?

This is referred to as "Noricum Karate" or "Noricum Uppercut." I believe they have to be slightly above you, but yes, this does work.

I wonder if this will be a real combat tactic once the new noricum buff comes out. The Noricum stalker, once the butt of jokes, now the source of battlefield terror...
Please let it happen!!

It won't, because they are buffing projectile speed, fire speed, distance and spread. So for upclose and personal confrontation all remains the same, i.e.: - Damage - Reload time - Projectiles per clip - No fire when reload still

Having no Stalker nor Norricums I'll have to wait for others coming with great stories

That could actually do signficant damage, if it was executed perfectly and it would certainly make me laugh if I saw it, maybe even laugh harder if I was the recipient. Does anyone know if this would also work with a zenit?

Does anyone know if this would also work with a zenit? Are you the person who asked the same in the Wiki the other day? :-D Yes, it would, but your enemy must be lethargic bot standing at one place for ~17 seconds while you release your payload. And the smallest bot who can mount Zenit is a Schutze, so it won't be THAT much of a damage.

No, that wasn't me, and if it was a slow bot, and you were in a more agile bot, you would be doing your best to stay "glued" to your target.

However Thunders would be doing tons of damage in the same situation, but it won't be as fun, right? :-D

Alas, it's not that great with numbers: lvl 5 Pinata: 11.5 k damage in 1 salvo lvl 5 Norricum: 15 k damage in 1 salvo Yes, damage is higher with Norricums, but not enough to make Norricum Stalker a bot reaper

Does anyone know if this would also work with a zenit? Problem is that the Zenit sits so high on a not. At best maybe a Schultz could pull it off but...getting a Schultz that close to say a fury would be tough and why not use a thunder at that point? Any other bot would require the perfect position on the map slightly below the target which would be hard to do.

To answer the original question (as others have) yes, it's possible, and yes, it can be effective. I will run KarateNori hangers periodically just because it's quirky, and fun to pull off. As the video posted above, the Geps do a great job in using this, as does the (IMHO) the stalker, the patton and the Gep.
In regards to the new buff for the Nori's... they make it an *excellent* thing. A few weekends ago I ran a 5 gep hanger with nothing but nori's.. and had a BLAST! On maps like the Moon map, or Springfield, where you can get below many bots, you can wreak absolute carnage on em. I think you will see a new use of those when the buff comes out, because it's just so much fun to use, and such a highly unlikely source of damage that it just is unexpected. Pilots just seem to see a Gep running around with Nori's, and then write them off as nothing to worry about, right up until they catch them sleeping.

However, IMHO, it would be a decent weapon, only limited by minimum shooting range (they are fiddling with the settings, but IIRC it would be around 150-300m). P.s. Speaking about cool Noricum - did you know that Hydra was essentially a "homing noricum" when it was introduced to a test server and called "swarm"? Some bonus gameplay and HEY, IT'S A DAYLIGHT YAMANTAU!

I love how it can be dodged by fast robots. it looks OP in this video, but a lower powered version of this would be great to play with.

It looks balanced enough to me. Slow firerate, dodgeable, big reload, big price (same as Taran) - pretty decent balance. Anyways, there are seems to be leftovers of "Swarm" in current Hydra description =) The part about "not effective against fast robots". Because Hydra as it is now is pretty effective against small ones.
