I regularly stay in Leaver's Queue. Not because I want to tank, because I don't. I play to win every game, and my win rate is around 70-75% regularly. I stay in LQ because the game incentivizes me to. Once you reach an 8/8 hangar, Ag is by far the hardest thing to come by.
In LQ, I can do 400-600k damage and sometimes more in pretty much every match. And the match is usually over in less than 5 minutes. That means I'm getting 200k-400k depending if I win or not, every 5-6 minutes.
In regular queue (now Masters II on iOS), I face a plethora of Ancilots. Shooting my butt off for long 10 minute matches, much of my damage is just pelting into Ancile and physical shields. I end up with 300-400k, have a win rate about 50%. This means I'm getting much less silver per match, I don't get to play against a variety of bots, and I'm taking twice as long to finish matches.
When silver is the most valuable resource, and I can accumulate silver nearly three times faster in LQ, why on earth would I play in regular queue?
Before you say it, I'm not ruining anyone's game play. To get into tanker queue, I start a match and leave before the 15 second time runs out. I am then promptly replaced by the system, but my account still takes a "leave". Doing this ten times will usually get me in the LQ for a couple of days. Where I'm only facing other people in the LQ. I understand that I am pummeling some noobs there, but they aren't there because of me. They're there because Pixonic has done absolutely nothing to inform in-game players of what the LQ is or how you get into it and out of it. Out of the vast amount of players in game, I'd say a generous estimate is that 10% of them check forums or Facebook for information. Which means 90% of them don't even know that LQ exists. There is no notification in the game when you are in or out of it, and there is nothing in the game that even indicates that it is there. It looks exactly the same, except you're mixed with bronze all the way through champion leagues. This is a fundamental mistake by Pixonic, and whether or not I'm in LQ, those noobs will unknowingly be stuck in it and getting pounded anyways.
I've always felt that Pixonic should have a silver payout multiplier that increases as you climb leagues. Even if LQ was still more profitable, if I maybe got 2x the silver per match in Masters as you get in bronze, I'd stay in regular queue. But as is, with 3x the payout per minute in LQ, I'm going to stay there for good.

This is a glorious amount of self-rationalization and blame-shifting, well done. A veritable mansion filled with covered mirrors.

Just because you can be a 「wee-wee」, and are incentivized by life sometimes to be a 「wee-wee」, doesn't mean it's right to be a 「wee-wee」. But by all means, close those elevator doors before the elderly lady gets there, so you can be more punctual. Splash those kids at the bus stop by plowing through that puddle to save wear on your brakepads... yup, sounds like your philosophy is just great.

It's not his fault, @heavypanda, that the landlord didn't install a faster elevator system. If they had, he wouldn't be forced to close those doors on the elderly lady. Not his fault that the brake manufacturer didn't design more durable pads so he wouldn't be forced to such extreme measures to prolong their life. You're taking aim at the wrong guy here!

@heavypanda and Dredd77, your example is completely unrelated. Those examples directly affect another person. If I'm in an elevator and there's anyone in my sight line that is coming to the elevator, I will hold the door for them. Same thing if I am walking through a door, I will hold it open for the next. And I would never splash someone with a puddle, as I can't even imagine how much it would ruin their day. The fact that I'm in LQ has no effect on any other person. The LQ matchmaker isn't random. It pretty regularly puts one person from each league on each team. So each team is made up of 1 bronze, 1 silver, 1 gold, 1 diamond, and 2 people from expert-champion. If I'm in LQ or not in LQ, it has 0 effect on the composition of the teams or outcome of the game. And the fact that I'm in LQ is completely unrelated to the new players that are in LQ and shouldn't be. Or should at least be aware that they are there. This is a question to both or you, but mainly Dredd77 since today has been quite enlightening. What is it that makes you look down on other humans as just being such bad people? You couldn't care less about the fact that there are countless new players stuck in a purgatory that they don't even know exists, because caring about that would get in the way of putting me down? Why is putting someone else down more important to you than discussing the actual issue, and talking about how to fix the issue?

Don't rationalize your play style by saying someone/thing is forcing you to play that way. That argument has been made over and over. It's not going to convince anyone that it's ok who already knows it's not. By making a statement like this you are putting yourself into the camp of those who are working the system and power gaming to get your resources. I've said it before, say whatever you want to be able to look at yourself in the mirror, just don't expect anyone else to get that image.

Who cares? No one needs to validate your propensity to take the easy road. Why throw it up how great it is? Self promoting how great the LQ seems pretty oxymoronic. It's way easier to hit the ball with a T-ball stand in baseball, but spare us your 1000 batting average, and wall full of medals as anything other than clowinish stats to represent clownish behavior.
Even Blasternaut, tanker of tankers, does not know what to do with his Champ tag he earned in the LQ...its worthless. Every time he comes out into NQ he gets the stiffest 「dookie」 the MM can throw...back in he goes. Perpetual quitterville.

I've said it before, say whatever you want to be able to look at yourself in the mirror, just don't expect anyone else to get that image. My mobile gaming etiquette has nothing to do with my actual life, so I have no problem looking in the mirror. This thread wasn't to rationalize me playing in LQ. Tanking was wrong, and I still did that from time to time. You can exploit the current system without tanking now, and that's what I do. I see something as "wrong" when it negatively affects someone else. Playing in the LQ does not affect anyone else. That's a cold hard fact. You could remove 100% of the exploiters from the game and there would still be a full LQ ranging throughout the leagues. The reason for that is because there has been no in game notification saying that LQ exists, what it is, and how to stay out of it. And not everyone that plays the game follows the additional news sources for the game such as the forums or Facebook. This thread was to point out a problem with the game and their "solution". To alter my suggestion, since someone feels the need to skew my opinions as entitled.. the current silver payout ratio should become the standard payout for Champions league. Every league below Champions should have a discounted reward (90% for masters, 80% for Expert, etc). Bronze and below should have 50% of the maximum silver payout ratios. LQ should have 25% of the maximum silver payout ratios. This way, nobody gets anything more than they're getting right now. But the problem of exploiting LQ, and the problem with tanking is solved.

Alright, mijapi300 , here are today's utterances that I take issue with. They've clearly just arbitrarily picked numbers as MSRP in order to decieve people into thinking it's a deal. You're making quite a negative allegation there, but present no proof. In fact, an analysis of the all the data gave compelling indications that this was not the case, since they actually underhyped deals too. This points more to incompetence than malfeasance. I've gathered from your blog, which is informative and enjoyable, that you have a decently sized expendable income. Many of us mobile players don't, so these prices come as a slap to the face. The implication here is that if I wasn't rich (which I'm far from) and therefore isolated from the day-to-day struggles of the less well-to-do, I'd see things your way. Since you know absolutely nothing about me, this was a pretty foolish thing to say. Howabout next time, "Dredd, do you think that your personal level of disposable income might influence your opinion one way or the other?" The silver deal is ridiculously expensive by most people's standards. Wikipedia defines these sorts of statements as "weasel words." You don't speak for "most people," so don't. You have absolutely no evidence to back this up. Replace the opinion-word "ridiculously' with 'likely' and your statement probably stands up. But then, I doubt the 99 cent deal isn't "ridiculously expensive" by the same standard as the expensive one. And expensive, bulk deals aren't for everyone, never have been. It reminds you that it is unreasonably difficult to acquire silver through gameplay "Unreasonably." Again here you tend to take your own opinion and ascribe it to the many, which is what I was getting at with the news/op-ed comment. Most players are unlikely to face the sort of Silver frustrations those of us striving for the top do. ANd there's nothing wrong with Pixonic building in a certain rate of progression. You clearly think you should get where you want to go faster, which is one of those sentiments that gives you a whiff of entitlement. "I'm not leveling up fast enough, the game is the problem." Okay. It goes beyond the simple fact that the deal is a bad deal financially for the majority of people Weasel words again. You present absolutely no evidence whatsoever to back this up. It's a bad deal financially for you, perhaps. But this is a rare time where Silver is available at a discount, and even though the lower-end deals aren't great, they're still discounts. this feature ONLY BENEFITS EXPLOITERS. They need to make the benefits better, and make it so you don't have to share the post on your Facebook This feature is brand new, and you're acting like it's fully formed. In fact, you claim there's only "one way" to get IP, and others had to point out that there were two more: buying them, and entering contests. About the former, you groused about cost. About the latter, you groused about having to put the effort in to make a video. Not every promotion is going to be equally available to all participants, and a company should have the right to reward a "Street Team" for helping "get the word out." This was also where I felt you were being very entitled, particularly when you said: Yes, if you have the time, software, and ability to record yourself playing and upload the video. A benefit for a relatively small segment of the players in the game. That just comes off as super-spoiled to me. "I can't be bothered to participate, but I deserve the ribbon too." I don't think I can do this much longer, your attitude (which I ascribed, fairly or otherwise, to the likelihood that you're a millennial which you soon confirmed) is harshing my vibe, brah. But let's do a couple more, while I'm waiting for dinner to finish cooking. I stay in LQ because the game incentivizes me to This is what @heavypanda keyed on. Statements like this sound like "it's not my fault, circumstance forced my hand." Rightly or wrongly, there are those who perceive you gaming the system for personal advantage to be something between unsporting, and unethical. I happen to be one of those people who looks down on that sort of conduct. You deride it as Pixo's fault that you have to "pound noobs" for your Silver payola. You're absolutely right that Pixo needs to do more to let new players know what's going on, but you still choose to go there knowing that those "innocent noobs" will be there for you to pound. But of course, that's all Pixo's fault, nothing you can do. Hilariously, you have the cheek to say this in the very same post: Before you say it, I'm not ruining anyone's game play. Huh. Now, the Wild West bot pricing: That brings me back to the price. They cost nearly 3x the cash price of every other premium bot in the game. There's no reason for that. There are lots of reasons- and precedence- for using price to convey exclusivity, and exclusivity can often justify a price to select consumers that others think are outrageous. Look at "luxury" brands, they ain't just selling quality. Okay, I still have a ton of your posts to go through, but I just can't do it anymore. I don't dislike you personally, mijapi300 , I thought your return to the Gareth was excellent content. But you talked a load of pish today on these threads, and that's what got my attention. Weasel words and declarative statements devoid of evidence have a higher likelihood of getting a critical response from me that your ordinary, garden-variety pish.

Which is about 28.9K gold ($200) assuming you paid full price for them and Pixonic did not give it to you for free nor did you win them in the event.

mijapi300, not much for me to add that was not stated above, but since you asked me for input, I will state that it is not personal, and putting people down is not something I do very often or even enjoy as you insinuate. You act as though my comments or the negative reactions of others are some sort of unsolicited attack on you personally. The reality is that this a forum, where people with differing opinions on topics discuss and debate them. You started a thread (the thousandth thread maybe of this same ilk?) that basically says Pix makes you be a LQ guy, that it doesnt hurt anyone, and that you shower in awesome rewards of extra silver gleaned from the blood of noobs. I disagree with that path, and so state my opinion. If you expected everyone here to give you kudos for your OP, you don't know the moral compass of this forum very well. I share a very different viewpoint as you do about the harm done by quitters, and therefore, I point that out, not really to convince you of anything, but for the silent readers of this forum looking to read up on the topic of the LQ and whether it is a good idea or not.

Personally I think think the OP was made to receive some form of approval and therefore make the OP feel less guilty about his actions. I was in LQ for a week and yes I loved the rewards but the games were so messed up I couldn't wait to get out. I play to measure myself against the best and not take advantage of noobs or lesser equipped players. It's the challenge of it all the I enjoy. No challenge in beating a 6/6 hangar when mine is 10/10.

Dredd77 You take excerpts from what I say, withold the contex, and pretend that you're holier than though. The MSRP go both ways, but in the instances that it's understated, it's understated by 10-20%. In some of the instances that it's overstated, it's by 300-400%. It's clear that incompetence was present, but the underlying intent leans more towards misleading. They just didn't do the homework to make sure it made sense. I didn't claim you were rich. Here, like many other times, you're putting your own meaning on my words, some of which I didn't even say. I said you have more expendable income than many. Which is backed up by facts from your blog. Based on things you've said in your blog, it would seem that you make a couple hundred dollars a month in purchases. I know many players from the game, not many of which can afford such an expense. Also, what I was saying is exactly what you put in quotes there, but you decided to put a negative connotation on it of your own doing for some reason. I think blanket statement would be a more respectable way to put what I said about silver pricing, but you're more prone to personal attacks rather than respectful debate today. Blanket statements aren't accurately all encompassing. I was speaking based on the opinions I've personally heard. From a sample size of about 50 players that I've either spoken to or seen post about it, nearly all of them have expressed they feel silver is overpriced. To further the statement, I've never seen a person express that they feel silver is priced appropriately. The same applies to the comment about unreasonably slow silver acquisition. I base that on the opinions of the players I regularly talk to. The deal being bad financially for most people was another blanket statement. This one I will admit was based on nothing more than my opinion. As far as IP, I stand by what I said. What I also said that you convenient left out of context (common trend occurring here) is that I like the idea of the promotion. But it also is only available to a small segment of the players, so I don't consider it as a regular method to obtain IP. Also, buying the IP with gold is basically identical to buying gold, so I don't view that as a different way to obtain IP. You're not actually obtaining IP, you're directly buying a bot that way. I treat that as a cash for bot transaction. Not a cash for gold for IP for bot transaction, because that's redundant. There is currently one way to obtain IP in-game, and that method makes no sense. I went further to say that if they weren't ready to implement it yet then they shouldn't have. Every company that releases or implements something that isn't ready gets lambasted, and this is not different. As far as the way you construed what I said about the time/software/ability to upload a video, I don't understand how that is considered spoiled. I don't know how to record video from the game, although I could look that up easy. The problem for me personally comes with equipment and software. I don't have video editing software, nor do I have a PC for personal use (I have one for working at home). This PC is an old one that I wouldn't think is strong enough to even run video editing software. I've had no reason to purchase a PC (I don't do PC gaming or really anything at home that requires more than my mobile phone). Nowhere in my statement did I say that I deserve the 2,500 IP just as much as those that do the work to earn it. I don't, and I'm glad there are people doing that to get the word out. I was simply making a statement that that method of IP acquisition is not available to a large portion of gamers that don't have the ability to record their gameplay. You put your own negative viewpoint of other human beings and literally came to a conclusion that wasn't existent in my comment. I was simply stating a fact that for a lot of people, the Facebook invites is the only practical way to get IP. Additionally to your comment here, I always laugh when people believe that all millennials are the same. For one, even if you believe in that stuff, my birth year falls under Gen Y. Even if I was a millennial, saying that all millennials are entitled is akin to saying all black people are gangsters or all Mexicans are illegal. Stereotypes aren't reality, buddy. And if you want some factual background, my parents were 40 when they had me, so I was raised by baby boomers. Meaning I was raised with the ideals similar to most Gen X people. Going further, I started working as soon as I was legally able to. Because I wanted things, and didn't want to depend on anyone for those things. I've never asked for nor accepted handouts. When I couldn't pay rent, I asked for an extra shift, or I ate top ramen and mac n cheese that week. Enough life story though, I'm entitled I guess. Next comment, LQ incentives. Again, you're claiming I said something I didn't. Or I tried to justify something. You completely misread the intention of the post, because you saw opportunity to judge and attack. The point of the post was to point out a problem. I view the current state of the game when it comes to LQ as a problem that's been mistreated and ignored. The game didn't force my hand. I just chose to take advantage of the loophole you can judge me for that if you want. But I never said it was right, nor justified doing it. I want it to be fixed, and I explained a solution that would fix it, which you mostly ignored in favor of attacking the rest of the post. Also, I stand by the fact that I'm not ruining anyone else's game. I know you're an intelligent man, so if you had taken the time to read the rest of the comment, you'd comprehend the statements that back that up. Statements you agreed to in other threads. There are SO many people that don't even know that LQ exists, that it would be a full queue with or without the exploiters. And it mixes all leagues with or without the exploiters. Those newbies will be facing champion hangars no matter what, the way the system is. There is absolutely nothing you or I can do that has any effect whatsoever on that fact. So whether you look down on me for exploiting the loophole or not, you can't go beyond that and claim something that isn't true. My actions have no bearing on the experience those new players will get. They're going to be pounded no matter what in the LQ. And the worst part is that they don't even know why. They think it's how the game is. And that needs to be addressed, so I wrote about it. The Wild West exclusivity was addressed in another response elsewhere so I'll ignore that one here. The bottom line is, as long as you keep putting your own twist on my words and even making up things I didn't even say, I'm going to keep defending myself. I get that there are trolls on every forum, but one of the more respected moderators here, I wouldn't think you'd be one. And I'm not going to attack your character with a backhanded compliment here with a petty remark at the end of it. Mainly because I do respect you and your opinions, and this kind of treatment isn't your norm. I enjoy many of your posts and all of your blogs, and you bring a lot of knowledge to the forums.

Most of my reply was directed towards dredd, so I apologize for not making that clear. But you are also missing the point. I don't quit games. I leave when the timer is at 14 seconds and am replaced. So no game is ever short handed because I leave. If I had to wait for a match to start in order for it to count as a leave, I wouldn't do that. Because that puts my teammates at a disadvantage. When I'm replaced before the game starts, it doesn't. As far as the noobs in LQ, read the rest of my post before replying. What I'm doing isn't the most noble path. But what I'm doing has no effect on them. Because there are people all the way up to Champions that are in LQ and don't know why. Without exploiters, those noobs that don't know why they're there will have the same exact experience. The solution to that, as I tried to suggest, is to have an in game indicator of what LQ is and the rules regarding it. Again, I apologize for lumping you in with Dredd. And I respect your opinion that what I'm doing is wrong. If I personally had any effect on other people in what I was doing, I wouldn't be doing it. But the problem is there and permanent until it's fixed and I have nothing to do with that.

You have a LQ that is still full of people that don't know they're there, or why they're in it, or how to get out. You still have matches with bronze through champions every match. Because Pixonic designed it that way, and implemented it, and only told a small portion of their players about it. There is nothing in game that tells people about it, and that is a huge problem that should be addressed. P.S. While it's long an spanning across multiple threads, don't throw your two cents in if you haven't followed it at all. I get that it's a lot of reading, but if you don't want to take the time to read, then just don't.

I have had to sit through untold amounts of games for retards who exploit...you are not gonna get a dimes worth of validation for any excuse you come up with. It ain't a "playstyle", so can that ?poo-poo? right quick like. No, that is not the state of the debate. I'm in LQ as long as it's there and I'm not affecting others. That wasn't the point of the post, nor was I trying to gain approval. The point of the post was to point out a problem. Take 100% of the exploiters out of the game, what do you have? You have a LQ that is still full of people that don't know they're there, or why they're in it, or how to get out. You still have matches with bronze through champions every match. Because Pixonic designed it that way, and implemented it, and only told a small portion of their players about it. There is nothing in game that tells people about it, and that is a huge problem that should be addressed. P.S. While it's long an spanning across multiple threads, don't throw your two cents in if you haven't followed it at all. I get that it's a lot of reading, but if you don't want to take the time to read, then just don't. Yes well, you're doing it for science sake is - very altruistic ...but I take issue with the 'you never hurt anyone' comment...How many games you blow? There were other people in those games eh? How many people you see on these forums complaining about people tanking games and getting pissed? How many threads about it had to be locked by mods flooded by it...? How much time does Pix waste on the likes of coding for exploiters ???There is a cost, and you are hurting the game for others... and who gives a flying ?firetruck? if people know they are in it? Why the concern about the players getting screwed by Pix not giving clear entry and exit parameters? Why does it even matter to you? I doubt its for the concern for the poor people who don't know they are in it, or the betterment of the game...If it was you would not screw games and the people in them to begin with. And dude, you are talking to the guy who coined the term "Tanking" and called it the hell out for what it is.

Having to backfill your ejaculation with a wild random, and late, affects the outcome...When I get dropped in 40 seconds into a game because of you...that effects things a lot...And when you press the button to leave too late and there is no backfill...You don't get any traction here on this because its stupidly obvious. At this point it must be really cool to be contrarian when your position is so starkly absurd.

The game doesn't start before I leave. It's impossible for it to fill it 40 seconds in. It fills it before the game even starts. Meaning my replacement is there before any bot on the field has a chance to move a step. This has been tested by multiple clans and proven to be true as well. If you leave immediately (ie BEFORE the initial 15 second timer), you're replaced before the game starts.

Someone wanna summarize this for some Forum gold? I'm already a thousand words into this guy today and I'm hitting the "sink cost fallacy" eject button.

Every time someone leaves a game in regular queue before the timer, they are replaced(at least out of the dozens or so times I've been involved in a test it hasn't failed once). I know it's surprising that an aspect of MM works, but it does. You're starting to really stretch here to try to cling onto something negative that isn't there. Don't be the guy who, when presented with a fact backed up by testing/research, responds with "Oh really?! That's not true, you're just lying!"

Oh...so it works perfectly like this every time...each and every time.... Your perfectly precise ethical execution that harms no one....tested by other bone heads that do it. Jeeze I'm impressed While I get that you're being sarcastic, the answer is yes. That's not true, you're just lying!" The presumption of knowledge you think you have, add 3 cups arrogance, combined by a potently willful blindness of your actions and their consequences makes a hearty stanky broth. You complained that pix will not make it clear where you are in regards to how many more games you have to leave to get in to LQ, and how many games till you get out. And if you are even in it....oh how much better to tank us by Mr. Wolf. If I was Pix I would make it even harder to pinpoint...and better yet, have a whole effort to keep moving the goal posts just to 「fluffernutter」 exploiters for all the lost time having to police you. Turn that in to a game of spank the tanker.
