We see a lot of posts complaining about different topics, etc., but...let's for a moment step back and examine a few things that may not be considered on a daily basis.
First of all, what is War Robots NOT?
It's not perfect, that's for sure! No game is, and War Robots is no exception. There are a few things I myself take umbrage with. However War Robots is also NOT finished. It's a live, developing game. The meta constantly changes; new Matchmakers are experimented with, the test server goes live almost every weekend, and honestly, if something is broke in War Robots, before too terribly long they'll try to fix it. Which can be a long, painful process...but in the end it'll most likely get fixed.
What War Robots actually IS, flaws and all?
Well, in my opinion, it's pound for pound the best game in its class. Most other mobile FPS games are fairly similar to each other, and they're all fairly similar to COD or Battlefield. Except, worse. War Robots doesn't follow those molds, and as a result manages to be completely unique in mobile games.
War Robots is also the best game I've played as far as developer involvement with the player base. Their responses to individual complaints/requests may at times be canned and generic, but overall we've seen that they do listen if enough people start saying the same thing. Gepard was OP? Gareth came along to counter it. Trident Furies everywhere? Well, first they brought in Lancelot and then buffed the Ancile. Ancilot was born, and the Trident Fury began to fade. Springfield is hated? Fine; they rebalanced the spawn points. And so on down the line. Pixonic listens, folks.
Which is exactly why I do keep playing when a bad meta comes around, because sooner or later it'll be fixed. That's also why being vocal about issues and imbalances within the game is important - that's what Pix uses to determine what direction to head next. WE are Pixonic's game plan; to build and retain a player base, and get that player base to spend money.
So, I'll keep complaining when something's not right. And I suggest everyone else do so as well. But, keep it constructive, and above all keep playing. Because, as long as we're still playing and paying, the game stays open. And as long as we continue to provide feedback, Pixonic will continue to adjust the game to keep us playing and paying.
Anyway. Just a few random thoughts for the day.
Good hunting, my friends.
