After the update the link to our forum in the game is gone (Android). They now send you to reddit.com instead here.
Maybe it was too many truths, or rants. What do you think?

Probably just trying to get a little of that Reddit love. Who is running the reddit page?

Maybe they saw a low click-through or high bounce rate for this site... I guess reddit is more accessible. Or maybe they'd rather have a forum they're in control of to be the in-game link.

What? This forum and it's members were full of love, admiration and undying praise for Pixonic Studios! How could they do such a thing to the loyal and commendable members here! I demand we march on Pixonic HQ and have a tambourine, hand holding sing song in thier Lounge to prove our "un-questionable" support to them real good...And burn something out of sheer respect. Who's with me?!! Wait, how much is it to fly to Russia?

We were full of advice and community, and then the league system attacked.
We look like we're bashing them (We're apparently in the minority, other old players in whatever other communities probably quit), and with their cash-grabs and obviously high turnover rate, why would they want a community that calls them on their bull「dookie」 linked into the game?

If it's true Pix runs the Reddit board, there is your answer - messaging control and they can post official responses.
I always thought it was odd (or at least an "economical" choice) to just link to a 3rd party forum within the app. Precisely because they have no control, so if the tone of community (or owners of the forum) sours you're powerless to respond effectively. Might have always been a temporary solution.
Remember, it's an international userbase so they may focus engagement efforts on regions that have the largest users (or biggest spenders). It's possible North America is a growing user base and so they upped their engagement (Forum plug in-app, Round Table, etc).

WIKI is gone now, too. I believe too much useful information on how NOT to pay more money to play the game. (I am being dead serious here)

For a refreshingly non-tinfoil approach, I don't think it's very difficult to see that this place has been pretty unappealing for awhile now. I know we like to cover ourselves in glory and believe we're speaking truth to power, but in reality it's far too much pissing, moaning, whining, and generally infantile behavior.
Funnily enough, at least some of this dubious "credit" has to go to Pixo linking us in the first place, which brought in a sea of d bags (in addition to some quality folks, absolutely).

Are they in control of Reddit, though? You're a moderator there, are you saying that's how they run it? That would surprise me, because that place isn't immune to blustery criticism too (and would be very different from my Reddit experiences elsewhere)

I didn't even know this forum was linked in-game. I found this forum via Google. Oh well. Why would they promote this forum anyway? Why don't they have an official forum like most game developers?

To be honest I like Reddit too and wish more people would use it. (But not as much as this forum )

Banned? Hmm. I always though this was a good forum, better than Reddit anyway. The peeps here are good-hearted folks (Except Dredd), and I think the forum helped players reach places they couldn't by themselves. R.I.P War Robots Forum, May 31st, 2017. 1 Like= 1 person who cares.

Sounds like a blessing in disguise. Awful lot of folks showed up once the forum got linked in the game. Takes a while to sort the good from the bad.

Yup, I think we'll have some time to rebuild the community back to what it was before now. We're still more active and built up than the subreddit though.

I didn't care for a lot of who and what came through the door when they linked to us. Just out of curiosity, did they ever ask.
Probably peeved about the round table, how it was recorded, and disseminated.

What if.... Blastronaut is in real life a powerful person and, as the forum banned him, now he made the game ban the forum? Think about it...

I started on the Reddit forums when I lurked here. I check here more often than Reddit. I agree that after the in-game link the whining and ranting around here went way up. If Pix wanted to control a forum you'd think they would host their own.

Maintaining an official forum owned by a company is taxing - I'm sure the mods and admins can attest to this. Plus it can open liability as what's dicey/dramatic for a public or fan-run forum becomes exceptionally t「( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)」 as a company who could have legal obligations. Plus they'd need to staff at least native English speakers to manage. As an extra incentive - fan-run sites are seen as more authentic.
Crowdsourcing a forum and wiki is the financially better route if you can do it, but you sacrifice that element of control. IMO it's probably a number of factors that led to this and certainly not all of it due to tone/content of the forum.
There is always a negative element in forums like this. How much usually depends on the state of the game/community.
Can it be negative here? Yes.
How much of that has to do with overall player satisfaction with the game an not the forum itself? Probably quite a bit.

I think that they did this because we're unofficial and all the other pages on there are. Maybe we should ask a Pixonic person to join and give them some big position.

Pixonic will not earn money from this forum as this forum teaches how to play competitively without real money involved. Pixonic doesn't want that.
