I was going over some recent comments on the War Robots-fb site and picked up a few replys from Pixo to user comments. Please share your findings as you go.
User: | I want something like "drag and shoot" just the same as in Destroy Gunners. And the red button is only for secondary weapons. The primary weapons continuosly fire as the user touches the control. | Pixo: | Good one.
We will probably introduce something similar later as an option, but the key word here is "probably". For now we decided to put this idea aside, because last time we internally tested a similar system it didn't feel quite right. It all boils down to the way how combat encounters are designed. In DG enemies seldom try to flank you. If you have a target it is usually right before you, so "touch to shoot" method is very convenient there. War Robots works in an opposite way. Your opponents often try to run circles around you, so you have to keep up with them by rotating robot's body around. And as it appeared during the test, turning and shooting at the same time is quite a hassle with this control method. |

| User: | Different crosshairs for main guns and a damage hud for damage taken from left right front and back to better view the battle field please please please and keep up the good work | Pixo: | New combat HUD is in the works!
|
|
| User: | Hi pixonic .. Now the most important is new game modes and a better Matchmaking, would be perfect and much more interesting ... Thanks for this great Game | Pixo: | New matchmaking is coming really soon. As well as some other features mentioned in this thread. Stay tuned! |
| (we knew this already thanks to ShutUpAndSmokeMyWeed in the thread Pixonic Insiders!)

|
| User: | cool... now please make new map for close combat like powerplant/senzhen. how about map in the jungle like Hallelujah montains in Avatar movie. | Pixo: | War Robots We noticed the demand for close combat maps and have some new ones in the works! |

Thanks for the info.
I'm not sure another close combat map is really needed - Dead City and Power Plant have very little LoS and Shenzen works fine for CC if you stay out of the middle area. I'd rather see another map like Canyon (which I think is one of the best designed maps) that blends close, medium and long. I guess the problem is that many players have invested in knife fighters and want more places that favor them... which is a little unnecessary since close range weapons are already very powerful and can perform well on all maps.

With the addition of SF, and all the motoring around it requires I think most people want to land on a tighter map more like before SF was added. I also really like canyon, and would like to see another blend without constant motoring. But I agree we do have enough low LOS close maps.

I'd like to see a map resembling the volcano in MWO. OK, not that big, but a crater nonetheless. Basically either spawn would be separated by a large hill, and at the top of the hill the crater is formed (center beacon). You shouldn't be able to see the opposite spawn until you're at the crater.

Nice to hear Pixonic are fixing the issues. Maybe a Toy Story map where everythings gigantic like coffee cup, pencil, doll, teddy bear etc...and the bots will be small.

I thought that myself a few days ago, but did not want to go around talking about another game on this forum. I would like to have a go on the 'HPG Manifold' orbital map as well. For those who do not know what we are talking about: Map Videos on YouToube from Mech Warrior Online (MWO):

Here is a fun nugget I found today in the comments section on the War Robots FB (made 10 hours ago). Sounds like with the MM roll out a number of the anticipated bot buffs/nerfs are coming.
USER: How about the "Rogatka will be receiving an upgrade soon" hoax? By the way, after the last upgrade the game lags horribly, and it never did before...
PIXO: It was initially planned for 2.5 and still is. By the way, Rogatka won't be the only robot affected by balance tweaks next patch. It's going to be a pretty big one, so stay tuned!

Personally I don't like that map, I used to but then everyone started using trident furies and my team started camping. Trying to get the home beacon and getting killed by 5 trident furies (minor exaggeration, I have gone against that many before) is not my idea of fun. Same goes with Springfield, Yamantau and Shenzhen, however Yamantau and Shenzhen its possible to avoid the trident Durand other campers in some situation but being the only one on your team not camping still sucks.

Should be some fun. Rog might recieve a speed increase or a decrease in it's jump cooldown. My main question is what other tweaks they have in the works. They didn't announce the Ag light bot nerf until it's release, which is understandable because TS can't test lower levels, but the rest of the balance changes prior went through TS. If anything, with the MM update coming so soon, are they doing the reasonable thing of actually using server stats for bot useage to improve underused/underperforming bots? Are they Changing Ag Heavies and Fury to start at Lv 1 like Lance, Rhino, and Raijin? Only time will tell, however that statement put them in a spotlight that makes me feel that they could royally screwball. The biggest things I can hope for is a slight buff for Ag light bots, and a rebalance on Ag mediums and underused premium bots like Rog, Fujin, Raijin and Stalker.

Same here and I thought my phone is updating. The latest update have a lag issue. They dont seem to answer stuff unless they can spin it in a positive direction or promote something they've got planned. The lag / poor performance is making it impossible for me to play. I dont give a 「dookie」 about their upcoming features - just get the damn game working again!

I hope they buff the bullet throwers for real in the next update. The last update gave major nerfs to the bullet guns' firing speeds in return for more damage per shot, and the guns actually ended up doing less damage per minute at most levels. Right now they are the most underpowered weapons after artillery, which shouldn't even be in the game IMO.

Scrolling combat text would be cool. Maybe make it toggleable?

Scrolling combat text would be cool. Maybe make it toggleable? That would be nice. Then people could run a parser and really figure out how things are working.

Robert Brown Pixonic should introduce new game modes. Specify team v team, capture the flag, king of the hill, or classic games. I'm tired of being stuck on a team with nothing but campers and having one base and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
War Robots After finishing with core mechanics of the League system (expect it with 2.6 update mid-February) we started a full-on work on new game modes implementation. You'll see first results this spring, most likely.

Hopefully the MM troubles dont delay it. Death match and capture the flag were always my favorites in PVP.

What about an Instagib type of game mode? Might be fun. Or totally dumb.
