And since all of you moderators/administrators seem to be men, I don't want to report posts that offend me. I don't want you all speaking for me like Dredd does... I dislike "White Knights". Aw dredd. Believe it or not, some of us do report and speak against sexist and other offensive posts, even if we are men. On that note, maybe stop painting all the guys here with the same brush? It's also a bit sexist. Dredd only was a white knight cos someone else reported something |

It's interesting to hear that. So anyone who likes being a "handmaiden" is considered unenlightened?
I'm just trying to clarify things here. So only your stance and opinion of sexuality and how people should behave towards it is correct? Doesn't thank make you just as narcissistic and misogynistic as them?
I know balance is practically unachievable, but right now the statement you have just made just seems like there is no way to find a balance for you.
I've worked helping kids who have been victims of human trafficking and abuse. And helped with getting people out of the illegal sex trade in Asia. There is nothing wrong with being a white knight in the generic definition.
There are genuinely good people just trying to do the good and right things and you are spitting on them just because you have a chip on your shoulder. You don't want to be offended, you don't want people to support you. Do you really know what you want? Or do you just enjoy being angry with everyone?

My avatar ATM is obviously wrong for also stating I'm a feminist but also reporting posts seems a whole 'nother political conundrum I will never have a part of. I think for this forum and many other venues of discourse it would be better to leave gender off completely. Just this evening I had a long argument with a neighbor about the adoption of the "them/they" for gender unidentified... and my redneck head (which is ordinarily fine with any sort of gender role) really REALLY wants to attribute "them/they" when referring to an individual to multiple personality disorder. I just can't use it in a sentence without going there. The term "co" is so better IMO.... make up your own word whatever just don't break grammar. My proposal: 1) Don't gender identify yourself. 2) Treat everyone as if they are the same gender as you. 3) SHUT UP AND PLAY! |

The default sex (socially, not biologically) is male. Ask any female gamer has she been mistaken as male if she didn't have a feminine username. You always assume anonymous people are male. Why? Majority of the population is female. I do not in fact assume anyone has any gender assigned, observed, or claimed although I do agree with you that the norm is male... can't go wrong thinking it's a bloke (cultural assumption). |

I'm going to issue infractions on the spot for any more political talk in this vein on the forum. People come here to discuss gaming, not be browbeaten into life reassessments. I'm not going to say anyone's perspective is wrong, so much as this is not the place for it. I'm a pretty tolerant fella, and even my head hurts from this thread. So if I'm "white knighting," I'm going to be white-knighting sanity, reason, and the right of everyone to tune out the highs and lows of reality every once in awhile, and play a damn game. |
