You'd swear your in another state with all the green.

Manchester, UK. I can be specific because my island is the size of Texas. And, oddly, I don't have any Brit bots. Going to America is like being in the TV because we grew up with American movies and soap operas. When I visit I feel like the token comedy British idiot character, a must on all popular TV shows. My only value is to be made to say "Harry Potter" like a toy with a pull-cord, until you're bored. Then we argue over the element Alumin ium, and discuss putting milk in tea. I'm afraid I can't top living with Florida beaches within reach, but I live in an area with stuff like this:

Shame that that's the only UK exposure some of us Yanks get. Though I haven't been yet, an England visit is on my bucket list. TBH I'm more interested in the North than London though. Plus one of my favorite bands is originally from Manc.

At least now you all "get" my northern accent. ? London isn't a great place to experience the UK. It's full of seriously rude people you'd want to hit, their people skills are poor, and it's way overpriced. Manchester is very different. Although we're all typical shy Brits and mind our own business, we'll happily talk to anyone. Which band from Manc do you like? There's been a few, I gather. We've nothing better to do. Hah!

Uh oh. I think ISIS have just attacked Manchester's biggest concert arena. Either that or someone put foil in the microwave again.
Ariana Grande was playing. Fortunately, I gave it a miss to play War Robots.
I speculate lone wolf attack because MI5 are usually on the ball in this area.

Pictured: The entire populace of Norfolk Virginia in situ. Here in Norfolk, Virginia, we all squeeze onto this one big aircraft carrier and just kind of make the best of it. There's a Chic fil-a. There's a raquetball court. Even a *floating* jail! There's basically everything. It's just like a city. Note the caste system clearly delineated by the vibrantly colored polo shirts in the picture. If you ever have the pleasure of visiting our drifting utopia on the waves, pay heed to the color of your energy and DRESS ACCORDINGLY. The very nature of your getaway depends upon it...

Do Autechre ring a bell? They're more of a duo, but legendary among electronic music nerds like me. They live in London now I think, but Manc is where they grew up if I'm not mistaken.

Flew balloons, was one of the developers of the original Alaska Option project. I still have friends there. It's changed a lot. I spent a lot of time in the Talkeetna/Trapper Creek area. The last place I lived was in Ocean View off of Klatt Rd. I still miss the baby back ribs and corn fritter with honey butter at the Sourdough Mining Company.

I haven't been to Sourdough in ages. As for places to eat, Moose's Tooth is pretty well known for pizza. They're always packed though. Otherwise Humpy's downtown has good halibut tacos.

Don't know those places. All new stuff since I left. I'm assuming that Coots is still there. I spent way too many lost nights in that place. It's far different (and more populated) than when I was there. There's still a piece of me there and there always will be I guess.

Spenard has shady suburbs but good restaurants. Yeah our city population comprises about half of the state's now. I think the major factor being that we have a large population of active duty and retired military. That's how I moved here in the first place, when we PCS'd (my dad is retired USAF)

Many moons ago there was a breakfast place next to Coots called the "Hogg Brothers Cafe" that had the best omlettes. I never cared too much for Gwennies and their breakfast. I spent a fair amount of time on Elmendorf. We always went to six mile lake for the air shows because that's where all the aircraft circled waiting to go to show center. I live on the gulf coast of Florida now. Flat, hot and humid. I always manage to find beauty in any place I've ever lived as long as I can get away from humanity.

I still work on Elmendorf, and occasionally drive by Six Mile. The air shows happen at the end of July every two years now.
Yeah I haven't been to Gwennie's in ages. Kind of a tourist trap. The AK Bagel restaurant is my personal fave for breakfast.
I've never been to FL, but I remember the humidity from living on the East Coast (NJ) before moving up here.
It is hard to beat the natural beauty of this place. It's easy to get out and experience the great outdoors even if you live in the city.
(sorry guys I kinda hijacked this thread)

I just wanted to know where everyone is from, personally, I was born on a plane somewhere over the pacific (lol wut) but technically I'm from Europe. Should have added Pacific in the voting.
