It is perfectly acceptable to both discuss and drink fine Chinese teas in my cockpit.

sorry prefer a good Jack Daniels. I'm American, we don't generally drink lots of tea, too weak, no buzz Yeah, once during my visit to USA (it was cold November) I ordered tea in Chinatown, and was given ice cold "tea", because it's "chai" that is hot, and "tea" is served with ice and lemon :-D It is awesome how cultures can differ between countries.

Once we dropped all that British tea into the bay in Boston we realized just how useless the obsession with tea was..... I am sure that if you guys just had global warming back in 1773 you could drink quality tea right at the bank of the Boston's bay, just need to bring some sugar with you.

I'm sure the weather changed then too.....ok no politics or such...... not sure what in the heck the OP was originally posting about, sounding a little "weird" to me..... Nothing political, just thinking of an situation when you can get your cup, get to the shore, get some tea right from the harbor, and sip it, watching the sunset... Sounds like some utopian paradise for me =) P.s. don't get OP either, I believe it is due to some translation reasons

In the southern united states, most southerners drink their iced tea with close to two cups of sugar per gallon. I personally prefer Arnold Palmers, a 50/50 mix of lemonade and tea. As for the whole cold versus hot, here along the florida/alabama gulf coast, it's fairly normal to have a day of 90+ degrees and a humidity of near 100%. This means while blazing hot, it also literally feels like you're in a sauna breathing in steam ....I couldn't imagine a cup of hot tea in such conditions.
Edit: Also, translation of the OP referring to a cockpit. In the US, this is often another name for any hole in the human body (most times one in particular on a female) that a man may put his........errrrr, pork and beans

no thanks.....not sure why American's aren't into the tea, just know I can't stand the taste. literally one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted, coffee is the most disgusting with tea close second. That's a statement =) But I believe the reason is not the coffee itself, but brand\brewing machine. My wife is a biggest coffee fan in the world, but she couldn't finish Dunking Donuts small cup of coffee. However, Starbucks is pretty decent; have you tried it? (oh gosh, this topic is so off-topic, I am afraid we are getting banned forever :-D)

So, drinking moderately warm drinks helps to stay hydrated and not getting ill. Now I know that US guys are used to ice-cold drinks from childhood, and that's why you are usually not getting flu, but it's not customary for many other countries.

My cockpit is full of sachets of instant coffee (Maxwell House, Great Taste White, Kopiko Brown) I was raised on a family who loves to drink coffee. I even drink coffee before bed.

When I read the title, "What goes on in my cockpit" the first thing that came to mind was "If this plane's a-rockin'... don't come a-knockin'"

Even at ~100F temperatures with like 95% humidity, I can't even think of cold tea. Wth.
I can't even function without my daily two cups of tea, black as sin, piping hot.
Who came up with the "chai" is hot, "tea" is cold thing?!? That's silly. As an Asian, and from the country where the word "chai" was imported from, we don't use that weird distinction. Tea= hot, everything else is an abomination.xd

In the exotic faraway country that is Texas we like our iced tea. In fact some places don't even serve hot tea. We also like our coffee it's the nectar of the gods, baby!
As far as the cockpit thing well...must resist temptation....

For the addicts caffeine must be delivered hot or you lack humanity.
On the other hand so much more could actually event in said cockpit.
