I'm not 100% on what tier im in but I often go up against 12/12 opponents so I'm guessing I'm somewhere in gold tier. I just started using a kwk carnage to combat furys really and I have racked up a damage score in the 400s a few times with only that bot just by weakening non shielded bots on their way towards the blue team and using the rush to quickly move to better positions. What's everyone's opinion on using this setup in higher tiers as I also noted that my teammates were pretty smart in these matches? So not sure if I was getting lucky or genuinely assisting my team. Plus I have never really used snipers before, I prefer mid and close range but i do love giving fury's a taste of their own medicine, especially those pesky trident furies!

Even midrange (trident) carnage is not something everyone agrees to be a good midrange platform because of the same reason (though I believe trident carnage to be a decent midrange platform.). If you want to play the long range game I'm afraid the only useable snipers ATM are the trebuchet or kwk Fury.

I agree that the Carnage KwK doesn't qualify as a top tier bot. It can be useful in the anti-fury roll as you've found, but a maxed top tier clan would run a Fury KwK instead.
Regardless of type a Top tier team can't afford to have more than two snipers: they are simply too much of a liability on tighter maps where you're likely to mech out. However having a sniper Fury in can easily change the game on more open maps by taking opposing Fury out. And KwK would generally be my first choice due to the DPM.
The Carnage's mobility is IMHO better utilized with mid-range weapons like the Trident or better Zeus. It's harder to play and isn't going to last as long, but the higher DPM and greater strategic threat make it worthwhile.
A damage score of 400 for a single bot sounds decent, but realize that's far below target total as you move into Top tier. In close games you're going to need to score around ~650 to "make par" and be roughly average, and that's simply not possible in a KwK Carnage. Less for a sniper is expected, but you'd still be aiming for over 600 total to pull your weight.
The Carnage is a legitimate stepping stone to the Fury, and if you're successfully keeping multiple enemy Fury down you are helping your team. Just remember that to get into those 500s you can't stay in it too long- get aggressive and make them kill you when their Fury are out so that you can get into higher DPM brawlers.
All that said I'd still rather see you in a Carnage Zeus if you were my teammate. $.02

kWk does have better DPS than Trebuchet, but it's still less than a Trident. Use them if you want but prepare for defeat against Anciles on top of Trebuchet's bane, physical shields. I use Tridents with my Carnage and do pretty good with it. Besides Gareth, Carnage is my quickest beacon runner. Generally beacon runners make better use of closer range weapons, not snipers.

KwK is a pretty weak choice in virtually any tier, and there's a reason they are really only seen on Furies in top tier: Furies are the only bots that can carry enough of them to make a difference. There are stronger alternatives, namely the Zeus and the Trident. The Zeus has nearly 3 times the DPM of the KwK and ignores shields to boot, all at the cost of a slightly shorter range. The Trident has twice the DPM and has splash, which is extremely useful in upper tiers, but takes some practice to get used to because it takes nearly 4 complete seconds to fire off the weapon and the projectiles are relatively slow, but it's worth it.
