Hi guys, I'm an intermediate player. I noticed some people I'm paired up with, on the initial spawn, immediately waste their ammo/rockets. Not the long range stuff, but the pinatas/energy/gun weapons. Is this a noob move, are they trying to signal to everyone to move in a certain direction or something else? P.S. I get a real laugh when your team wipes out all of the enemy, clock hasn't stopped and then you all face each other and start blasting away to no effect or reason.

They're just messing around. Not like you can do anything with those initial salvos anyway, may as well shoot some teammates. I do it almost every game and I play in gold

I use my weapons, especially those unlimited shots like magnum/orkan, to signal teammates to capture particular beacons once the starting countdown ends.
And most of the time, especially those on fast bots, will comply and understand.
Its better to divide and conquer as many beacons at the start.

Works 20% of the time lol, not worth it

Depends on who is shooting at you. I pay attention to clan-warriors and those mag-geps, but ignore pilots who just keep fireing me until I'm round the corner.
Sadly remembering that noob who emptied his molots into my back and when the enemy showed up his guns made 'click' and he had to reload. Hope he learned something that day.

This also happens sometimes when using memu (emulator for PC). You have to right-click to bind the mouse to the emulator and enable the key mappings after picking your bot with the mouse, and for whatever reason, this sometimes will trigger hitting the big red button so you unload everything just after dropping in.

I thought they were just using the red button to steer as well, lol.

As mentioned earlier, it is more likely due android emulator. I did have same problem with memu and here is thread about it and solution for it.

Heck, I have accidentally shot just trying to steer on a phone... if it's happening when they are turning, then it is likely... *ahem*... premature.

What always gets me is accidentally jumping when trying to aim. Not so bad on a Cossack, but on a Griffin, ugh.

There is also the accidental. Finger in the wrong place when the screen loads for example. I've unloaded one or the other pinata at the beginning of a game a lot of times because of this.

Mostly it's just hitting the big red button while getting moving... But sometimes it's something else and it's hysterical.

Ugh, I was so happy to play this game on a large PC monitor instead of my ipad. But I just couldn't handle the controls and all the mappings. Not to mention starting from scratch since memu is for android. Back to the ipad.

On my Samsung tablet my stupid screen reacts funny occasionally. Sometimes it will trigger one or all weapons even though I'm steering well above the buttons, near or even above the ability button, if the bot has one. It's crazy. I'll be firing gung-ho for no reason. Really handy when it's premature while about to engage. Great, there goes 2 volleys from the taran or thunder. No better way to announce your failed arrival and location than shooting a taran all over the place.

It's there because I don't have quite the right bits to make a full DB at the moment (used the other orkan on my DB Galahad). I have a few times tried to trick shield bots by firing my Taran wildly in their direction hoping that they will break cover to take on the plasma bot protected by their shield. I don't think it has worked yet.

Hah, I only have one orkan on my db griffin too, but I'm using a tulu, thought about using a taran but I'm lazy and prefer to just expend it out, on the plus side, I can use the tulu for 500m harass, sometimes I get stalkers to stealth thinking I'm running a rdb.
