I've seen many ppl say that weapons should generally stay 2 lvls above your bots lvl, but I've also seen where ppl said you could have bots at lvl 8 with max weapons. I've been working on keeping my higher bots at 7 while upgrading their weapons and am wondering at what levels I should roughly keep them at.
Hangar
RAIJIN zeus/zeus GALAHAD taran/mag/mag RHINO ork/ork/mag/mag CARNAGE thunder/thunder
5th spot switches between LEO thunder/mag/mag/mag GRIFFIN taran/taran/mag/mag GARETH taran/mag
I'm not concerned with being at the very top of a certain tier, I just want to stay safely competitive without being thrown in with max bots max weapons. With matchmaking changing all the time it gets rather confusing, so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

I too was in your situation but instead of upgrading weapons, I started upgrading my bots to level 8. I went from a 70% War Robots to 42% as it bumped up my tier. I now have worked my way back to 48% but its slow going. I think that rushing to unlock my 5th slot with no bot ready to take it's place also has something to do with it. Running a base Leo until I can buy a Galahad

The 2 levels above bots is a good rule... just remember to always level weapons first.
So, say you are at 4/6. Your next goal would be 6/8. The best path would be to upgrade all weapons to 7, then bots to 5, then weapons to 8, then bots to 6. Or you could just get all weapons to 8 and only then upgrade the bots to 6, but I like doing it 1 level at a time personally.

Running a base Leo until I can buy a Galahad Galahd will bump your MM another 20%. Unless you are going to have a bunch of lvl 9-10 weapons pretty soon, lower bots might be your only solution.

I'm already getting bumped up from my WSP bots and the few gold weapons I run on them. Routinely running into clan squads and maxed out bot/wpn builds in game as is. Like you say, my only solution would be to join a clan or build a lower tier hangar. However, I'm a sucker for pain and believe that iron forges iron. Therefore, I'm slowly building up my weapons to 10 while continuing to face off against top tier players. In the process, learning new techniques and playing for fun. If my W/R suffers so be it.
