So it seems from what I have read on other posts that tanker hell was suspended after the update, which explains my brief trip back into fighting bots two or three leagues above me.
Now that I'm back amongst the fun loving criminals I have started to see a sudden upturn in one sided fights and a lot of actual bronze (lower than level 20) being served up to the grinder which I wasn't seeing before. Often six against two or three. Is this because everyone is looking to emergency tank their stats as the end of the month approaches so they get to spend May climbing up from Bronze and earning oodles of gold?
If this is the case, the start of the month seems to be the time to be in tanking league. No ditching, everyone fighting furiously for that medal of capture and medal of valor gold rush.
I have also noticed that the leaver league situations are map specific so much so that I now instantly skip Springfield and Yamantau, and hold off on deploying until I see at least half those little blue lights come on before committing elsewhere.
But what the hell, I've given up on leaving the tanker queue, I've fought every single battle to the end for yonks now, rising rather swiftly from Bronze all the way to just a couple of battles from entering Master League - that's a lot of battles (at least three hundred) with no leaving and no ditching, so clearly some players have been assigned permanently.
I would mewl to Pixonic, but I'm having waaaay more fun in there than in the normal leagues as I'm only outgunned and outnumbered on certain maps, not every single battle. Plus with all the silver and gold I'm pulling in, when the system changes again (with how hated the current MM is, I am assuming this is coming at some point) I should be nicely set up to max out everything in my hanger and buy any new s「go solo」y new bots/weapons that come out).
Springfield and Yamantau are guaranteed massively one sided games. 6 vs 2. I sometimes deploy just to go for damage. Maybe because these maps are the most hated that they see mass ditching. But why then does one side always have a near full squad. It occurs every single time. That does not seem random.
Shenzhen has full sides but massively lopsided power. One side will be pouring in Lancelots against a side fielding Leos and Vits. I sometimes deploy to hone my Lance killing experience. But again, why is it only here and not on any other map that I see one side getting utterly pummeled with absolute metaphysical certitude?
Dead City, Canyon and Power Plant are fairly close with one side always being down one to two bots vs a full squad. Never a full squad vs a full squad.
Moon. Every battle is pretty even and always fully populated. I guess because it's new, everyone wants to explore and get experience fighting in it, but then why here alone are the squads pretty evenly matched when Shenzhen sees utterly unfair matchmaking every single time?
It'll be interesting to see what the start of the month brings.
