I see tons of pilots not being able to close games that are won. Sometimes it is the guy who is the last blue left who charges to his death with a 4-1 beacon lead, more than enough bar, and 45 seconds left against 3 reds in a group. There is the blue who runs from the last red with time running out and no chance to win on beacons. The last blue who runs past a beacon to try to chase down a red who is drawing him away from the beacon.
I can't understand why they can't grasp how beacons work.

Who cares? As long, as it's fun.

Pixonic really needs to put a good tutorial into the game so that new players understand the winning condition along with other info such as beacon bars, timers etc.

I see you have been playing without your squad, lol. That's just the way it is for randoms, one or two guys carrying the entire game while the rest just suck at it. This is why there's that rant thread that talks about games we cannot win, it's a common occurrence. Though sometimes you do get a match where everyone on your team is competent, everyone has 4 or more slots, no far range bots, or just one that they don't use on bad maps, everyone is dealing good damage, all their bots are pretty optimum builds, no thunder molot Leo etc. I hope you take it better after this rant, I felt really frustrated too but learned to just roll with it now. Sometimes it's even funny to sit back and watch the noobs go against strong lineups and fail so hard.

The beacon thing is simple, yet so poorly understood by the majority of players. I played a medium 3/7 hangar recently where I scored ~600k and killed 9 enemies in Yama trying to stem the enemy assault on the center beacon. I eventually got meched out, and then watched the Nat and the Leo playing sniper/artillery back on our deck continue to to hang out there while the *last* enemy snuck up and flipped the center beacon, then went into hiding for the rest of the match. I wanted to gouge my eyes out... no, I actually wanted to gouge my teammates eyes out. So unbelievably frustrating.

I think it would be good if they did something to encourage players to use close range bots more often. Every match I have at least 3 long or mid range bots and usually the three that aren't are two stalkers and I, and stalkers aren't good for front line. Four of the maps I'm almost always the only close range bot, not even a stalker.

If they can't figure out that they are a burden to their team by not getting out there and knife fighting, they will learn eventually... ok some might not.

It's weird because this just started happening all of a sudden without warning and I don't know why

That one game where I mech out fighting two bots while the other 3 blues stayed at 500m range blasting their Zenits, thunders and molots. I took one out, the other guy was left with a sliver of health, but we were also losing on beacon health, it's 3 to 2 beacons in our favor, reds have one last bot. It's 3 to 1 bots, Red is likely on his last bot, he isn't switching it up, easy, blues sweep in, take in another beacon and we will win. And what did my team do? They stayed right where they were and we lost. Good job blues, such great players.

Playing randoms sometimes I'll mech up for caps, knife and medium support. Makes it harder to carry a match in the long run, but I'm able to fill empty rolls. Gives me some variety too.
But I agree with op, I want to snap my tablet in half when I watch blue blow it after I mech out giving blue the edge/lead. I've yelled at the screen watching 「smart person」es stand next to red beacons, or charge towards that plasma/thunder Golem with a stock Dest with a minute left and the lead.

Would it be rude to invite campers to squad to hopefully educate them? At least you are giving them a chance to get good at the game. I do this often in an attempt to enlighten them. Unfortunately, most won't join my squad. When they do join, some would say "I don't care" and others simply don't understand English... But in one rare occasion, this Spiral Patton guy joined my squad. I told him that he needs to cap beacons first rather than camping with his Patton. We ran one match together and he used his stalker first and we dominated the game. Complimented him on his job well done. One less camper is good for all of us
